Sistema eletrônico para lâmpadas fluorescentes de indução baseado na topologia sepic half-bridge bi-integrada com controle de intensidade luminosa por modulação de baixa frequência / Electronic system for induction fluorescent lamps based on bi-integrated sepic half-bridge topology with low frequency modulation dimming control

Fraytag, Jeferson 15 June 2015 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This master thesis presents the analysis and design of an electronic drive system for fluorescent induction lamps. This lighting technology, despite being patented since the 60s, is not widely diffused in the market context. However, it is an extremely attractive alternative due to long lifetime and high luminous efficiency. The analysis circuit consists of a power factor correction associated with a power control stage, which provides the lamp ignition and current limitation. An integration methodology is applied in order to reduce the number of active semiconductor switches. The resulting topology, called here SEPIC half-bridge, presents a shared switch able to act, both in the pre-regulator stage, as well as for the power control stage. The number of elements reduction also occurs by magnetic integration. In this case, the pre-regulator inductors are distributed in a single core. For electronic system flexibility, it was inserted the dimming capability, where the low frequency modulation technique was evaluated. This technique is suitable for high power variation rates and provides a stable operation. The topology is controlled by a feedback system ensuring a satisfactory response of the system when subjected to disturbances, in addition to ensuring the correct power to the lamp. The electronic ballast designed behavior was evaluated experimentally. In this situation, there was obtained a low input current distortion associated with a high power factor. The lamp power variation range was 70% (30 W to 100 W), with an average efficiency around 82%.

Advanced Control and Supervision for the Optimization of Thermal Comfort in an Electrified Vehicle

Esqueda Merino, Donovan Manuel 08 October 2013 (has links)
Through this thesis we develop some strategies to define the optimal set points for thermal actuators, as well as an adequate control strategy for a heat pump. To this extent, different steps were carried out:- Control-oriented modeling of a reversible heat pump, thermistors, and the environment connecting these elements to the interior of the car’s cabin. Simplified but non-linear physical models were defined and used to build a Model-in-the-Loop platform, which would later be considered for the validation of the control and optimization strategies. - Control of a heat pump. The linearization of the heat pump model around some operating points was used to develop the control of the electric compressor, being the main actuator. The proposed control structure takes into account, in closed loop, input and state constraints. The performance of the structure was analyzed by using main controllers of PI and Hinf type. Lastly, some control algorithms were also proposed to control a second actuator of the system. - Thermal actuators optimization. Despite the high efficiency of the heat pump, the use of thermistors can be advantageous both for reducing the energetic consumption and/or to ensure the thermal power requests in extreme conditions. The optimization problem was carried out in two steps: offline solutions were firstly obtained solving a mixed-integer problem with predictive model, then used to derive some strategies that could be embedded in the vehicle.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The study of the best utilization of high intensity discharge lamps deals with the great global concern with energy efficiency. Electronic ballasts are the current devices that can make the good use of high luminous efficacy and the long useful life of these lamps. This work aims to develop an electronic ballast to supply high intensity discharge lamps. In order to avoid the acoustic resonance phenomenon occurrence, the lamp is supplied with low frequency square waveform. Power control and voltage inversion stage in the lamp are developed by the biflyback inverter topology. The analysis and design of this topology were performed, as well as the development of resonant inversion methodology of the lamp voltage. It is proposed one study, qualitative and quantitative, of active converters to provide the power factor correction, and their integration with the biflyback inverter topology. Buck biflyback inverter topology is chosen to the implementation of practical experiments, in order to validate the present work. The converter modeling, considering the lamp dynamic, such as the stability analysis and theoretical control strategy of current and lamp power are presented. Experimental results show that the proposed electronic ballast has the follow characteristics: high power factor (0.97), low input current harmonic distortion, high efficiency (88%) and not visible occurrence of acoustic resonance phenomenon. Modeling and control of hydraulic wind power transfer systems

Vaezi, Masoud January 2014 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / Hydraulic wind power transfer systems deliver the captured energy by the blades to the generators differently. In the conventional systems this task is carried out by a gearbox or an intermediate medium. New generation of wind power systems transfer the captured energy by means of high-pressure hydraulic fluids. A hydraulic pump is connected to the blades shaft at a high distance from the ground, in nacelle, to pressurize a hydraulic flow down to ground level equipment through hoses. Multiple wind turbines can also pressurize a flow sending to a single hose toward the generator. The pressurized flow carries a large amount of energy which will be transferred to the mechanical energy by a hydraulic motor. Finally, a generator is connected to the hydraulic motor to generate electrical power. This hydraulic system runs under two main disturbances, wind speed fluctuations and load variations. Intermittent nature of the wind applies a fluctuating torque on the hydraulic pump shaft. Also, variations of the consumed electrical power by the grid cause a considerable load disturbance on the system. This thesis studies the hydraulic wind power transfer systems. To get a better understanding, a mathematical model of the system is developed and studied utilizing the governing equations for every single hydraulic component in the system. The mathematical model embodies nonlinearities which are inherited from the hydraulic components such as check valves, proportional valves, pressure relief valves, etc. An experimental prototype of the hydraulic wind power transfer systems is designed and implemented to study the dynamic behavior and operation of the system. The provided nonlinear mathematical model is then validated by experimental result from the prototype. Moreover, this thesis develops a control system for the hydraulic wind power transfer systems. To maintain a fixed frequency electrical voltage by the system, the generator should remain at a constant rotational speed. The fluctuating wind speed from the upstream, and the load variations from the downstream apply considerable disturbances on the system. A controller is designed and implemented to regulate the flow in the proportional valve and as a consequence the generator maintains its constant speed compensating for load and wind turbine disturbances. The control system is applied to the mathematical model as well as the experimental prototype by utilizing MATLAB/Simulink and dSPACE 1104 fast prototyping hardware and the results are compared.

Entwicklung und Modellierung einer vollaktuierten Drohne

Schuster, Micha 26 April 2018 (has links)
This thesis’ subject is the geometrical design and control of a fully actuated drone, intended to be used as a flying operating-platform for a manipulator. Starting with the general geometrical description of a symmetric drone with six rotors, methods for the application specific design of a fully actuated drone are developed. Furthermore general influencing principles of geometric parameters on the forces and torques that can be generated by the drone, are pointed out. To characterize the drone's wrench-space, it is reduced to so called support vectors, which are given by the hovering thrust, the minimum guaranteed force in a horizontal direction and the minimum guaranteed torque in any direction. Additionally, analytic formulas are derived for the mentioned support vectors. Based on the description by the support vectors, a formulation of metrics is introduced, to enable the assessment of a specific drone geometry by a single scalar measure, to determine the ideal drone geometry for a specific application. Targeting the issue of controlling the flight system, consisting of the drone and the manipulator, a concept is developed that realizes a virtual dissplacement of the center of mass by decoupling the equations of motion and therby facilitates a precise control, independent of the actual location of the system's center of mass.
