In the last two decades have been observed changes in indicators of morbidity and mortality in Brazil. It is a period in which, besides the advent of the National Health System and the Family Health Strategy (PSF), relevant changes occurred in the macro-economic and social development. In order to consolidate these positive changes, it is necessary, above all, understand the impact factors, in order to organize health services consistently with your facing. Thus, the present study examined all municipalities in the state of São Paulo in the period 1998-2008, considering three distinct epidemiological trends, using four dependent variables: percentage of live births to mothers without prenatal, trend of hospitalizations for adult heart failure (CI) and stroke (CVA) and infant mortality, and to associate with six independent variables for correction: gross domestic product (GDP) per capita, coverage of the Family Health Strategy (FHS), population size of the municipalities covered by PACS (Program Community Health Workers), IPRS (São Paulo Index of Social Responsibility) and per capita income, through models of repeated measures. The results of this study are presented in this thesis in the form of 03 articles, and the main results are: a) a significant decrease in the percentage of live births to mothers without prenatal care during the study period, and a negative correlation between dependent and variables: GDP per capita, population coverage of PSF and population size, b) there was a downward trend in adult hospital admissions for HF and stroke, significantly influenced by GDP per capita, c) the decline of infant mortality in the analyzed period was influenced by the growth of GDP per capita and the model of care Family Health. It was concluded that epidemiological trends observed over time require analyzes that take into account where the contextual variables, which can both generate these changes, the guide service organization / Doutorado / Saude Coletiva / Doutor em Odontologia

Exploring the Nordic State’s Roles in the Fourth Industrial Revolution : A Multi-Case Study of National Artificial Intelligence Strategies and Representational AI Discourse in the Nordic Countries

Jonasson Krook, Markus January 2023 (has links)
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a research field that has raised both the potential and dilemmas of the impact of advanced technology. This thesis draws its inspiration from studies on National AI strategies, which are countries' papers outlining their vision for their future in AI. This thesis aimed to analyze the Nordic state's National AI strategies using Borrás and Edler’s framework of the roles of the state in the governance of socio-technical systems. Through open coding and content analysis, our findings showcase the roles taken by the Nordic states. The second part investigates how these roles are objectified in discourses of AI, through Laclau & Mouffe's discourse theory and the values of construct and legitimation. Through these values the thesis analysis the language used by official state representatives’ when talking about AI. The findings revealed that the Nordic states take up multiple roles and modes of governance within AI. Concluding remarks showcased that the roles of the state in National AI strategies are connected to the discourse of representation, apart from Sweden in their strategy and Norway in the speeches. The results show that National AI strategies are primarily the objective that guides the daily work of representation.

Obchodování s lidmi: role EU v přístupech k problému v ČR a Belgii / Human trafficking: the role of the EU and the approaches to the problem in Czech Republic and in Belgium

Haniaková, Tereza January 2020 (has links)
This master thesis aims to unveil and examine the interplay between different actors in the fight against human trafficking. These are: the European Union, the Czech Republic and Belgium. A content (text) analysis of the primary sources gives the answers on how those actors work with the definition of human trafficking and to what extent the two member states implemented the EU Directive 2011/36/EU and other documents. In addition to conducting the content (text) analysis, creating a literature review and researching on different discourses linked to this phenomenon, this thesis include two semi-structured interviews with the representatives of the Czech Republic and Belgium. Those offer deeper insight into how those states form this fight in practice. They unveiled different aspects in their own approaches but also aspects that make their approach unique. This thesis examines also how the new strategy - the most important document framing the fight against human trafficking and the country's priorities - is adopted and what generally will those strategies include from the year 2020.
