Enterprise Architecture Analysis : - Astudy of the IT landscape atAstraZeneca

Westerberg, Per January 2015 (has links)
A case study at a global pharmaceutical company has been conducted toanalyse how the Hidden Structure method using the Enterprise Architecture Analyses(EAAT) tool, developed at KTH, can be used to visualize the IT architecture and tocreate a better understanding on which applications could increase a risk of therobustness of the architecture if changes was done to them. Also the measure of ITsupport metrics as incidents and changes per system has been analysed to understandif they can be used to understand the robustness of the incident. The tool was used tocreate a model of the enterprise architecture of the company and the analysis showedthat the robustness of the IT architecture was good; the core applications that couldcreate most damage were identified. The analysis of the IT support metrics showedthat it was difficult to use the change records as indicators since the number ofchanges per systems were very few. The incident analysis showed that the systemswith the highest number of incidents were classified as belonging core or peripheralcategory.

Drechsler, Florian 11 May 2011 (has links)

L'analyse probabiliste en composantes latentes et ses adaptations aux signaux musicaux : application à la transcription automatique de musique et à la séparation de sources / Probabilistic latent component analysis and its adaptation to musical signals : application to automatic music transcription and source separation

Fuentes, Benoît 14 March 2013 (has links)
Automatic music transcription consists in automatically estimating the notes in a recording, through three attributes: onset time, duration and pitch. To address this problem, there is a class of methods which is based on the modeling of a signal as a sum of basic elements, carrying symbolic information. Among these analysis techniques, one can find the probabilistic latent component analysis (PLCA). The purpose of this thesis is to propose variants and improvements of the PLCA, so that it can better adapt to musical signals and th us better address the problem of transcription. To this aim, a first approach is to put forward new models of signals, instead of the inherent model 0 PLCA, expressive enough so they can adapt to musical notes having variations of both pitch and spectral envelope over time. A second aspect of this work is to provide tools to help the parameters estimation algorithm to converge towards meaningful solutions through the incorporation of prior knowledge about the signals to be analyzed, as weil as a new dynamic model. Ali the devised algorithms are applie to the task of automatic transcription. They can also be directly used for source separation, which consists in separating several sources from a mixture, and Iwo applications are put forward in this direction

Evaluation des services écosystémiques par la méthode des matrices de capacité : analyse méthodologique et applications à l'échelle régionale / Ecosystem services assessment based on the capacity matrix : methodological analysis and regional-scale applications

Campagne, Carole Sylvie 05 November 2018 (has links)
For example, a tree produces fruit that we pick, sequesters carbon as it grows, supports various recreational activities and has aesthetic value. Among the different approaches developed to assess ES, the experts-based capacity matrix is flexible and quick to implement. The matrix is a look-up table that assigns each ecosystem type a score defined by experts expressing its ES capacity. It is increasingly used in France, Europe and internationally. Three themes are addressed in the thesis: (i) methodological analysis to define and specify limits and specify methodology to address them, (ii) application of the method to the Scarpe-Escaut Regional Natural Park and to the Hauts-de-France Region, and (iii) integration of the evaluation of disservices (undesired effects of the natural environment on humans) and ecological integrity (condition/health of the ecosystem) into the evaluation of ES to take fuller account of the relation between humans and their natural environment.

Correlation of Fluorescence Spectroscopy and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5) Using Regression Analysis

