Unfulfilled potential caused by barrier disabling connection to the city structure. Relief of a city influencing reachability of its parts that causes its decline. Overcoming such a barrier could cause activation of the area without big intervention to the urbanity or function of given area.

Brno will continue to be the city and the centre of the fairs. The historical part around the pavilion A is opened to public and the fairs are concentrated around the pavilion Z, where a new city entrance is planned within a linear park, also a new pavilion and a superstructure with residence of BVV is planned. Newly, the terminal Lipová is designed with the cableway station, which is not only an attraction over the valley of Pisárky, but also represents a form of transport to the campus Bohunice and back to the trade fair center. The design of an exhibition pavilion is situated in a part of Brno-Pisárky, in western area of BVV. The Pavilion contains an exhibition hall and an entrance edifice on a new axis directed from an Anthropos over an superstructure on a significant pavilion Z. The entrance edifice in a central of pavilion is surrounded by exhibition area and its centre is plaza with natural woody plants and colonnade. Entries are leaded on galleries on this level. Galleries are opened into the exhibition hall. A restaurant has a specific view on the dominant-pavilion Z. A visitor goes through the plaza and descends on monumental stairs to the pavilion Z into area of BVV in a primary direction. The visitor descents from the plaza over each galleries to the exhibiton area in a secondary direction. The proposal offers to the visitors and exhibitors not only gathering outdoor relaxation area on the plaza, but moreover interesting experiences from galleries. The total built area of the pavilion is almost equal to the exhibition area, because the design creates the entry level on the third floor. The new building meets the requirements of modern exhibitions and will be used for social and educational events - balls, weddings, conferences, cultural events - concerts, theater, opera performances and sports events. The Pavilion will be visited by inhabitents of all ages not only from Brno, from near and distant surroundings, but also by visitors from abroad.

Obloukový most přes údolí / Arch bridge across the valley

The main focus of this master thesis is the design and assessments of the bridge structure consist of a stress ribbon supported by a steel arch. Three preliminary studies of pedestrian bridges above the valley were created and the one with semi-through deck supported by arch through cables was chosen to detail processing. This thesis includes a chapter, which deals with finding the ideal shape of arch. The computational beam model for the analysis of the structure was created in software Ansys Mechanical including the construction stages. The correctness of the computational model was verified by the secondary model created in the software Midas Civil. For evaluation of the structure in crosswise direction was created slab model in software Midas Civil. The structure was evaluated considering the ultimate serviceability state and ultimate limit state according to currently valid standards. The thesis also includes dynamic analysis.

The urban study of the river Jihlava in Třebíč is focused on the area stretching from the pedestrian bridge near „Sady na Polance“ to the Smetana Bridge. This design analyzes possible alternatives to make this river embankment more atractive for pedestrians and to enable pedestrians entry to the riverbank throughout the whole length of the river in this area. The drawing documentation of this study is scaled 1:2000. The selected urban details are scaled 1: 500. The cross-sections of the riverbed and the river bank are scaled 1:200. This master thesis further addresses a solution for the reconstruction of the central bus station. The significant point of the thesis is the partial uncovering of the Stařeč Brook, which is covered in the pipe nowadays. This stream creates a small tributary of the river Jihlava.

