The present dissertation sought to understand the perceptions of access to justice by women prisoners in the Federal District Women's Penitentiary, based on the analysis of the letters written by them, in the years 2014 and 2015. The research universe consisted of 20 (twenty) letters sent to the Federal District Public Defender's Office of Court of Criminal Executions. The Discourse Analysis tool was used for the identification and structuring of the analytical categories. The research supported the feminist perspective of situated knowledge, the main theoretical framework, as well as other feminist theories to punctuate criticism of the model of science enshrined in Law, especially in Criminal Law, and the brazilian prison system, as a systematic human rights violator . The study points to the importance of recognizing in the letters a potential instrument for building access to justice in an emancipatory conception, based on the looks and experiences of the imprisoned women.