Narteh, Alexander Tetteh 01 July 2015 (has links) (PDF)
This research uses Regression analysis of fluorescence spectroscopy results to correlate with Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5). Fluorescence spectroscopy was applied to samples taken from seven sample sites in the Provo and Orem waste water treatment plants found in Utah County. A total of 161 samples were collected for this research. 23 samples each were taken from four sites in the Provo waste water treatment plant namely Provo head works, aeration basin, primary filter settlement basin and the Provo effluent basin. The Orem head works, the clarifier and the Orem effluent basin were the three sample sites in the Orem waste water treatment plant where 23 samples each were collected to carry out the analysis. The fluorescent characteristics of the samples were determined using fluorescence spectrometry. These intensities were correlated with standard five day Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5) values which were used as a measure of the amount of biodegradable organic material present. Chemical oxygen demand (COD) data were also taken from these treatment plants for correlation purposes. Three different correlation analyses were made which were the correlation of fluorescence spectroscopy excitation-emission matrix (EEM) against (1) individual sites BOD and COD values (2) Provo only and Orem only BOD and COD values (3) combined Provo and Orem BOD and COD values. The correlation of Individual site EEMs against BOD and COD values produced the best results. There was a higher correlation of EEM with BOD data than COD data. The R-squared for the combined Provo and Orem BOD data was 0.756 and that for COD was 0.729. Very high R-squared was obtained for Provo Influent data and Orem Influent data which were 0.955 and 0.946 respectively. This method can be used by wastewater stakeholders in deriving quick results in determining potential pollution events within a shorter time frame. This research demonstrates that there is a correlation between EEM and BOD/COD.

[en] PRESENTE DE IEMANJÁ: DEVOTION AND FEAST OF AFRICAN MATRICES AT THE MERCADÃO DE MADUREIRA-RJ / [pt] PRESENTE DE IEMANJÁ: DEVOÇÃO E FESTA DE MATRIZES AFRICANAS NO MERCADÃO DE MADUREIRA-RJ

ANDERSON RODRIGUES TEIXEIRA 09 November 2021 (has links)
[en] This research analyzes the aphrodiasporic devotional practices involved in the 17th Festa de Iemanjá held at the Mercadão de Madureira-RJ. Among so many other public manifestations of African-based religions in Rio de Janeiro, the Iemanjá festivities stand out for their exceptionality: they are exclusively devoted to a deity of African origin, that is, without the syncretic inclusion of Catholic saints. The thesis, from the perspective of ritual, investigates the materialities triggered by festive devotion in the market transformed into terreiro-territory. In this study, such materialities are understood by the uses of the body, space and votive elements in circulation through the paths of the devotees. The festive cycle in this secular space takes place throughout the entire month of December, when the faithful deposit offerings and written requests in front of the statue of the honored divinity, creating a real flow of gifts. However, once the festival is understood as a ritual and, therefore, as a procedural structure, the months preceding the culmination of the event, which in 2019 took place predominantly within the market, are also part of this ethnographic journey. However, the letters and gifts offered to the Mãe d água in the construction of the devotional setting, whose central icon is the statue of Iemanjá in human proportion, are also examined. So, examining the festive cycle through the paths of social actors and the things involved in devotion, the polysemy of festive making is unleashed.

E-banking operational risk assessment. A soft computing approach in the context of the Nigerian banking industry.

Ochuko, Rita E. January 2012 (has links)
This study investigates E-banking Operational Risk Assessment (ORA) to enable the development of a new ORA framework and methodology. The general view is that E-banking systems have modified some of the traditional banking risks, particularly Operational Risk (OR) as suggested by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision in 2003. In addition, recent E-banking financial losses together with risk management principles and standards raise the need for an effective ORA methodology and framework in the context of E-banking. Moreover, evaluation tools and / or methods for ORA are highly subjective, are still in their infant stages, and have not yet reached a consensus. Therefore, it is essential to develop valid and reliable methods for effective ORA and evaluations. The main contribution of this thesis is to apply Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) and Tree Augmented Naïve Bayes (TAN) classifier as standard tools for identifying OR, and measuring OR exposure level. In addition, a new ORA methodology is proposed which consists of four major steps: a risk model, assessment approach, analysis approach and a risk assessment process. Further, a new ORA framework and measurement metrics are proposed with six factors: frequency of triggering event, effectiveness of avoidance barriers, frequency of undesirable operational state, effectiveness of recovery barriers before the risk outcome, approximate cost for Undesirable Operational State (UOS) occurrence, and severity of the risk outcome. The study results were reported based on surveys conducted with Nigerian senior banking officers and banking customers. The study revealed that the framework and assessment tools gave good predictions for risk learning and inference in such systems. Thus, results obtained can be considered promising and useful for both E-banking system adopters and future researchers in this area.
