O presente estudo se debruça sobre eles enfatizando o sujeito do processo, o migrante em sua partida e seu retorno. A análise tem como pressuposto a ideia de que o migrante é um sujeito multiterritorial, uma vez que experienciou múltiplos territórios ao longo de sua(s) trajetória(s) construindo múltiplas territorialidades acionadas, negadas ou em conflito a depender das situações em que vivencia no território de migração e consequentemente no de retorno. Neste último, este sujeito constrói seu lugar através dos vínculos funcionais, sociais, afetivos e simbólicos com sua família e amigos, elos da cadeia migratória, por meio de uma complexa rede migratória. O estudo em questão volta seu olhar para os migrantes paraibanos em São Paulo e principalmente os que vivem a situação de retorno, lançando mão, para isso, da análise dos geossímbolos dos migrantes bem como de suas vivências, geradas e executadas por causa da/construindo a territorialidade forjada na migração. Entretanto, a efetivação desta territorialidade múltipla não é livre de choques e tensionamentos, promotores de transterritorialidades, o que obriga o migrante a elaborar estratégias e vivenciar experiências de conflito e superação, as quais serão aqui compreendidas como performances migratórias. O estudo analisa o retorno de migrantes paraibanos desde uma perspectiva teórica fundamentada nas teorias do sujeito em Geografia, mas sob os auspícios de análise de dados dos recenseamentos realizadas pelo IBGE, para alguns municípios do sertão paraibano. / Migration at large, and return migration in particular, are issues that deserve more attention in the field of Human Geography. This study focuses on these phenomena, emphasizing the subjects of the process: the migrant and the migrant returned. The analysis takes as its premise the idea that the migrant is a "multi-territorial subject" since he or she experienced multiple territories throughout his/her lifetime itineraries. Therefore, the returned migrant built multiple territorialities which are driven, denied or come into conflict, depending on the situations that it experiences in the territory of migration and consequently in the area to which he or she has returned. Here, the subject builds his/her place across functional, social, emotional and symbolic ties to his family and friends, namely the migratory chain links through a complex migration network. This study deals with migrants from Paraíba State who traveled to São Paulo (Brazil), with an emphasis on those people living the return situation. The methodology is based on the analysis of geo-symbols established by migrants as well as the interpretation of their experiences that have been generated and executed due to territoriality - and constitutive of territoriality - forged in migration. However, the effectiveness of such multiple territorialities is not free of shocks and tensions that promote trans-territoriality. This process forces migrants to work out strategies or go through times of conflict and resilience, which are here understood as migratory performances. The study examines the movement of Paraíba migrants from a perspective informed by the theories of the subject in Geography, adding to census data analysis conducted by the IBGE for some municipalities in the outback of this state of northeastern Brazil.
