• The Global ETD Search service is a free service for researchers to find electronic theses and dissertations. This service is provided by the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations.
Our metadata is collected from universities around the world. If you manage a university/consortium/country archive and want to be added, details can be found on the NDLTD website.

Análise de desempenho do protocolo CAN para aplicação na área agrícola utilizando redes de Petri coloridas / Analysis of performance of protocol CAN for agricultural field application using coloured Petri net

Lopes, Wellington Carlos 19 June 2007 (has links)
Intemational and national research institutions and companies have focused efforts to develop and promote the implementation of the international standard ISO 11783, based upon the digital communication protocol CAN (Controller Area Network), in order to integrate devices in machines and agricultural implements. Therefore, it is presented the development and the application of a model based on Petri nets\' formalism as a tool for the support, analysis and accomplishment of a CAN bus in time-critical applications. The model was constructed in an environrnent for edition and sirnulation of colored Petri nets, the software DesignCPN. The sirnulation was used for the analysis of the behavior and the performance the CAN bus for several configurations, which will be embedded in an Autonomous Agricultural Vehicle (VAA).

A LIGHT-WEIGHT INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEM DESIGN

Kidner, Ronald 10 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 25-28, 1999 / Riviera Hotel and Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / To meet challenging constraints on telemetry system weight and volume, a custom Light-Weight Instrumentation System was developed to collect vehicle environment and dynamics on a short-duration exo-atmospheric flight test vehicle. The total telemetry system, including electronics, sensors, batteries, and a 1 watt transmitter weighs about 1 kg. Over 80 channels of measurement, housekeeping, and telemetry system diagnostic data are transmitted at 128 kbps. The microcontroller-based design uses the automotive industry standard Controller Area Network to interface with and support in-flight control functions. Operational parameters are downloaded via a standard asynchronous serial communications interface. The basic design philosophy and functionality is described here.

Fleet Management Services in GSM-modules

Hellström, Nils January 2007 (has links)

This report studies a low cost hardware platform for Fleet Management Services, FMS. The platform manages vehicle data, positioning and wireless communication. The core of the platform is a new kind of ‘intelligent’ GSM modem, called a GSM module. A GSM module is basically a stripped down mobile phone that allows embedded third party application code and has an IP-stack. The report reviews the modules available on the market today and presents experiences from the implementation of a prototype based on the Aplicom A12 module. The main conclusion is that the concept is feasible though the modules' limited performance must be considered in the design.

Combining the Good Things from Vehicle Networks and High-Performance Networks

Armide, Misikir, Ecker, Herbert January 2007 (has links)

The aim of this Master’s thesis is to develop a solution for combining speed and performance of switched Ethernet with the real time capability and determinism of sophisticated in- vehicle networks. After thorough research in vehicle network standards, their demands and features, the

Flexible Time Division Multiple Access (FTDMA) protocol of FlexRay was chosen to be applied on a switched Ethernet architecture since it can accommodate both hard real time tasks and soft real time tasks. To provide hard real time capability, what this paper focuses on, a media access method was developed by creating static TDMA schedules for each node’s sending and receiving

port according to a certain traffic assumption. To validate the developed media access algorithm several examples with different traffic assumptions and architectures were generated and

investigated based on their sending and receiving utilization. A second method for validating and thus proving the functionality of the algorithm was by simulation. Therefore the Matlab Simulink

media library extension TRUE TIME was used to simulate a simple example with 100% sending and receiving utilization for each node.
