Virginia Woolf, who was considered by many historians one of the pioneers of this movement, also made hard criticisms of Freudian thought and built his own way of conceiving the female. That way, this work aims to present the design of female brought by Freud in the construction of psychoanalytic thought with all the paradoxes and contradictions that this concept presents and designing women presented by the writer, contemporary to Freud, Virginia Woolf who tries, through literature, to find less obscure ways for women of modernity. For that, a theoretical research was conducted. That way, we had the intention of reaching truths or concepts, not about Freud or Virginia, but only view it as art, literature and psychoanalysis may be extremely important disciplines for understanding and building of human subjectivity.
