Le stockage de données par holographie suscite un intérêt renouvelé. Il semble bien placé pour conduire à une nouvelle génération de mémoires optiques aux capacités et débits de lecture bien supérieurs à ceux des disques optiques actuels basés sur l’enregistrement dit surfacique. Dans ce travail de thèse, nous proposons une nouvelle architecture de stockage optique de données qui s’inspire du principe de la photographie interférentielle de Lippmann. Les informations y sont inscrites dans le volume du matériau d’enregistrement sous la forme de pages de données par multiplexage en longueur d’onde en exploitant la sélectivité de Bragg. Cette technique, bien que très voisine de l’holographie, n’avait jamais été envisagée pour le stockage à hautes capacités. L’objectif de la thèse a été d’analyser cette nouvelle architecture afin de déterminer les conditions pouvant conduire à de très hautes capacités. Cette analyse s’est appuyée sur un outil de simulation numérique des processus de diffraction en jeu dans cette mémoire interférentielle. Elle nous a permis de définir deux conditions sous lesquelles ces hautes capacités sont atteignables. En respectant ces conditions, nous avons conçu un démonstrateur de mémoire dit de « Lippmann » et avons ainsi démontré expérimentalement que la capacité est bien proportionnelle à l’épaisseur du matériau d’enregistrement. Avec une telle architecture, des capacités de l’ordre du Téraoctet sont attendues pour des disques de 12 cm de diamètre. / Nowadays, the holographic data storage presents a renewed interest. It seems well placed to lead a new generation of optical storage capacity and playback speeds much higher than current optical discs based on the recording onto a surface. In this thesis, we propose a new architecture for optical data storage that is based on the principle of Lippmann photography interferential. Information are included in the volume of the recording material in the form of pages of data multiplexing in wavelength by exploiting the Bragg selectivity. This technique, although very similar to holography, had never been considered for high storage capacities. The aim of the thesis was to analyze this new architecture to determine the conditions that can lead to very high capacities. This analysis was based on a numerical simulation tool of diffraction process involved in this memory interferential. It allowed us to define two conditions under which these high capacities are achievable. In accordance with these conditions, we developed a demonstrator called "Lippmann’s memory" and have thus demonstrated experimentally that the capacity is proportional to the thickness of the recording material. With such an architecture, Terabyte disks of 12 cm in diameter are expected.

Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der archivarischen und geisteswissenschaftlichen Erschließung der Horst Lippmann-Sammlung (des Konzertveranstalters Horst Lippmanns, der Sammlung der Lippmann+Rau Konzertagentur) im Lippmann+Rau-Musikarchiv in Eisenach. Diese Arbeit ist eine Mischform aus Auflistung, tieferer Erschließung und Werkstattbericht der Arbeit des Autoren als Musikarchivar im Lippmann+Rau-Musikarchiv seit April 2022. Die Horst Lippmann-Sammlung wird hier in ihrer Erschließung beschrieben, diese Workflows mit denen den Sächsischen Staatsarchiv verglichen und zum Schluss mit der Sammlung des Konzertveranstalters Fritz Rau auch biographisch verglichen. Hier zeigt sich, dass Lippmann durch seinen Charakter als nachdenklicher Kunstliebhaber aus einer vermögenden Familie den Anforderungen einer großen Konzertagentur nicht wirklich gewachsen war, weshalb er sich ab den 70er Jahren aus dem Konzertgeschäft zugunsten von Fritz Rau zurückzog und hier das Plattenlabel führen konnte, was durch seine sorgfältige Arbeitsweise beinahe den kompletten Grundstock der Horst Lippmann-Sammlung darstellt. Zum Schluss zeigt sich, dass einem Erklären einer Sammlung auch immer ein ganzheitliches Verstehen einer Sammlung folgen muss, um eine Sammlung nachhaltig erschließen zu können.:1. Quellenverzeichnis / This work deals with the archival and humanities development of the Horst Lippmann collection (of the concert promoter Horst Lippmann, the collection of the Lippmann+Rau concert agency) in the Lippmann+Rau music archive in Eisenach. This work is a hybrid of listing, in-depth development and workshop report of the author's work as a music archivist in the Lippmann+Rau Music Archive since April 2022. The Horst Lippmann Collection is described here in its current status of cataloguing, these workflows compared with those of the Saxon State Archives and finally compared biographically with the collection of the concert promoter Fritz Rau. This all shows that Lippmann, due to his character as a thoughtful art lover from a wealthy family, was not really up to the demands of a large concert agency, which is why he withdrew from the concert business in favor of Fritz Rau from the 70s onwards and was able to run the company's record label here, which he did in his meticulous way of working as it represents almost the entire core of the Horst Lippmann collection. Finally, it becomes clear that an explanation of a collection must always be followed by a holistic understanding of a collection in order to be able to catalogue a collection in the long term.:1. From Europe to the Nation examines how six influential American journalists - John Gunther, Freda Kirchwey, Arthur Krock, Walter Lippmann, Anne O’Hare McCormick, and Dorothy Thompson - viewed and interpreted for their American audience the series of European events from Hitler’s ascension to power in Germany to the attack on Pearl Harbor. My study describes the interpretative frameworks through which these journalists viewed and explained what happened, namely a shared faith in the superiority of American politics and policies, a belief in the moral supremacy of the “new world” over the “old world,” a view of a racially-stratified world dominated by Anglo-Saxons, and a gendered worldview based on the binary opposites of masculine and feminine. These journalists used different interpretative frameworks in response to different events, shifting, overlapping and eventually coalescing in time. As events in Europe became increasingly dire following the Fall of France and threatened directly the national security of the United States, the interplay of these guiding assumptions prompted the rise to dominance of a shared viewpoint: what was at stake was the future of a West tom between civilization and barbarism. The civilization versus barbarism discourse had a clear propaganda value, in that it was used by journalists to support American participation, if not outright intervention, in the European war. This approach pinpoints the historical process of ideology creation. This ideology was elastic and highly effective, utilized for propaganda purpose not just for American intervention, but also to rally the home-front throughout the war and to legitimize Cold War American foreign policy. This study stresses the importance of recognizing the agency of journalists in the development of the concept because of their critical role as intermediaries between the crises occurring on the other side of the Atlantic and the American public’s understanding of what these events meant for the United States. / Thesis / Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

