Projektering av kontorsbyggnader i tidigt skede : Med hänsyn till dagsljus, energi och inneklimat enligt certifiering med Miljöbyggnad / Office buildings design in an early stage : Based on daylight, energy and indoor climate according to a Swedish building certification

Ljung-Duarte, Paulina, Lundberg, Tilda January 2013 (has links)
Environmental certification of buildings becomes more important as demand from e.g. property owners, potential customers and tenants increases. More and more investors therefore choose to certificate their building projects with some of today’s environmental systems of certification. For an architect it means a more extensive challenge, since it requires higher claims for the building to achieve the desired certification. Some requirements for the authorisation affect big parts of the design of the building. The task is for the architect to achieve a good balance between the requirements and the design of the building. It is therefore very important to plan properly from the start of the process. This project aims to increase the knowledge among architects in the early stage of building process when it comes to office buildings with a certification according to the system Miljöbyggnad. The analysis will be made of calculations for every indicator that directly affects the design of the building and have a special importance in the early stage of the building process. Daylight, energy and the indoor environment judged according to Miljöbyggnad. The studies will be made by a fictitious building placed in Stockholm with the representative properties of a normal office building recording to the building standards of today. Our results in this thesis show that there is a possible way to build an office building with a relatively high portion of window of the building façade, and considered that still accomplish the requirements to achieve the level Silver Miljöbyggnad. There is one thing that seems to be an assumption for this kind of office building, it has to be mobile shading for the windows. Alternatively some other kind of shading that also allow an highly inlet of daylight which at the same time let big part of the total energy from the sun out of the building during warm and sunny days. One other condition to accomplish the level of Silver is that a heat source will be placed under the windows, to make the indoor climate pleasant during winter season. As a conclusion of our analyses it seems that the hardest thing to accomplish is the balance between a good daylight factor, low solar load and at the same time a satisfying thermal climate during summer time.

Novostavba administrativní budovy na Květné ulici v Brně / Office building on Květná street in Brno

Stejskalová, Marie January 2010 (has links)
The street, the blind wall of the porter´s lodge and the house on the neighbour lot gave the building an appearance of horizontal skyscraper, which is developed inside the house. The building, which „had fallen down“, got stuck over the ground. This tension is raised by the slope, which causes volume steps of the building, defining separated sections. Respect to the aged representatives of nature cut round glazed atriums.

RING! - dostavba městského okruhu v Brně / RING! - Completion of the Ring Road in Brno

Chomjaková, Zuzana January 2013 (has links)
The new urban structure is based on a moving out of the railway and bus station. These parcels are used as public places. It is a new large city park and underground two-storey parking house. All is opened to the street Koliště by new retail spaces. The old structure of a viaduct is preserved in part from 19th Century. The viaduct has a new direction and connection with a city centre. It is a new pedestrian corridor for citizens and residents of blocks of flats connected with that line in the same level. The Six-storey office buildings are playing role of a sound isolation for these living areas. The theme of diploma thesis is one urban block consisted of a two parts. One part is office buildings and the second one is blocks of flats. It is retail and parking on the first floor. The entrance of this new part of the city is accented by the tower of luxury flats with magnificent view on the city panorama and two large roof terraces. The entrance level inside of the block is raised to the line of the viaduct. Two floors under this level are designed for a parking. This green area serves for residents of flats and their free time activities.

Comparison of a whole-building and HVAC-system simulation model with measured data from a new office building / Jämförelse av en simulationsmodell för en ny kontorsbyggnad och dess installationssystem med uppmätt data

Radamson, Diana January 2022 (has links)
Energy calculations are used for many purposes, for example during the design andconstruction phase to comply with Boverket’s building regulations, energy declarations or toachieve energy saving in a building. A main problem in the design process of a new building,is to accurately predict the energy performance. The energy calculations require data fromdifferent interacting components, which have been shown to be challenging to measure. Thisproblem arises in particularly for complex buildings, notably office buildings. Due to the lackof detailed energy models and analyses of the differences between the model and reality foroffice buildings in Sweden, this report aims to answer the question: What are the causes ofdeviations between the models and the measurements of energy usage and indoor airtemperature for the studied office building? The office building Sthlm New 04 was modeledas a whole-building within IDA ICE and the simulated data was compared with measureddata from 2021 that was provided by Skanska Fastigheter.During the design of the model, the simulation model was fed with external source files (withmeasured data) to make the model operate at the same time as the real system. Since therewas no logged occupancy data for this office building, it was assumed that occupancy wasdistributed equally in all office zones. The model has a detailed HVAC system to make themodel as accurate as possible. The result showed overall a good agreement with the measured data, especially for thesimulated district heating and cooling. However, a closer look revealed that there were somedifferences that the model did not account for. The building’s three Air-handling units alsoshowed a good agreement with an average of -0.3 °C, -0.2 °C and +0.2 °C. The resultshighlight several problems with modeling and measured data. Under the influence ofassumptions and hard to define input data, there may be misinterpretation by the modeler.Other reasons could be sensor errors or manufacturing errors by most of the errors could becorrected by a more detailed occupancy in the model. However, this study has shown thatthe detailed model can be used for a fair comparison between the simulated model and thereal building, although there may be some discrepancies. Undoubtedly, it is difficult to createa model that exactly matches the real building, but this model is a good representation thatcan be used for future research such as digital twin.

SCREENING METHODOLOGY FOR PRIORITIZING ENERGY CONSERVATION MEASURES FOR OFFICE BUILDING STOCKS

Perry, Heather Lynn 10 1900 (has links)

As energy costs continue to escalate and awareness spreads with regard to the importance of sustainability, interest in reducing energy consumption of buildings is growing. For managers of large stocks of office buildings, the task of selecting building improvement projects is most challenging. A multitude of energy conservation measures (ECMs) are available from which to select, however financial resources are limited and in high demand. Thus, ECMs must be known to be effective and prioritized so as to provide the highest benefit for the financial resources available.

The aim of this study is to provide a screening methodology for the evaluation and prioritization of ECMs for implementation in a stock of buildings that exhibit varying characteristics and locations. Prioritization of ECMs is based on predicted energy consumption savings and financial analysis. Building stocks are reduced to a manageable set by applying archetype classification. Energy consumption predictions for representative buildings from each archetype are obtained through use of a mathematical model. Twelve ECMs pertaining to improvements in the building envelope, HVAC, and electrical systems are considered and ranked based on present value over the short, mid, and long terms.
/ Master of Applied Science (MASc)

Developing office building design

Liu, Qirui 24 September 2018 (has links)
This thesis project is a developing office building, designed for a start-up company. One character of the company is that its main projects serve China, but there are also few local projects. The main goal of this architecture is to provide a convenient and changeable place for this start-up company. There are a few disciplines during design process: 1. The building has a round shape and blocks add on when it grows. 2. In the middle of the building, it is a fixed courtyard which covered by skylight. 3. The blocks are in modules and the rooms function can be changed as needed. 4. The roof at the early stage of this architecture can be used as floors in the future. The site is located in the suburban area of Washington DC, which next to the Rock Creek Park. Surrounding buildings mostly are traditional residential architectures, with sloping roof and brick walls. This site is only 3 blocks away from the main street. Therefore, the site can provide an urban context which means clients and employees can easily get into. But people do not need to afford too high price for the land. What's more, people can enjoy a pretty view while working. The building has the steel frame as the primary structure and concrete covering for the floor slab. For the elevation, the adjustable wood panel and curtain walls are used to balance with local sun orientation. / Master of Architecture
