This master's thesis deals with the dominion of the Cistercian monastery in Osek. It describes the development of the dominion since the foundation of the monastery till the present day. Its aim is to present the dominion as a distinctive economic and cultural unit interconnected with a system of incorporated parishes and their collatures The thesis is dedicated to 9 incorporated parishes of the Osek monastery that were proved to be part of the dominion during a longer time period. The thesis also explores the issue of the Marian pilgrimage tradition, which was strongly reaffirmed after the Council of Trent. The tradition is described in the context of history of two of the incorporated parishes - Mariánské Radčice and Jeníkov - where it is still possible to find pilgrimage sites with depictions of Virgin Mary as Our Lady of Sorrows.

<p>The car industry has created a series of standards called AutoSAR as a response to the increasing number of processors in modern vehicles. Among these specifications is one for real-time operating systems (RTOS). This RTOS standard includes requirements for memory protection. This thesis outlines the work involved in introducing the memory protection outlined in this specification in the OSEck operating system. The work consisted of updating the operating system, implementing the AutoSAR OS API, and updating the suite of toolsused to build the finished system.The AutoSAR specifications were found to be very thorough and well thoughtout. The OS API was successfully implemented, and the data-structures needed to permit its functionality. The existing software tools were updated to conformwith the new requirements from AutoSAR, and additional software was createdto ease the configuration process.Memory protection was successfully implemented in the OSEck operating system, including two implementations of the trap interface. The memory protection functionality adds yet another layer of user-configuration to the operating system. Also, additional overhead for system calls, context switches and message passing is expected. A general evaluation of how OSEck application performance is aff ected is beyond the scope of this thesis, but preliminary studies of additional instruction counts on certain system calls have been performed.</p>

The main goal of this work is to apprise readers with one part of our national cultural heritage which is exposed at the National Technical Museum in Prague in the astronomy exposition. This heritage is the planetarium from P. Engelbert Seige from 1791. The first chapter endeavours to delineate under what circumstances the planetarium was originated, and it also includes the life of its creator Engelbert Seige and the history of the Ossegg monastery, where Seige lived and worked. The second chapter is devoted to a detailed description of the astronomical functions of the planetarium and a description of its dials and mechanisms, including pictorial documentation. In the third chapter is briefly described the development of time measurement and clock production, as well as contemporary watchmaking and scientific advances and discoveries. It also describes some contemporary clockworks of other watchmaking masters, namely Jan Klein, Eise Eisinga and Philipp Matthäus Hahn, again including their pictorial documentation. The fourth chapter describes other, but unfinished models of Engelbert Seige.

The thesis deals with selected baroque paintings that hang in the cloister of the Cistercians monastery and in the monastery's church of the Virgin Mary's Ascension in Osek. It aspires on approaching the paintings of less known baroque artists of Václav Antonín Lihm, Gerard Angelmayer and Benedikt Kern. It also aspires on setting their artistic production into the situation at the monastery. The first part describes the monastery in Osek as an important clerical centre that has ineffaceably inscribed itself into the landscape of Northern Bohemia as well as into the history of Czech Art by its baroque reconstruction. The thesis then introduces individual painters in their relation to the monastery as well as their other production. What follows is the description of respective paintings from the church and the cloister. Particular attention is paid to the scenes from the life of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux and to other saints of Cistercian Order. Graphic artworks that may be used for paintings are also included. Kryštof Loub, Tři (čtyři) generace sochařské rodiny Kitzingerů (diplomová práce), ÚDU FF UK Abstract This MA thesis aims to investigate and verify the current resources and literature about the Kitzinger family of sculptors, who created art in Litoměřice, Milešov, Prague, and Osek for three (even four) generations. Following the first chapter, which aims to critically evaluate the existing research about the family, comes a chapter entirely devoted to archival sources which reference the Kitzinger family. Through these archival sources, including not only contracts for specific works of art and the like, but also registry entries and others, I intend to present the family in their wider socio-cultural context. The greater part of the work is in the chapter focused on the so-called Milešov sculpture workshop (sometime before 1672-1688), founded by Abrahám Kitzinger, of the first generation of sculptors. This text describes and examines individual sculpture commissions conntected to the Kitzingers in northern Bohemia. Two more detailed chapters then focus on the sculpture commissions of Abrahám Felix Kitzinger, representing the middle generation in Prague (1691-1695/6) and then Osek (1696- sometime after 1701).
