Implementace podnikového informačního systému: teorie a praxe / Implementation of business information system: Theory and Practice

Jonáš, Pavel January 2010 (has links)
The work try to familiarize the users with information systems in contemporary business and show the greates weakness in the implementation of information systems in enterprises. The issue of implementation is addressed in the work from all sides and angles. First, the implementation process itself analyzed and its parts. The following are general methods applicable to software development and evaluated their use in the implementation process. In addition to the implementation process is part of the work given to the management. In the work is discusses how to look at the company's management can influence the implementation process. Another problem to be solved are the key factors influencing the course and success of implementation. In addition of these factors are mentioned the most important risks affecting various stages of implementation. Based on these risks are created by three specific scenarios which could arise in individual cases of emergency. Gradually, readers are drawn into the issue and during the actual implementation in real practice. The individual parts are reminded of the most significant weaknesses or places that none of the parties should not be underestimated. In addition to the actual weaknesses of the implementation process are discussed and two basic Casework across the entire spectrum of companies. At the conclusion of the implementation process is displayed in a graphic sketch, where the individual problems of implementation are shown in the very way the implementation process. The reader can better imagine the implementation process, including the sequence of steps. Complete implementation issue is addressed in the work of all views of interested parties. So your company owner will find thinking about the implementation, or project manager who deals with the issue. Investigation of Decision Processes in Chemical Substitution Decision Making

Rao, Vikram Mohan 01 January 2021 (has links)
In recent years, new regulatory guidance has spurred organizations to replace hazardous chemicals with safer alternatives. The factors and influences that shape decisions to transition to safer chemicals are of interest to decision scientists. Previous studies have examined the role that various factors, such as regulation, health impacts, and environmental impacts, have played in shaping such decisions. However, two key research gaps have been identified. First, existing semi-quantitative-based studies do not adequately capture the complexity of decision-making. Second, no in-depth qualitative study of a current substitution process, elucidating decision-making mechanisms at various stages of the design process, has yet been performed. The current research addresses these gaps. The first component of the study is an extensive survey of product and chemical manufacturers to elicit potential tradeoffs concerning final product design and redesign decisions. Such tradeoffs are characterized by a set of six factors affecting product design, which are further disaggregated into thirty-three attributes distributed across these factors. Statistical methods including Bayesian Dirichlet modeling and Principal Component Analysis were used to show: 1) two factors were statistically significantly different than other factors, 2) how features such as company size and time of decision affected factor weighting, and 3) that nine principal components explain 79% of the variance in the attribute scores. The second component of the study was a phenomenological assessment of a current substitution process: replacement of cadmium with Zn-Ni for aircraft components, undertaken by the U.S. Navy and Air Force. This study synthesized existing research in cognition, decision-making, and knowledge management. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with participants representing engineering, environmental, safety, and management disciplines. Qualitative analysis was used to identify and characterize the underlying mechanisms guiding the decision process, including external/internal influences, organizational structure and inertia, and innovative team problem solving. The results from this research contribute to theoretical knowledge in decision-making and cognition, as well as practical knowledge for organizations and policymakers. The broader implications of this research study include a realization that decision tradeoffs vary based on decision contexts, indicating that sector-specific future policy and guidance efforts are needed.

