Dentre as temáticas estudadas, as relações entre oralidade e escritura, que se permeiam pela noção de identidade na cultura moçambicana. Identidade que se constrói mitologicamente, a partir da recuperação do maravilhoso na literatura, ampliando o conceito habitual de mímese. A representação do mundo se realiza no texto em dois eixos perceptivos: a infância e a velhice. O velho é imagem de um passado que deve ser remodelado pelo infante, futuro do país. Terra Sonâmbula, fábula que põe em xeque os gêneros que se querem engessados, oferece outros sentidos a velhos arquétipos como os símbolos da água e da terra, trazendo à modernidade, por um labor singular da linguagem, uma de suas mais poéticas epopéias

No. of bitstreams: 1 tese_9757_DISSERTAÇÃO VERSAO FINAL CRISTINA OLIVEIRA DOS SANTOS.pdf: 2587620 bytes, checksum: 826573c65de46133445fe1e7bf1ca70d (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-03-30 / Esta pesquisa consiste em investigar a comunidade virtual do grupo Borboletas no WhatsApp que promove interação entre pessoas do sexo feminino com idades entre 10 e 35 anos que são pró-transtornos alimentares, as chamadas pró-anas e pró-mias brasileiras, adeptas da prática da anorexia e bulimia, respectivamente. O recorte desse grupo se justifica por elas serem mais ativas dentro das comunidades virtuais, interagindo com maior frequência e construindo vínculos sociais. Utilizarei a etnografia virtual ou netnografia para descobrir as visões de mundo, construções de identidades e relações de sociabilidade que estão sendo criadas pelas participantes, além da análise de redes sociais virtuais. Como resultado dessa dissertação foi possível concluir que as pró-anas e pró-mias têm conhecimento dos efeitos negativos desses transtornos em seus corpos e em suas vidas, mas acreditam que todo o sacrifício para conseguirem alcançar seus desejos de ter um corpo magro são válidos porque as afastam da lipofobia, uma forma de demonização da gordura. Além disso, o apoio constante das participantes nas comunidades virtuais mostrou ser algo tão forte a ponto de criar vínculos entre pessoas que outrora eram desconhecidas e que agora assumiram tal importância na vida das pró-anas e pró-mias que suas vidas giram em torno do transtorno alimentar e das amizades estabelecidas dentro do grupo Borboletas.

Mitochondria are involved in numerous cellular processes such as respiration, ATP production, calcium signalling and apoptosis. About 99% of mitochondrial proteins are nuclear-encoded and need to be imported into mitochondria for their function. The MIA pathway is used by many cysteine-containing proteins for their import into the mitochondrial intermembrane space (IMS). The pathway comprises two essential proteins: the disulphide carrier and import receptor Mia40, and the FAD-dependent sulphydryl oxidase Erv1. Together these proteins form a disulphide relay system inside the IMS. Initially, substrate proteins are imported in their cysteine-reduced form, which is oxidised by Mia40 in the IMS. Then, the now reduced Mia40 is in turn re- oxidised by Erv1. Finally, reduced Erv1 can transfer the electrons to oxygen directly, or via cyt c, to the respiratory chain. The overall aim of this study is to understand the structural and functional mechanisms of Erv1, from the effect of single mutations (R182H) to its quaternary structure and thermodynamic properties. The results are described in three chapters. First, biophysical techniques were used to evaluate the oligomerisation state of Erv1. Contrary to general belief, the results show that Erv1 adopts a tetramer conformation in solution. Tetramerisation provides Erv1 with a higher thermal stability, though it does not affect its oxidase activity. The second result chapter focuses on understanding the effects of a medically relevant mutant, Erv1 R182H, on the structure and function of the protein. The results show that at the physiological temperature of 37°C the mutant is less stable and becomes completely inactive after a few enzymatic cycles. The activity defect is linked to a weaker binding of the FAD cofactor in the mutant. Lastly, the third result chapter looks at the electron transfer within Erv1 from a thermodynamic perspective. Standard reduction potentials were determined for two of the three redox centres in Erv1. The results differ from those previously published, but are consistent with the current model of electron transfer in Erv1. Taken together, the results presented here offer an insightful perspective into the molecular mechanisms regulating Erv1.

SUMÁRIO Esta dissertação busca demonstrar a presença do fantástico e do maravilhoso na narrativa de Mia Couto. Para tal, apresenta-se uma discussão teórica acerca desses dois géneros, retomando-se o que de mais importante se tem escrito sobre o assunto. A seguir, procede-se à análise do fantástico e do maravilhoso na narrativa de Mia Couto, recorrendo a exemplos dos seus contos e romances. Esta análise inclui uma definição de cada um destes géneros, adequada à especificidade da obra do escritor; um estudo dos temas fantásticos e maravilhosos mais frequentes; e, por fim, uma caracterização dos discursos fantástico e maravilhoso. SUMMARY This dissertation aims to demonstrate the presence of the fantastic and the marvellous in Mia Couto's narrative. In order to achieve these objectives, the first step is to contextualize these two genres, making a brief reflexion about the most important theories on this subject. After this theoretical chapter, this thesis analyses the fantastic and the marvellous in Mia Couto's work by giving examples from his short stories and novels. This chapter also includes a definition of each genre, specifically adapted to the writer's narrative; a study of most frequent fantastic and marvellous themes; and, finally, a description of fantastic and marvellous discursive features. / CLASSICS & WORLD LANGUAGES / MA(ROM LANG)- SPEC PORTUGUES

Uppsatsen syftar till en undersökning av Moa Martinsons framställning av männen i serien om Mia Stenman som kan öppna upp en ny tolkning. Genom ett genusperspektiv har jag tittat på strukturen i hur männens utseende och personlighet porträtteras och hur detta påverkar Mia. Sedan har jag skildrat Martinsons politiska liv och behandlat delar av hennes relationer för att uppnå en bättre tolkning. Analysen av ett urval av män i hela serien, mestadels hennes styvfader, då han är den som figurerar mest hela serien igenom, visar på hur olika de framställs. Gemensamt har de allra flesta att de porträtteras mycket negativt, genom att utmåla framträdande drag i ansiktet och en personlighet som inte är så smickrande. De få som inte beskrivs som ovan nämnt, äger i stället en faderlig ton, alternativt är så underlägsna att Mia inte förmår sig att vara elak mot dem. Allt eftersom Mia blir äldre, får hon en mer neutral ton mot männen, trots att hon behåller sin självständighet och står fast vid att hon inte vill gifta sig. Mia lider av en stark svartsjuka som kan ha lett till att hon på äldre dagar får en starkt maskulin sida som är mer aggressiv, ironiskt nog, just mot det maskulina. Männens fysiska existens sammanfaller med det sociala och politiska som sker runt omkring dem i världen. Med anledning av detta skapade Martinson en polemik mot männen, vars identitet hon trampade på när hon som självständig kvinna gav ut en roman, som tillhörde den genre som bara män tidigare blivit publicerade inom. Detta återskapas sedan i serien, genom att Mia varken blir, eller låter sig bli omhändertagen av några män, utom de hon själv väljer, och knappt ens då. Martinsons personliga agenda tränger oupphörligt fram när hon vill stärka kvinnorna och påvisa sanningen ur en kvinnas perspektiv.
