Měnová intervence ČNB ve světovém kontextu / CNB Monetary Intervention in Global Context

Bejdová, Markéta January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis describes the intervention of the Czech National Bank in November 2013 in terms of current economic theory and practice as well as its justification. In the first theoretical part is presented actual literature dealing with the zero lower bound (ZLB). This part is divided to general description of ZLB, its prevention and possibilities of monetary policy. Further are described experiences from Japan and other countries which achieved ZLB. In this context is also presented intervention made by the Czech National Bank. Hypothesis whether the intervention was justified is tested by linear and nonlinear Taylor rule. Estimate is made by the least squares method using quarterly data from the CSO and CNB. The results of model confirm the hypothesis, which means that the optimal monetary policy interest rate would fall below zero.

A literature study about learning organisations : the theory and existing measurement tools regarding the contribution of learning to profitability and return on investment

Myburgh-Leendertz, Ilse 03 1900 (has links)
Thesis (MBA)--Stellenbosch University, 2008. / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Within a highly regulated industry such as banking, learning takes place not only to better equip staff to deal with problems which may cross their paths, but to enable them to develop and grow into new roles within the bank. In addition to the regulation in the industry, there is also legislation goveming the learning providers within the industry. These learning providers have to abide by multiple rules and regulations set out by the Skills Development Act and the Banking Sector Training Authority, which grants accredited training-provider status to in-house learning departments of the various banks. With all the reports and returns that now have to be submitted to the Department of Labour, and the Skills Development levy that is paid to the South African Revenue Service, businesses are turning their attention to the amount of money actually being spent on training, and are starting to ask pertinent questions about the impact of learning. To answer these questions, the learning strategies that organisations adopt in order to become learning organisations need to be scrutinised and analysed, before moving on to how the measurement of retum on investment in learning can be determined and integrated into the balanced scorecard measurement for learning and growth. In the course of this study, the issues mentioned above will be discussed from a generic, theoretical point of view, before applying them specifically to the case of First National Bank.

Právní aspekty přijetí jednotné evropské měny v České republice / Legal aspects for the adoption of common European currency in the Czech Republic

Růžička, Michal January 2011 (has links)
Legal aspects of the single European currency adoption in the Czech Republic The Czech Republic as a member state of the European Union is obliged to adopt the single European currency as soon as possible. This commitment is connected with plenty of tasks that have to precede the euro adoption. The fulfilment of convergence and legal criteria belongs to main assignments. The purpose of my thesis is to define the main aspects connected with the adaptation process of the Czech legal environment according to demands of the European law that have to precede the euro introduction and prepare a suitable environment for its troublefree functioning. The thesis consists of five chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of the single European currency adoption. First chapter is introductory and outlines the main questionable issues that I deal with in my thesis. Second chapter brings general aspects of the single European currency introduction, especially explains briefly a history of the constitution of the economic and monetary union, further specifies legal and economic conditions necessary for euro adoption. A brief appraisal of the functioning of this unique concept is included at the end of this chapter. Third chapter focuses at the beginning on evaluation of fulfilment of legal and...

Měnová politika Maďarské národní banky a možnost zavedení eura v Maďarsku / Monetary Policy of the Hungarian National Bank and the Possibility of Adoption Euro in Hungary

Londýn, Radek January 2009 (has links)
Whatever country gives up its currency and adopts the currency of the common union, has to count on some impacts. The country loses its exchange rate convergential channel and the convergency is running throught the inflation. The level of the inflation pain depends on the difference in the economic level between those two areas, i.e. Hungary and the European Union. If Hungary adopts euro, it would lead to high inflation and numerous shocks due to Hungarian low level of convergency and different monetary policy transmission mechanism. Hungary has no chance to avoid adoption of euro in the log run, but if it keeps forint for at least a few years, Hungary can expect a tolerable inflation, more natural convergential process and the possibility to use its own monetary policy, which in Hungary is based right on the exchange rate channel of monetary transmission.