Maeresera, Rutendo Chikomborero January 2016 (has links)
A report on a research study presented to The Department of Social Work School of Human and Community Development Faculty of Humanities University of Witwatersrand In partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree Master of Arts in the field of Social Development. March 2016. / Education plays an integral role in human development. It encompasses growth in several dimensions of human well-being. The purpose of this study was to explore factors that are contributing to unsatisfactory performance in Government Schools in the area of Duduza Township, a community in the East rand, Gauteng. Based on the qualitative research conducted, the researcher adopted a multiple case study as a research design. The researcher utilised purposive non-probability sampling in selecting the 15 learners and six key informants. Multiple methods of data collection were used through focus group discussions with learners and individual interviews with key informants. The most important problems that emerged from the thematic content analysis of the discussions included factors in the home environment of learners in that there is lack of parental involvement and motivation. In the school environment, the study showed that challenges were faced due to the usage of English as the medium of instruction, teachers’ discrimination of learners aged 18years and above, condoning or progressing of learners, overcrowding in classes and the usage of inexperienced teachers in critical grades. Furthermore, the study highlighted that one of the community related factors affected learners is their socio-economic background. In view of the study’s findings and conclusions in relation to the factors contributing to unsatisfactory performance in Government Schools, the researcher proposed intervention strategies to be implemented on micro, meso and macro level. In addition, emphasis should be put on revisiting the policy of progressing learners, the improvement of learning outcomes and raising passing grades. A multi-sectoral approach is crucial for all stakeholders comprising of the Department of Basic Education, the Department of Social Development, the school, parents and learners. Measures and recommendations to address the challenges of poor performance have been outlined / GR2017

Destinationskommunikation i det nya nätverkssamhället : En analys av de nordiska ländernas destinationsorganisationers digitala nätverk

Karm Togo, Lisa, Backlund, Linn January 2013 (has links)
The purpose of this paper is to identify the Nordic national destination organizations' digital networks. After analyzing the network and the different platforms the result is used to discuss how we can generalize an optimal utilization of a destination network. Questions that were used for this this were: What does the Nordic countries' national destination organizations digital network look like? And, How has social networking trends influenced the Nordic countries' national destination communication? The theoretical framework that was used for this research was network analysis and the Network Society. Van Dijk's theory about the trends that exist in today's networked society was specifically used as base for this research. With the tourism industry and its digital network as a subject, it was also relevant to take into account the industry conditions and what is advocated within strategic communication for social media. The method used to conduct the study is quantitative network analysis and content analysis. The study showed that the Nordic national destination network society organizations follow the trends in many ways, but there is capacity to develop it even more. They consciously use user-generated content, converse and use visual content for expression. The networks could have a higher density and/or develop the idea of ”personalization” more. The concentration of selected channels, includes the popular "Big Three" - Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. The Nordic countries are well placed to be at the forefront of the online communication as the Internet is widely used in all the Nordic countries, which generate a high Internet awareness in these countries. Despite this, there is not a clear picture of the organization using their digital network optimally. The variations of how the organizations use their networks shows that all of the countries can find opportunities for even more progress.

New market entry for charter management organizations : building a strategic framework for successful growth

Bauserman, Alexis Chandler 11 December 2013 (has links)
The following report is an investigation of growth strategies for charter management organizations. The report begins with an overview of the School Choice Movement and its introduction of market forces into the public education system. Drawing from the private, nonprofit and education sectors, the report introduces three existing frameworks for organizational growth and new market entry. The report evaluates the robustness of each of these frameworks as well as their applicability to charter school expansion through the lens of a case-study investigation of IDEA Public Schools’ expansion from the Rio Grande Valley to the Austin, Texas education market. The report concludes by introducing a new, cross-sector framework for charter expansion that brings together the strengths of existing models as well as the lessons learned from the IDEA case. The framework consists of four phases: pre-expansion, geographic market selection, growth mechanism selection and implementation. / text

Six principles of effective global talent management

Stahl, Günter, Björkman, Ingmar, Farndale, Elaine, Morris, Shad S., Paauwe, Jaap, Stiles, Philip, Trevor, Jonathan, Wright, Patrick January 2012 (has links) (PDF)
To determine how leading companies in North America, Europe, and Asia develop and sustain strong talent pipelines, this research investigates talent management processes and practices in a sample of 37 multinational corporations, selected on the basis of their international scope, reputation, and long-term performance. In-depth case studies and a Web-based survey of human resources professionals identify various effective practices that can help companies attract, select, develop, and retain talent. However, the results suggest that competitive advantage comes not primarily from designing and implementing best practices but rather from the proper internal alignment of various elements of a company's talent management system, as well as their embeddedness in the value system of the firm, their links to business strategy, and their global coordination.