[ES] El objetivo de la tesis es proponer una metodología que permita la definición de pasarelas de un único vano a partir de unas condiciones de contorno determinadas, utilizando unos diseños estéticamente atractivos. Se desarrolla el diseño y la formulación geométrica de tres pasarelas paramétricas, denominadas Von Mises, Monocontentio y Bicontentio, cuyo diseño se basa en cinco fundamentos básicos: integración en la geometría del terreno, búsqueda continua de la sencillez, siluetas que emanan del comportamiento estructural, formas unitarias y detalles perdurables. La silueta de la pasarela Von Mises se basa en la gráfica del criterio de comparación de Von Mises de una viga biapoyada, la del prototipo Monocontentio en la ley de momentos de una viga empotrada-apoyada y la de la pasarela Bicontentio en la gráfica de flectores de una viga biempotrada. El trabajo incluye una metodología de formulación, que permite obtener las expresiones matemáticas que gobiernan las principales dimensiones y espesores de las pasarelas, en función de su anchura y su luz. Un análisis comparativo de diferentes tipologías de pasarelas viga permite constatar la eficiencia de los prototipos Von Mises, Monocontentio y Bicontentio. Esta se debe a su canto variable adaptado a los esfuerzos de solicitación y al empotramiento en estribos. Asimismo, se realiza un análisis que liga el enfoque de diseño y el pensamiento ingenieril con la expresión estética de los puentes. La tesis supone la puesta en orden de una particular filosofía de diseño utilizada por el autor en una treintena de puentes proyectados durante los últimos 25 años, para poder ser aplicada de manera sistemática por otros profesionales. / [CA] L'objectiu de la tesi és proposar una metodologia que permeta la definició de passarel·les d'un únic tram a partir d'unes condicions de contorn determinades, utilitzant uns dissenys estèticament atractius. Es desenvolupa el disseny i la formulació geomètrica de tres passarel·les paramètriques, denominades Von Mises, Monocontentio i Bicontentio, el disseny de les quals es basa en cinc fonaments bàsics: integració en la geometria del terreny, cerca contínua de la senzillesa, siluetes que emanen del comportament estructural, formes unitàries i detalls perdurables. Així mateix es realitza una anàlisi que lliga l'enfocament de disseny i el pensament de l'enginyer amb l'expressió estètica dels ponts. / [EN] The purpose of this thesis is to propose a methodology for single-span, pedestrian bridges, based on specific conditions, using an attractive design.This thesis explains the design and geometric formulation of three types of pedestrian bridges, namely Von Mises, Monocontentio and Bicontentio. Their designs are based on five basic principles: (1) integration into the geometry of the environment; (2) permanent search for simplicity; (3) design based on a geometry that emanates from structural behavior; (4) uniform shapes; and (5) enduring details. The silhouette of the Von Mises bridge is inspired by the Von Mises criterion graph, corresponding to a simply- supported beam.The Monocontentio prototype is inspired by the bending moment diagram of a beam fixed at one end and simply supported at the other end. The Bicontentio bridge is inspired by the bending moment diagram of a beam fixed at both ends. This thesis includes a formulation methodology that defines mathematical expressions that govern the main dimensions and thickness of a pedestrian bridge, depending on its respective width and span. A comparative analysis demonstrates the efficiency of these three particular prototypes, due to their variable depth, adapted to the internal forces, and due to fix the structure in abutments. Likewise, this paper analyses and links the design and engineering with the aesthetic expression of the bridges.The author has used this design philosophy in thirty bridge projects over the last 25 years, and such philosophy may be applied in a systematic way by other professionals. / Guisasola Ron, M. The architectural project of Exhibition Hall is located in a part of Brno-Pisárky, in northern area of BVV. The objective of the land-use planning and architectural proposal was to integrate the Hall in proximity to the second entry of BVV. The pavilion is situated on the primary northen axe, which perpendiculary join the pedestrian bridge. The binding foot-bridge is used for path between the entry of BVV and the western entry into the exhibition section. Surrounding the building is situated green park. There are open areas for pedestrian, tree-hemmed paths and relaxation spots around the entire building. The exhibition hall combines four basic parts: the western entrance connected with the pedestrian bridge, public part, storage part and the multi-purpose exhibition space in between. There are two-floor restaurant and snack bars with an open view to the south part of BVV, in particular to the Hall Z. The pavilion was concieved as a ruled rectangular volume. The creative proposal was to involve the ruled surface geometry, which is formed by connecting two curves with a series of straight lines and covers the entire building. The outer curtain wall is implied «the Curtains», reveals a lightness and airiness by dynamic effect. Geometrical curved profiles clearly point the basic entry spaces outside the exhibition hall. The western entry section allows two different points of entrance: from the pedestrian bridge to the first level and from the ground level. In time of trade fairs there are possibilities to use industrial doors along northern and southern elevations as a secondary entrances. There is a lobby space with the monumental staircase in the centre of public section. The circular shape of staircase rises towards atrium. A collaboration of atrium and natural lighting optically extends and makes easier the foyer space. The theme of the dissertation titled the Centre of Sport and Leisure Time in Brno is a design of a relaxing and sport site „Centrum Lužánky“. The subject of this project is architectonic-city-planning study, which deals with elaborating a concept of a sport centre behind Lužánky in Brno-Ponava. This dissertation contains details of the facility and the area of the current swimming pool Lužánky. The current state of the facility built in 1979 doesn’t meet requirements of visitors and sportsmen anymore. The main aim of this project is the reconstruction of the current fifty-meter swimming pool, a design of a new swimming pool placed under the ground floor of the current building, which will provide space for organizing international competitions, trainings of professional sportsmen, etc. At the same time the busyness of the current swimming pools would be lowered by building a new indoor and outdoor waterpark, especially for the group of recreational visitors. The attractiveness of the facility will be increased by the newly designed park relaxing area and proposed multipurpose area, used as a sports field in the summer and as an ice ring in the winter. Additional value of the facility is comprised by an indoor and outdoor café and large relaxing area on the roof of the waterpark. The whole area increases the community facility availability by a proposed wide range of services for health, relax and sport. The advantage of the whole concept is the mutual connection of all facilities. The entrance to the area is shortened by a designed pedestrian bridge, accessible from the south and north busy areas. The whole project is enhanced by increased number of new parking places, located particularly along the access road, the street Sportovní, going through a green zone. The road and parking places are proposed in the design of residential streets, respecting walking pedestrians. The area has a very rich sport history, which is dated back to 1922. Řešení dopravy v centru Havlíčkova Brodu / Traffic situation in the city centre of Havlíčkův Brod and its solution

The aim of this diploma thesis is the solution of the traffic situation in the city center of Havlíčkův Brod. Mainly the ground road number II/150 adjustment, which consist in the modification of the two-way traffic to one-way traffic organization in the streets Dolní, Žižkova and Na Ostrově by using the analogy of a roundabout layout, is solved within this thesis. All mentioned modifications simplify the traffic situation, improve the orientation and increase the security and the traffic flow mainly in relation to pedestrians and cyclists. Another part of this thesis is focused on revitalization of the public spaces in front of the community center called Ostrov and junction of existing cycle tracks situated on the both banks of the Sázava river. In relation to this topic the adjustment of rainwater sewerage system, low-voltage above ground network, public lighting, communication electric cables, fire brigade signal lights and low-pressure gas pipeline is also solved.
