General objective: Developed an investigative study about the composition of social support network of families from children and adolescents in oncologic treatments, striving to know the potentialities and the impact on the life of subjects, to empower and identify possibilities of improvement of established relations and from services provided. Therefore, has committed itself to consulting theoretically the historical course of Brazilian Health Policy and about the emerging of oncology and the understanding and conceptions from different authors about social support networks. The social relations, as the society, have undergone changes and the family, as component part of these relations, also has undergone significant changes during the years. About the illness process of children and adolescents, it is necessary to understand that social, politics and cultural factors are parts of this process, following the transformations that occur all the time in the society and in the subjects’ lives. So, this requires, every time more, the insertion of professionals as the social worker composing the health teams, able to seek a networking with others sectors and socials policies, consolidating itself as a member of health multidisciplinary teams in order to understand the children, the adolescent and their family in a way that contemplate the totality of relations and for, every time more, the networking be achieved by all the services. / Estudo com abordagem qualitativa, do tipo descritivo, orientado pelo Método Dialético Crítico. Objetivo geral: Desenvolver um estudo investigativo sobre a composição da rede social de apoio das famílias de crianças e adolescentes em tratamento oncológico, visando conhecer as potencialidades e o impacto da rede na vida destes sujeitos, para fortalecer e identificar possibilidades de aprimoramento das relações que são estabelecidas e dos serviços prestados. Para tanto, comprometeu-se em consultar teoricamente a trajetória histórica da Política de Saúde brasileira e do surgimento da oncologia e o entendimento e concepções de diferentes autores acerca das redes de apoio social. As relações sociais, assim como a sociedade, sofreram modificações e a família, como parte integrante destas relações, também sofreu mudanças significativas ao longo dos anos. Ao se tratar do processo de adoecimento de crianças e adolescentes, é preciso compreender que fatores sociais, políticos e culturais fazem parte deste processo, acompanhando as transformações que ocorrem a todo o momento na sociedade e na vida dos sujeitos. Assim, faz-se necessária, cada vez mais, a inserção de profissionais como o assistente social compondo as equipes de saúde, capaz de buscar um trabalho em redes entre os demais setores e políticas sociais, consolidando-se como integrante de equipes multidisciplinares em saúde a fim de compreender a criança, o adolescente e sua família de uma forma que contemple a totalidade das relações e para que, cada vez mais, o trabalho em redes seja alcançado por todos os serviços.
