"faLei em voz ALTA" : ERRAGEM, voz e outros sons em performances sônicas

Rolim, Marion Velasco January 2017 (has links)
"Spoke aloud ": ERRAGEM, Voice and Other Sounds in Sonic Performances investigates the sound manifestations in my artistic production in performance. The presence, experience and resonance of the body manifest through the voice (spoken, sung, processed) and of the sound events with which my body relates (listening, capturing, producing) in time and space. My performances mix and or, depart from situations of daily life and has as its main element, the sound. Because of this, they are called sonic performances. In working with sound, I highlight the issues of duration in the Visual Arts, in their variations: instantaneous, simultaneous, disconnected, transposed, moving, provided by mobile media and audiovisual archives; Of the error that defines or not, restarts; Of memory that coexists in different planes and allows historiography and updating. The research makes use of the concept of soundscape (Murray Schafer and WSP team), the notion of noise (Luigi Russolo), the presence of voice (Paul Zumthor), created the concept and operates the ERRAGEM – methodology that seeks to update questions about time, Space in motion and error. Through ERRAGEM - to err for small formats, for small actions, I articulated the artistic production related to this research and its diffusion, to happen on the displacement, built with / on trips. Although heterogeneous, designed with procedures, different times, performed in specific places (in-situ) and, for that reason, were mostly oriented to video and audio. The ten artworks that compose the thesis were grouped into two formats-concepts: Acoustic Guides and Instant Bands, available on the Internet.

Multimediální prvky online zpravodajství a jejich vliv na příjemce / Multimedia Elements of Online News and Their Impact on the Recipients

Loušová, Barbora January 2019 (has links)
Diploma thesis Multimedia Elements of Online News and Their Impact on Recipients is concerned with the transformation of today's information distribution thanks to the development of the Internet. Media institutions use this tool as means of disseminating their messages. For the same reason they also include multimedia elements to the content. Websites allow to quickly pass on information to a large number of users. Multimedia elements, such as photos, photo galleries, videos or infographics, allow to pass on additional information, but also to catch the attention of the recipients. The aim of this study is to find out how much the audience appreciates the contribution of multimedia elements and how much they can use them during processing of the information. The theoretical part therefore first defines the particular cognitive processes, such as attention, perception and memory of news articles readers. These are further reflected with the different characteristics and social background of the news content recipients. Equally important is the description of theories and researches that dealt with the influence of multimedia elements on recipients of various types of media. The theoretical knowledge is followed by quantitative research in the form of an experiment and a subsequent questionnaire....

Remediating the eighties : nostalgia and retro in British screen fiction from 2005 to 2011

Shaw, Caitlin January 2015 (has links)
This doctoral thesis studies a cycle of British film and television fictions produced in the years 2005-2011 and set retrospectively in the 1980s. In its identification and in-depth textual and contextual analysis of what it terms the ‘Eighties Cycle’, it offers a significant contribution to British film and television scholarship. It examines eighties-set productions as members of a sub-genre of British recent-past period dramas begging unique consideration outside of comparisons to British ‘heritage’ dramas, to contemporary social dramas or to actual history. It shows that incentives for depicting the eighties are wide-ranging; consequently, it situates productions within their cultural and industrial contexts, exploring how these dictate which eighties codes are cited and how they are textually used. The Introduction delineates the Eighties Cycle, establishes the project’s academic and historical basis and outlines its approach. Chapter 1 situates the work within the academic fields that inform it, briefly surveying histories and socio-cultural studies before examining and assessing existing scholarship on Eighties Cycle productions alongside critical literature on 1980s, 90s and contemporary British film and television; nostalgia and retro; modern media, history and memory; British and American period screen fiction; and transmedia storytelling. Chapter 2 considers how a selection of productions employing ‘the eighties’ as a visual and audio style invoke and assign meaning to commonly recognised aesthetic codes according to their targeted audiences and/or intended messages. Chapter 3 investigates semi-autobiographical dramas that bear the mark of remembering, from the vantage point of the present, a time of fast expansions and shifts in the global media landscape. Chapter 4 explores how historical fictions locate historical knowledge in the decade’s refraction through modern media and reconstruct, deconstruct or ironise these mediations to meet particular cultural or industrial demands. Chapter 5 identifies two spin-offs that exploit shifts toward transmedia production and distribution by using eighties iconography as the set pieces for an immersive fantasy world, considering how and why their source texts are adapted and what this implies for past representation. Finally, the Conclusion reviews the project’s findings and briefly considers possible factors for the cycle’s deceleration and transformation after 2011. Ultimately, this project sees the Eighties Cycle as a by-product of shifts in Britain toward advanced globalisation and new mediation that have facilitated access to domestic and international mediated recent pasts. These productions operate within a distinct recent-past period screen fiction mode, engaging audiences equipped with comprehensive notions of the eighties as circulated in media. Meaning is produced in how these notions are structured; sometimes they are lauded, sometimes parodied, sometimes criticised or ironised, and sometimes they are simply cited for the sheer pleasure of recall.

Vzpomínání na tzv. normalizaci v popkultuře a způsoby jeho didaktického využití / Remembering the Czechoslovak Normalization in the Popular Culture and the Ways of Its Use in Didactics

Pinkas, Jaroslav January 2016 (has links)
This work focuses on the social practice of recollection, the so-called standardization in public sphere and possibilities to grasp this subject in history teaching. The aim is to describe this practice and at the same time, to define effective methods of its thematization in school environment. In the first part, I am concerned with the concepts of memory from Maurice Halbwachs to Alison Landsberg and I emphasize my preference for the concept of media memory as the basis for my further researches. Furthermore, I analyse models of historical education in Anglo-American environment on the one hand and German environment on the other hand. I analyse the strong and weak points of these models based on the concept of "historical thinking" and "historical consciousness". In the second part, I analyse the resemblance of memoir characters to the so-called standardization in movie presentations and their perception by users of the movie site www.csfd.cz. The objective of this analysis was to point out to the fact how we communicate about movies and which values are associated with watching movies. I linked the analysis of movie images and their perception to the idea of dominant cultural formations of the Czech society in Michael Kennedy's mind. I have analysed four movies, which, in my opinion, represent...
