A platform for mobile visualization of SHM data

Woelk, Matthew 02 September 2014 (has links)
This thesis presents a system to display Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) data interactively at multiple scales that range from milliseconds to years. Typically, visualizing large SHM datasets produce static plots that take significant time to render. Our system improves upon standard tools by providing an interactive interface and a speed-optimized binning algorithm. Using the interface, a user is able to view data collected from a bridge's sensors at multiple scales in a web browser. This allows a user to visually inspect the entire range of their data to see both short and long-term trends. To render the data, the system uses a binning algorithm to calculate a five-number summary of a range of data. Those bins are combined to generate increasingly high levels of bins, which are then rendered as a binned line chart. The chart is rendered using a standard web browser on both desktop and mobile devices.

Visualization of Statistical Contents

Mehmood, Raja Majid, Iqbal, Gulraiz January 2010 (has links)
Our project presents the research on visualization of statistical contents. Here wewill introduce the concepts of visualization, software quality metrics andproposed visualization technique (line chart). Our aim to study the existingvisualization techniques for visualization of software metrics and then proposedthe visualization approach that is more time efficient and easy to perceive byviewer. In this project, we focus on the practical aspects of visualization of multipleprojects with respect to the versions and metrics. This project also gives animplementation of proposed visualization techniques of software metrics. In thisresearch based work, we have to compare practically the proposed visualizationapproaches. We will discuss the software development life cycle of our proposedvisualization system, and we will also describe the complete softwareimplementation of implemented software.

Bornschein, Denise, Engel, Christin 12 May 2020 (has links)

Evaluating the use of Brush and Tooltip for Time Series visualizations: A comparative study

Eklund, André, Helin, Sebastian January 2023 (has links)
This study uses a combination of user testing and analysis to evaluate the impact of brush and tooltip on the comprehension of time series visualizations. Employing a sequential mixed-methods approach, with qualitative data from semi-structured interviews used to inform the design of a visualization tool, followed by a quantitative user study to validate it. Sixteen (16) participants from various fields of study, predominantly computer science, participated in the study. A MANOVA test was conducted with results indicating a significant statistical difference between the groups. Results deriving from the study show that the use of brush and tooltip increases user accuracy on detecting outliers, as for perception of trends and patterns. The study’s context was limited to desktop usage, and all participants were treated as a homogenous group, presenting potential limitations in applying these findings to other devices or more diverse user groups. The results provide information about improving time series data visualizations for facilitating more efficient and effective understanding, which can be relevant specifically to data analysts and academic researchers.

Technická analýza / Technical Analysis

Kratochvíl, Bohumír January 2014 (has links)
Master´s thesis goal that the author hopes to achieve is a design of an application aiding stock technical analysis based on identified needs. Based on analysis regarding modules for technical analysis of current trading platforms, I found out there is a certain space for improvement. Implemented trading rules and technical indicators of the application itself are further examined in terms of prognostic success rate on historical data. Selected chapters of technical analysis are fundamental base for this master´s thesis.
