Syftet med detta projekt har varit att få insyn i lämpliga arbetssätt och metoder för att designa mönster i allmänhet och mattor i synnerhet. Att få kontakt med befintliga mattproducenter och designers och se hur de går tillväga. Även insikt i processen om hur man överför mönsterdesign till en produkt. Mitt mål var att ta fram en välfungerande matta för privat bruk inomhus. Detta med tilltalande färgkomposition.   Utifrån flera studiebesök, enkät, intervjuer, djupstudie, hela min designprocess och ett mycket givande samarbete med mattföretaget Kateha, så har projektet utmynnat i en handtuftad matta – ”Glänta”. Glänta är en handtuftad matta i förnyelsebar ull. Material och teknik är valda för att mattan skall ha potential till en längre livslängd. I valet av mönster och färger har jag tagit inspiration från naturen. Naturen är någonting som brukar vara långsiktigt gångbart. Vilket bordar för en längre estetisk varaktighet på produkten.

Ambos problematizam os conceitos de espaço, vacuidade e plenitude, e utilizam práticas e estratégias de produção da obra nas quais se manifesta o sentido multimídia da arte contemporânea ao vincular os trabalhos deles com outras disciplinas como o design, a fotografia ou a arquitetura. O processo construtivo do trabalho, tanto de Caldas quanto de Matta-Clark, reflete possibilidades de que a partir do encontro com o espectador abrir-se o momento em que o vazio consegue sua potência poética. Realizada a partir de métodos e suportes diversificados, a produção de Gordon Matta-Clark desponta como um exemplo significativo no desenvolvimento da arte, sobretudo a partir da década de 1960/70 (momento caracterizado pela ampliação da atuação e direcionamento das pesquisas estéticas contemporâneas). Distante dos limites definidos pela prática artística institucional, o artista dedicou-se a investigar novas e inusuais formas de atuação, articulando processo e apropriação como estratégias de intervenção. Tensionando composição material e temporal do objeto/espaço, Matta-Clark expõe a relação entre constituição material e comportamento. Usando o edificado como matéria prima, lida com a dimensão discursiva do espaço evidenciando a imprescindível relação existente entre arquitetura, contexto e urbano. Das experimentações materiais e destaque do contexto social em Garbage Wall (1970); alteração da percepção sobre objeto arquitetônico e seu contexto em Splitting (1974); ao questionamento da limitada atuação do público frente à transformação urbana de Conical Intersect (1975); Matta-Clark opera em uma área de transição, mobilizando reflexões sobre estruturas (materiais, discursivas e simbólicas) fundamentais para a definição dos espaços e sociedade de seu tempo. Frente à atualidade e relevância de Gordon Matta-Clark, a presente dissertação propõe um estudo sobre sua a trajetória, partindo da relação entre esta e os campos da Arte e Arquitetura. / Made from diverse methods and supports, Matta-Clarks production emerges as a significant example in the development of contemporary art, especially since the 1960s and 1970s (moment characterized by the amplification of the activity and direction of contemporary aesthetic researches). Far from the limits defined by institutional artistic practice, the artist devoted himself to investigate new and unusual forms of action, articulating process and appropriation as intervention strategies. Tensioning the material and temporal composition of the object/space, Matta-Clark exposes the relation between material constitution and behavior. Using built as raw material, deals with the discursive dimension of space highlighting the essential relationship between architecture, context and the urban. From the material experiments and emphasis of the social context in Garbage Wall (1970); alteration of the perception about architectural object and its context in Splitting (1974); to the questioning of the limited action of the public in face of the urban transformation of Conical Intersect (1975); Matta- Clark operates in a transition area, mobilizing reflections about the structures (material, discursive and symbolic) fundamental for the definition of spaces and society of his time. In the view of the present and relevance of Gordon Matta- Clark, this dissertation proposes a study about his trajectory, starting from the relation between it and the fields of Art and Architecture.

Memoria para optar al título de Arquitecto

La problemática arquitectónica de realizar un homenaje a Matta en su centenario el 11.11.11 es interés personal y coincide con Ley N° 20.132 que “Autoriza la construcción de un monumento en memoria del artista Roberto Matta Echaurren”. El proyecto aborda el tema de cómo la arquitectura puede apropiarse de un personaje y cómo este personaje puede ser incorporado a su proyecto de manera formal para entenderlo de una manera perceptual, conceptual y espacial.

Por um lado, ele aborda o processo desses trabalhos, em papel e em vídeo, procurando informar ao leitor as escolhas presentes na sua realização, bem como, refletir sobre algumas noções que alimentam o processo. São elas: \"ausência de simbolização\", indissociação, desobstrução, fluxo e \"uso de uma forma mínima\". Por outro, em consonância a essas noções, o estudo procura dar conta de um pequeno grupo de nomes da história da arte que por contiguidade conceitual, metodológica ou formal dialoga com o meu processo. São estudados prioritariamente três artistas: Lucio Fontana (1899 - 1968), Roy Lichtenstein (1923 - 1997) e Gordon Matta-Clark (1945 - 1978). As imagens dos trabalhos realizados em papel durante o curso fazem parte desse documento, bem como um DVD com o registro dos vídeos desenvolvidos. / This study is part of the artistic work over PHD course. [pt] Lembretes desmoralizantes (demoralizing reminders) é uma expressão criada pelo artista para designar grandes áreas habitacionais abandonadas como uma crítica explícita ao discurso arquitetônico e uma denúncia à fragilidade do sistema de produção do espaço capitalista. É também o título deste trabalho que propõe uma leitura dos buildings cuts realizados pelo artista Gordon Matta-Clark (1943-1978) no período compreendido entre 1974-1978, ancorado em seus escritos, cartas, declarações, artcards, entrevistas, fotografias e filmes, desenvolvendo um percurso de leitura que mapeia as constelações de sua pulsão crítica cujo modo de operar baseia-se em uma visão de tempo cíclico, de separação, preparação, consumo e novas semeaduras. A espetacularização produzida pela crítica tratando seus building cuts como produtos, objetos acabados ainda que efêmeros, enquanto uma nova linguagem desenvolvida pelo artista obscureceu a especificidade tratada em cada um deles, as relações com a documentação, com a performance, com o contexto. A tese Lembretes desmoralizantes procura analisa-los à luz do discurso do artista mostrando que há um deslocamento permanente entre ideia, escrita e gesto em um processo de desdobramentos contínuo onde a ação de desfazer promovia uma necessidade permanente de questionar o estado das coisas, nos lembrando da necessidade de colocar tudo em movimento exatamente quando nos sentimos confortáveis. / [en] Demoralizing reminders is an expression created by the artist to designate great abandoned housing areas as an explicit criticism to the architectural discourse and a denouncement of the fragility of the production system of the capitalist space. It is also the title of this work, which proposes a perusal of the buildings cuts made by the artist Gordon Matta-Clark (1943-1978) in the period between 1974 and 1978, based on his writings, letters, declarations, artcards, in his interview, in photographs and films developing a trajectory of perusal that maps the constellations of his critical pulsation, whose way of operating is based in a vision of time as cyclical, of separation, preparation, consumption and new sowings. The spectacularization produced by the critics treating his building cuts as products, objects that were finished, albeit ephemeral, while a new language developed by the artist obscured the specificity treated in each of them, the relationships with the documentation, the performance, the context. The thesis Demoralizing reminders aims to analyze them through the discourse of the artist showing that there is a permanent displacement between idea, writing and gesture in a process of continuous unfolding where the action of undoing promoted a permanent need to question the state of things, reminding us of the need to put everything in motion precisely when we feel comfortable.
