Este trabalho analisou os conflitos atuais e futuros decorrentes dos usos múltiplos da água na bacia do Rio Atibaia no Estado de São Paulo. Os usos estudados foram abastecimento urbano e industrial, irrigação, e geração de energia elétrica, levando-se em consideração a transferência de água para a região metrolpolitana de São Paulo através do Sistema Cantareira e a previsões de aumento das demandas de água da bacia hidrográfica. O modelo matemático MIKE BASIN 2000, que associa técnicas de simulação, otimização e modelagem em rede de fluxo foi utilizado na avaliação de diversos cenários. Os resultados das simulações mostraram que para atender as crescentes demandas, minimizando os conflitos entre os usos múltiplos da água é necessário aumentar as vazões mínimas liberadas pelos reservatórios do Sistema Cantareira e reduzir as vazões transferidas para a região metropolitana de São Paulo, evitando assim um colapso nesse sistema. / This study analyzed the actual and future conflicts in consequence of multiple uses of water in Atibaia River Basin in the state of São Paulo. The uses studied were urban and industrial supply, irrigation and generation of electric power considering the transportation of the water to the metropolitan region of São Paulo city through Cantareira System and the forecast of increasing of water demands to the river basin. The mathematical model MIKE BASIN 2000, which associates simulation techniques, optimization and network flow modeling was utilized in the evaluation of several settings. The results of simulations showed that to supply the increasing demands minimizing the conflicts between the multiple uses of water, it is necessary to improve the minimum flows released by Cantareira System reservoirs and reduce the flows transferred to the metropolitan region of São Paulo city, avoiding the system collapse.

Marketing de lugares se caracteriza como uma ferramenta para a gestão das trocas que ocorrem no âmbito territorial possibilitando o fortalecimento da competitividade e da imagem de uma determinada localidade através da geração e entrega de valor a seus diferentes mercados e da atração de investimentos que assegurem seu desenvolvimento no longo prazo. Neste cenário, esta pesquisa apresenta como objeto de estudo o recife artificial multifuncional, estrutura implantada em ambiente marinho com a finalidade de promover a proteção costeira, aprimorar as condições de surfe e criar novos habitats marinhos. Sob a perspectiva de marketing, o potencial benefício deste programa de ação está ancorado no desenvolvimento do lugar e na entrega de valor aos seus públicos a partir da manutenção da infraestrutura local de forma sustentável, da oferta de lazer aos usuários, do aumento do número de visitantes e do incremento da rede de serviços. Neste contexto, o objetivo da tese é a investigação dos impactos resultantes da implantação do recife artificial multifuncional e da relação entre as bases conceituais do marketing de lugares com suas implicações práticas a fim de incentivar o avanço desta linha de pesquisa, principalmente no Brasil, onde o conhecimento da área se encontra em estágio embrionário. Para tanto, a pesquisa qualitativa exploratória aqui presente se divide em duas partes. A primeira apresenta a revisão teórica abordando o conceito de marketing de lugares e três grandes blocos do marketing para fundamentar o raciocínio: produto, segmentação e posicionamento. A segunda parte desenvolve o estudo de caso da cidade de Gold Coast na Austrália contando com coleta de dados por meio de análise documental e entrevista. Os resultados observados na pesquisa indicam que a implantação do recife artificial multifuncional trouxe uma significativa contribuição para o desenvolvimento de longo prazo da localidade analisada e que grande parte das implicações práticas do marketing de lugares observadas no caso encontra-se alinhada à teoria revisitada. O estudo permite ainda sugerir recomendações para localidades que planejam implantar o recife artificial multifuncional em seus programas de ação. / Place marketing is characterized as a tool for the management of exchanges that take place in the territorial scope thus strengthening competitiveness and image of a particular place by generating and delivering value to its different markets and attracting investments to ensure its development in the long term. In this scenario, this research presents as the object of study the multipurpose artificial reef, a structure implemented in the marine environment in order to promote coastal protection, improve surfing conditions and create new marine habitats. From a marketing perspective, the potential benefit of this action program is anchored in place development and value delivering to its stakeholders, through the maintenance of local infrastructure in a sustainable way, the leisure offer to users, increasing the number of visitors and the enhance in services network. In this sense, the objective of the thesis deals with the investigation of impacts resulting from the implementation of multipurpose artificial reef and the relationship between the conceptual bases of place marketing with its practical implications in order to encourage the advancement of this field of research, especially in Brazil, where knowledge of the area is in the embryonic stage. To that end, the exploratory qualitative research hereby is divided into two parts. The first presents a theoretical review addressing place marketing concept and three major marketing blocks to support the reasoning: product, targeting and positioning. The second part develops the case study of Gold Coast City in Australia relying on data collection through documents analysis and interview. The results from this research indicate that the implementation of the multipurpose artificial reef brought a significant contribution to the long term development of the place in analysis and much of the practical implications of place marketing observed in the case are in line with theory revisited. The study also allows suggesting recommendations for places planning to deploy multipurpose artificial reef in their action programs.

