This study of personnel policies in college and universities includes such phrases as administrative control, classification and distribution of positions, selection and appointment, terms of employment, teaching loads, and appraisal and interpretation of personnel policies. This study is planned to provide data on the policies with regard to the non-teaching staff as well as those of the teaching staff. From this study the writer concludes that strong personnel policies are not being developed by the twenty-five colleges and universities studied. The administrative officers apparently are largely unaware of the vital needs of such policies, and the members of the staff are reported to have little representation in formulating the policies which are adopted. Furthermore, it is evident that colleges and universities are not taking the lead in the unification of personnel policies in institutions of higher learning, and the worth of each individual employed by the institutions is not being recognized.

The purpose of this study was to show the growth and development of the recreation program for men and women in the North Texas State Teachers College from 1911 to 1939. This thesis has attempted to show in chronological order that the growth and development of the year-round recreation program at North Texas State Teachers College was a result of two underlying factors; leisure time, and the innate tendency of man to express his emotions through the avenue of play.

This investigation has for its aim the determination, in a measure, of the degree of personal sanitation existent among students at North Texas State Teachers College, Denton, Texas.

The problem of this thesis is to make a comparative analysis of the student body of North Texas State Teachers College during the fall semester of the 1942-43 session. This analysis involves a consideration of such factors as chronological age, academic classification and major, parental occupation, scholastic load, membership in campus organizations, grade point average, participation in outside employment, and the interrelationships of these factors as they affect college students.

Determination of gains made in reading comprehension and the relationship of these gains to the academic success of 545 college freshmen of North Texas State Teachers College is the main consideration of this study.

The primary purpose of this study is to determine the turnover in the teaching profession the first five years after certification. Special attention will be given to the problems that prompted the change of work.

The purpose of this study is to trace the growth and development of the health service program of the North Texas State Teachers College from 1918-1941 through Campus Chat files, the Minute Book of the Board of Regents of the Teachers College, college records, hospital records, and personal interviews with staff members of North Texas State Teachers college who have been affiliated with the program since its beginning in 1918.
