Česká národní banka, právní postavení a náplň činnosti / The Czech National Bank, its legal position and scope of activities

Krajíčková, Lucie January 2018 (has links)
The Czech National Bank, its legal position and scope of activities Abstract As the theme of my thesis, I have chosen the Czech National Bank, its legal position and scope of activities. The aim is to analyze the legal position and activities of the CNB. This is a very large topic, due to the wide activities of the CNB at national, European and international level. The CNB is and independent, highly credible and very powerful institution. The CNB is the central bank of the Czech Republic, the financial market supervision authority and the authority to solve crisis. Its main objective is to maintain price stability. Due to the wide range of tasks, I focused on the assessment its monetary policy as its most important business. The implementation of monetary policy is based on the ability to choose the level of interest rates that will keep inflation at a low but stable level and there will be no unnecessary slowdown or acceleration of the growth rate of the economy. The aim of the CNB's transmission mechanism is to keep the overall inflation in the narrow corridor at 1-3 %. By comparing the real development of the average quarterly inflation rate and the forecast of monetary policy-relevant inflation for the period from 3.Q 2008 to 2.Q 2019, it can be concluded that the caused fluctuations could be hardly...

Karel Engliš mezi prvorepublikovou elitou / Karel Engliš among the Elite of the First Republic

Hlaváč, Martin January 2015 (has links)
The main goal of my dissertation is to analyze the personality of Engliš, who was an important representative of the scientific and financial elites during the period of the First Republic. I will venture to explain the causes of his rise during the First Republic and aim to characterize his relations with other elites. The term "elite" refers not only to representatives of the political and financial life of the First Republic, but also to the important leaders of its scientific and cultural scenes. In my dissertation I want to address the relationships between the elite of the First Republic and Karel Engliš. Public opinion played an important role in the relations between Engliš and the elite of the First Republic, in particular as Engliš was presented in the media and how the public perceived him. His family was supportive of Karel Engliš but also caused him many problems. I have found the main material for my thesis in the archive of the National Museum (Archiv Národního muzea), the Literary Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature (Literární archiv Památníku národního písemnictví), the archive of Charles University (Archiv Univerzity Karlovy), the archive of Masaryk University in Brno (Archiv Masarykovy univerzity v Brně) and the archive of the National Bank of the Czech Republic (Archiv...

Dohled nad finanční činností / Supervision of financial activity

Pekárek, Štěpán January 2018 (has links)
Supervision of financial activity Abstract The activity of entities operating on the financial market is one of the most regulated ones. Economists generally agree that services provided by entities in the financial system are so vital for the functioning of the economy that the overgrown regulatory rules are well- founded. In response to the global financial crisis, there has been a significant development in the regulation and supervision of the financial system, in particular the expansion of the prudential rules of major institutions and the emergence of new areas of macro-prudential supervision and resolution supervision. These are largely the subject of the submitted diploma thesis. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the supervision of the financial system of the Czech Republic in the perspective of institutional and functional classification and in context with their development after the global financial crisis. While the theoretical part of the thesis defines the characteristics and models of the institutional organization of the supervisory authorities, the analytical part identifies their elements projected into the Czech legal system and analyzes the role of the Czech National Bank as a supervisory body of the financial system of the Czech Republic, integrated both from an institutional and a...

What is the equilibrium exchange rate of the Czech koruna? / What is the equilibrium exchange rate of the Czech koruna?

Jančovič, Pavel January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to estimate bilateral equilibrium exchange rate of the Czech koruna relative to Euro and to determine if the Czech currency is undervalued or overvalued relative to the market equilibrium. We employ fundamental (FEER) and behavioral (BEER) equilibrium exchange rate models, which enables to measure the currency position relative to the market rate. To tackle the uncertainty of the implied equilibrium exchange rates that differ among alternative specifications of the models, we aggregate the estimates via principal components analysis. The perception on the market is that Czech koruna is undervalued, since the intervention regime imposed by the Czech National Bank in the 2013, was defending the exchange rate floor of 27 Czech korunas to Euro. Then, we extend conventional specifications of BEER models for variables representing exchange rate interventions and forward rates offered on the market because both can have protracted effects not only on spot rates but on adjustment towards long-term equilibrium as well. The original models with fundamental factors show equilibrium exchange rate near to 25 CZK/EUR. However, extended models with interventions show higher equilibrium exchange rate, near to 27 CZK/EUR. Thus, there is possibility of slow adjustment near to the...

Měnová politika ČNB v situaci zero lower bound / Monetary policy of CNB in zero lower bound

Bohatec, Martin January 2014 (has links)
This thesis deals with CNB interventions in favor of the exchange rate depreciation of November 2013. The theoretical part presents alternative tools for unconventional monetary policy when zero lower bound is binding. This thesis then describes the experience of other central banks that responded to low interest rates. Intervention of CNB is contextualized in the Czech financial system and previous economic development. The thesis analyses alternative instruments which CNB might have accessed. Based on the analyzed data this thesis concludes that despite the long-term maintenance of weakened Koruna above the level of announced exchange rate pledge the sufficiently loose monetary policy was not translated into desired price increase.

Elektronické výkaznictví účetních dat pro Českou národní banku / Electronic reporting of accounting data for the Czech national bank

Dušek, Petr January 2015 (has links)
The aim of the master thesis is to create an integrated view on the reporting for this less evident external user of accounting information. The thesis is split into two parts. The first part focuses on the actual data collection system MtS-ISL-SUD and its successor SDAT. Individual parts of the actual system are presented together with their functions. The possible means of submission of the reports are described and evaluated from different perspectives. The first part of the thesis also includes European requirements for the financial market supervision, on which the data collection is based. Second part of the thesis is devoted to the reports themselves. In three subchapters are presented the groups of reports with regards to the respective legislation. In the end the inner structure of the reports is presented on a chosen example.
