Acreditando que as imagens se constroem por meio dos v?rios investimentos de desejo que lhe s?o destinados, que elas s?o alvo de elabora??es e reelabora??es, intentamos aqui mostrar o surgimento e as sucessivas reformula??es do espa?o de Pas?rgada na obra de Manuel Bandeira. Assim, dividimos nossa investiga??o em quatro momentos: primeiramente, tratamos do decl?nio social da fam?lia Souza Bandeira, marcado pela transi??o entre um regime patriarcal idealizado e um novo tempo de rela??es urbanas e burguesas no Brasil. Em um segundo momento, tra?amos um percurso pelas primeiras duas obras de Bandeira, A Cinza das Horas e Carnaval, compostas ap?s seu adoecimento em 1904, apontando algumas das diretrizes po?ticas a? presentes que futuramente seriam implicadas na cria??o do poema ?Vou-me Embora Pra Pas?rgada?. No terceiro cap?tulo, abordamos o desenvolvimento de novos recursos e procedimentos criativos na obra deste autor durante os anos 1920, ocorrido no contato com tr?s frentes de renova??o ? a boemia intelectual carioca, o modernismo paulista e o regionalismo tradicionalista recifense ?, cujas ideias tornaram poss?vel a cria??o do espa?o nomeado de Pas?rgada. Por fim, no quarto e ?ltimo cap?tulo, discutimos o sentido ?biogr?fico? que Bandeira e outros autores passam a atribuir a este espa?o ap?s o lan?amento de Libertinagem, em 1930, dando in?cio a uma s?rie de textos biogr?ficos e autobiogr?ficos que culmina na publica??o da autobiografia de Manuel Bandeira, o Itiner?rio de Pas?rgada, em 1954. / In this work, we analyze the historical construction of a well-established image in the Brazilian imaginary: Pas?rgada. Believing that images are made of the various investments of desire which incide upon them, that they are elaborated and reelaborated in the course of time, we aim to expose here the birth and the successive reformulations of Pas?rgada in the work of Manuel Bandeira. Hence, we divided our investigation in four chapters: firstly, we approach the social decline of Manuel Bandeira?s family, marked by the transition of an idealized patriarchal regime and a new era of bourgeois and urban social relations in Brazil. In a second moment, we examine Bandeira?s first works, A Cinza das Horas and Carnaval, composed after the poet became ill in 1904, to expose some of the creative procedures that would persist in his later work, also being used in the creation of the poem ?Vou-me Embora Pra Pas?rgada?. In the third chapter, we investigate the development of new creative procedures and resources by Manuel Bandeira during the Brazilian ?roaring 1920s?, acquired in the contact with three different artistic fronts: the bohemian scene, in Rio de Janeiro; the Brazilian modernist movement, in S?o Paulo; and the traditionalist regionalism, led by Gilberto Freyre in Recife, which provided Bandeira with the ideas and the poetical resources he would employ in the creation of the poetical space called ?Pas?rgada?. Lastly, in the fourth chapter, we discuss the ?biographical? sense that Bandeira and other authors would associate to this poetical space after the publication of Libertinagem, in 1930, starting a series of biographical and autobiographical texts that culminate in the publishing of Manuel Bandeira?s autobiography, Itiner?rio de Pas?rgada, in 1954.
