It is characterized as empirical research, using the qualitative approach, with data collected through semi-structured interviews, oral narratives and imagery of children, photographs and footage of the activities undertaken at school and beyond. It emphasizes the importance of educational practices in the exhibition spaces and the unveiling of the imagination, having children, the arts teacher, trainers and teachers / educators as subjects of teaching and learning process. The objective is to analyze the imaginary drawings of palaces built by children from the kindergarten, in order to understand how speeches may be mediated by pictorial images of the city. Soon, they realized that, through drawings / pictorial records, reassembled scenes from his imagination through the concept of the palace and created others (own) after the visit / tour of the city. Thus, children represent their own views of the world, as heard and seen / Esta pesquisa reporta-se à leitura de imagens na Educação Infantil, apresentando como referencial teórico as contribuições de Vigotski, Sarmento, Schültz-Foerste, Araújo dentre outros. Caracteriza-se como pesquisa empírica, utilizando a abordagem metodológica qualitativa, sendo os dados coletados por meio de entrevistas semi-estruturadas, narrativas orais e imagéticas das crianças, fotografias e filmagens no espaço escolar e fora dele. Enfatiza a relevância das práticas educativas em espaços expositivos e o desvelar da imaginação tendo as crianças, o professor de artes, os monitores e professores/pedagogos como sujeitos desse processo de ensino aprendizagem. O objetivo do estudo é analisar desenhos do imaginário de palácios construídos por crianças da Educação Infantil, com o intuito de perceber como seus discursos imagéticos podem ser mediados por imagens da cidade. Logo, percebemos que elas, através dos desenhos/registros imagéticos, remontaram cenas da imaginação por meio do conceito de palácio e criaram outros depois da visita/passeio pela cidade.
