La consistance matérielle de la langue de Rabelais et de Montaigne / Material consistence of the language in Rabelais and in Montaigne

Proshina, Maria 12 March 2008 (has links)
The purpose of our research was to analyze the relationship between the language of Rabelais, the one of Montaigne and the material world. We combined a philosophical approach with a linguistic analysis, preferring this last one. We studied the use of proverbs and proverbial expressions, of regional words, of organic metaphors and their function in the material consistence of the language. Our research highlighted aspects shared by Rabelais and Montaigne. The two authors explore the mechanisms of the language, the expressions, the words and the meanings already in use, to put to use in the literary creation. Our anlysis is of comparative nature but we insisted in the differences between the use of the analyzed words, the difference due to the fact the novels by Rabelais are a comic fiction and the "Essais" de Montaigne are committed to an introspective project

Laverdure, Stéphanie Michèle 11 1900 (has links)
Arts, Faculty of / French, Hispanic, and Italian Studies, Department of / Graduate

[en] ECHOES OF SCEPTICISM IN THE ESSAYISTIC CREATION OF MICHEL DE MONTAIGNE / [pt] ECOS DE CETICISMO NA CRIAÇÃO ENSAÍSTICA DE MICHEL DE MONTAIGNE

KATARINA MAURER WOLTER 17 October 2008 (has links)
[en] The dissertation Echoes of Scepticism in the Essayistic Creation of Michel de Montaigne presupposes the possibility to scrutinize a philosophical content from different literary forms. At the same time it intends to explore the specific relation between the skeptical philosophy, as appropriated by Michel de Montaigne, and the creation of the essayistic form. Although thought and style are usually considered inseparable dimensions in the Essays, we will, for analytical purposes, treat them separately. The first part of the dissertation examines, in this sense, the existence of skeptical arguments throughout Montaigne`s work, while the second part explores the fundamental aspects of the essayistic form that seem to reveal a proximity with the dubitative procedure typical of the skeptics, exposing the contribution of this philosophical tradition in the development of the essayistic novelty.

Experiência e moralidade no último dos Ensaios de Montaigne / Experience and morality in Montaignes last essay

Scoralick, Andre 11 August 2008 (has links)
The present study aims at introducing Michel de Montaignes ethical reflexion, as exposed in his Essays. It is, more specifically, an analysis of the chapter On experience, the essay with wich the author finishes his work, and presents, as in a will, the essential topics of his moral orientation. We seek to understand the fundaments of his refusal of all normative ethics, and the project of elaborating a moral fit to the singularity of agents and the circumstances of action. To do so, we undertake the reconstruction of the authors criticism to the arts that intend to regulate human conducts jurisprudence and medicine , and to the Stoic moral. We also try to clarify the experience of oneself, from which Montaigne derives a moral that reconciles pleasure and virtue, and the agent with himself.

Sobre o \'Da educação das crianças\': a nova maneira de Montaigne / Of the education of children: the nouvelle manièrè of Montaigne

Theobaldo, Maria Cristina 14 August 2008 (has links)
Ressaltamos o exercício do julgamento, a conversação como meio pedagógico e a importância da filosofia moral na formação dos jovens / The purpose of this study is to do a read and comment the chapter De l institution des enfans, Livre I, 26, of the Les Essais, wrote by Michel de Montaigne. It contributes to discuss and elucidate a chapter that, even though its very known and mobilized by the specialized critics, over all by the educations historians, presents an interpretation work almost always little intent to the proper developments of the text. The thesis deals in two fronts: in that one of the history and the educational conceptions of the Renaissance Humanism and in that one - in which exists its main interest - of the understanding and joint of the essential elements of the Montaignes pedagogical thought. We stand out the exercise of the judgment, the conversation as pedagogical instrument and the importance of the moral philosophy in the formation of the young