L’avènement des théories et des politiques publiques dites néolibérales marque à première vue le déclin de la notion de souveraineté, à la fois comme principe légitimant et comme motif mobilisateur. Les thèses néolibérales, dans leur diversité, se sont construites comme des contre-points à la souveraineté. Contre la puissance absolue de commander du monarque, les régimes libéraux ne doivent leur vertu qu’à la croissance des libertés individuelles ; contre la souveraineté populaire, la démocratie ne trouve son effectivité que dans des techniques de gouvernement. Cette opposition théorique paraît d’autant plus ferme que les évolutions géopolitiques d’après-guerre portent massivement atteinte aux attributs classiques de la puissance souveraine. La mondialisation de l’économie bouleverse le découpage territorial de l’espace en faisant commercer des régions plus que des États souverains. La globalisation des échanges fait émerger des instances économiques privées dont la puissance rivalise avec les États institués. L’avènement d’internet complexifie les transactions rendant vaine toute prétention à maîtriser la vie publique. Enfin, le développement du droit international et l’aventure communautaire européenne portent atteinte à la puissance législative et décisionnaire des gouvernements représentatifs. Cependant, contre le récit annonçant le retrait de l’idée de souveraineté, contre l’idée d’une incompatibilité de la souveraineté et du néolibéralisme, cette thèse cherche à se rendre attentive aux traitements qui sont réservés à la notion de puissance souveraine, aussi bien dans les œuvres théoriques que dans les politiques publiques européennes contemporaines. / The advent of so-called neoliberal theories and public policies seems to mean the decline of the notion of sovereignty, both as a legitimizing principle and as a mobilizing motive. Neoliberal theses, in their diversity, have been constructed as counterpoints to sovereignty. Against the absolute power of command of the monarch, liberal regimes owe their virtue only to the growth of individual liberties; against popular sovereignty, democracy finds its effectiveness only in the techniques of government. This theoretical opposition seems even stronger because the post-war geopolitical developments massively undermine the classic attributes of sovereign power. The globalization of the economy disrupts the territorial division of space. The globalization of trade brings out private economic powers which compete with the instituted States. The invention of the Internet makes transactions more complex, which prevent any possibility of controlling public life. Finally, the development of international law and the European community adventure undermine the power of representative governments. However, against the narrative announcing the withdrawal of the idea of sovereignty, against the idea of an incompatibility of sovereignty and neoliberalism, this thesis seeks to pay attention to the treatments that are reserved for the notion of sovereign power, in theoretical works as well as in contemporary European public policies.

Nesta dissertação, tratamos do espalhamento de partículas (elétrons e éxcitons) em sistemas nos quais o potencial espalhador está acoplado a modos vibracionais. Os efeitos do acoplamento, no espalhamento das partículas, são estudados em dois problemas particularmente interessantes, a saber: o tunelamento de elétrons em heterojunções e o espelhamento de excitações em sólidos. Em ambos há a possibilidade de ocorrência de espalhamento inelástico/ressonante assistido por fônons. Verifica-se que a interação com modos vibracionais induz o aparecimento de estruturas bastante peculiares nos coeficientes de transmissão e seções de choque. Tais estruturas decorrem da existência de espalhamento inelástico (abertura de novos canais) e de efeitos de interferência, construtiva destrutiva, característicos de sistemas nos quais se tem acoplamento entre um nível discreto e o contínuo. / In this work we consider the scattering of excitations in systems in which a local scatterer center is coupled to single vibrational mode. The effects of the coupling are studied in two particular systems, namely, the tunneling of electrons in heterojunctions and the scattering of excitations by impurities in solids. In both cases inelastic scattering is observed and peculiar structures in transmission amplitudes and cross sections are observed. Such structures are a direct consequence from the newly open scattering channels and from interference effects resulting from the coupling of the discret with the continuum.