Renewable energy sources are getting much more important to reduce the increasing threat coming from greenhouse gases. Hydropower is the most important source of renewable energy. However, development of a hydropower project is a challenging engineering process. Several computer programs have been developed to make initial estimations on hydropower schemes. A computer program named RETScreen Small Hydro Project Model has been developed with the objective to make complete pre-feasibility studies including costing and financial analysis. Two case studies, which have been under construction in Turkey, will be used to check the accuracy of software in Turkish practice. Then in light of the results, RETScreen software will be used to make a pre-feasibility report on an existing multipurpose dam in Turkey. Electricity can be generated at existing dams which requires minor civil works. Porsuk Dam which is a 36 year old dam used for domestic, industrial and irrigation water supply will be evaluated for energy generation by constructing a penstock, powerhouse and installing electromechanical equipment.

Pesquisa do Estado da Bahia - FAPEB / This research presents a case study in the municipality of Feira de Santana-BA where it was held structuring of vector data, specifically cadastre database. The study was based on the principles specified in Portaria # 511 of the Ministry of Cities, in order to get a consistent result with the guidelines for future implementation of a Territorial Multipurpose Cadastre and be allowance for management and territorial planning. To achieve the proposed objectives, the methodology was based on the structure of the cadastre data in a GIS environment, through free softwares to enable the continuity of work by the prefecture. The main results obtained were: a descriptive database organized in GIS architecture; lots vectorized and also associated with their respective information; and examples of applications for municipal management through thematic maps (standard, tipology type, land?s topography and pedology, land use and property tax aliquots). These results, as well as diagnose and analyze the registration status, encourage the discussion of the inspection and application of the laws, and also show to be a tool to aid in the actions of municipal planning and management. / Este trabalho apresenta um estudo de caso no munic?pio de Feira de Santana-BA onde foi realizada estrutura??o de dados vetoriais, especificamente informa??es cadastrais. A pesquisa foi fundamentada nos princ?pios indicados na Portaria n.? 511/2009 do Minist?rio das Cidades, a fim de obter um resultado condizente para futura implementa??o de um Cadastro Territorial Multifinalit?rio, assim como ser subs?dio para gest?o e planejamento territorial. Para alcan?ar os objetivos propostos, a metodologia aplicada baseou-se na estrutura??o dos dados cadastrais em ambiente SIG, atrav?s de softwares livres de modo a possibilitar a continuidade do trabalho por parte da prefeitura. Como principais produtos, foram obtidos: um banco de dados descritivos organizado em arquitetura de SIG; lotes vetorizados e associados ?s suas respectivas informa??es cadastrais; e exemplos de aplica??es para gest?o municipal atrav?s de mapas tem?ticos (padr?o, tipologia dos im?veis; topografia e pedologia do terreno; uso do solo e al?quotas do IPTU).
