This diploma thesis strives to find an answer to the question of how the regional daily paper Pravda published by the West-Bohemian Regional Committee of KSČ in Pilsen informed about the principal events of the year 1989, namely the series of January demonstrations in the centre of Prague later called "Palach Week", about the Several Sentences Petition published in the midyear by Charter 77, about the demonstrations organized on the occasions of the 21 August 1968 and 28 October 1918 anniversaries, and about the "Velvet Revolution" that put an end to the more than 40-year reign of the Communist Party (KSČ) in Czechoslovakia. The thesis also ascertains to what extent the information provided by Pravda was distorted by the regime propaganda, and compares the approach of this daily paper to informing about the principal 1989 events with that of the central KSČ daily Rudé právo. This Diploma thesis deals with the support system for the Czech urban areas development, available in the EU Funds in the 2007-2013 programming period. First, the work briefly discusses the characteristics of the EU Cohesion Policy, and then describes the development of its urban dimension emphasizing the period after 2000. The main objective of this thesis is to analyze Czech strategic documents for the implementation of the EU Cohesion Policy and specific programmes linked to urban development, i.e. the Regional Operational Programmes and the Integrated Operational Programme. The final part includes the case study of Pilsen city, as a concrete example of the analyzed programmes implementation.

This thesis is dealed with the quantification of the effects of strategic planning for the development of municipalities and regions. The first part includes the theoretical basis of the issue, especially the definition of basic concepts such as regional development, regional policy, a region, the indicators of regional development and strategic planning. In the practical part are analyzed strategic planning through the Program of the South Bohemian and Pilsen region and their strategies with the help of studying the matter. Using indicators of regional development will be quantified impact of strategic planning for the development of municipalities and regions. Since there is no uniform method of measuring methods of strategic planning, the conclusion will be proposed uniform method of measuring the impact of strategic planning for the development of municipalities and regions.

It is proven that the capacity to form human resources and use them with a view of achieving organization´s objectives is one of the essential factors of business success. Human resource management is the latest policy of the work with personnel and it becomes the most significant component of organization´s management. Healthcare facilities represent specific entities. In connection with the reform measures of health services, privatization of hospitals and other circumstances, a trend has appeared recently to convert healthcare facilities to market entities and operate them on base of market principles. In my thesis I tried to cover and evaluate the process of human resource management in the University Hospital in Pilsen which is the largest healthcare facility of the Pilsem Region. The objective of the thesis was achieved. The thesis can be used by the hospital, especially those employees who are in charge of human resource management, to improve the process. Moreover, it can serve to experts as well as general public to acquire more information and form an idea on the situation of human resource management in a large healthcare facility

The thesis concerns the causes why do graduates of the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen perform better on the labour market than their colleagues at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts at the University of Pardubice. The thesis tries to find out what factors it is caused by. It wants to contribute to identify the appropriate measures to improve the employability of the humanities graduates. We distinguish between external and internal factors. The selection of all factors is explained and justified in detail. External factors are labour market segmentation and regional labour market situation. Internal factors are prestige of the college, professional experience while studying, extent of emphasis on soft skills in teaching and range of career counselling. The thesis is two case studies and its goal is to offer a profound and comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon being researched. Structured interviews with employees of career centres of the University of Pardubice and the University of West Bohemia were utilised. El mundo y las personas que se encuentra en un constante cambio. Los ideales cambian y se va adecuando a los contextos sociales de los cuales formamos parte. Este cambio no es ajeno a las marcas, las cuales saben que necesitan adaptarse para poder seguir teniendo presencia en la vida de sus consumidores. Es en ese camino donde aparecen marcas que nos hablan de valores y emociones contextualizados a su entorno, que nos hacen sentir que formamos parte de una comunidad que es avalada por ellas mismas. Tal es el caso de Pilsen Callao, que durante más de una década se ha dirigido al público peruano con concepto de amistad, pero que en su última campaña titulada “Por la amistad todo”, ha demostrado una ejecución emocional de este de una manera sin precedentes en la historia de la marca y en la del Perú. En ese sentido, el presente documento interpreta la recepción del consumidor de la marca con el propósito de esclarecer su percepción sobre esta última campaña realizada. De esta manera, se puede identificar si es que de verdad este cambio en el manejo del concepto ha sido bien recibido por el público al que se dirige. La población para esta investigación es de 18 a 29 años, estudiantes de la carrera de Comunicación Audiovisual y Medios Interactivos de la UPC. / The world and the people are in constant change. Ideals change and it adapts to the social contexts of which we are part. This change is no stranger to brands, which know that they need to adapt in order to continue having a presence in the lives of their consumers. It is on this path where brands appear that speak to us of values ​​and emotions contextualized to their environment, which make us feel that we are part of a community that is endorsed by themselves. Such is the case of Pilsen Callao, which for more than a decade has addressed the Peruvian public with the concept of friendship, but in his latest campaign entitled "Por la amistad todo", have demonstrated an emotional execution of this in an unprecedented way in the history of the brand and in that of Peru. In this sense, this document interprets the consumer's reception of the brand in order to clarify their perception of this latest campaign. In this way, it is possible to identify if this change in the handling of the concept has really been well received by the public to whom it is addressed. Pilsen Alternative Music Scene in 1983-1995 Lucie Marková Abstract The aim of this dissertation thesis is to broaden knowledge about the Pilsen alternative music scene in 1983-1995, especially in the framework of three main themes. The basis of the research is content analysis of oral-historical interviews with witnesses who were part of the Pilsen alternative music scene in the selected period. These witnesses were not only active musicians, but also their fans, or organizers of their performances. Their memories were further compared with knowledge gained from the literature, period newspaper, archives materials and ego documents. The first of the main themes focuses on the musical everyday life of musicians, like getting musical equipment, finding rehearsal room or institution of the founder and organizing public performances. The second part of this dissertation thesis describes the relationship between members of alternative music scene and representatives of political power based on several specific cases (Rockfest, Peace Concert of Olof Palme and repression). The whole text is concluded by chapters devoted to the ninetieth of twentieth century, dealing with the transformation of the Pilsen alternative music scene. The diploma thesis Europeanisation of Municipalities in the Czech Republic deals with the effects of membership in the European Union on the administrative structures of selected municipalities. This is a comparative case study of municipalities of various sizes and significance, namely the capital city of Prague, the statutory city of Pilsen and the city with extended powers Pisek. The aim of the thesis is to clarify which institutions in these municipalities manage the European agenda. The thesis follows three dimensions of the concept of Europeanisation (top-down; bottom-up and horizontal), which allows us to observe this issue from different angles. Research questions follow the logic of these three dimensions and the last research question focuses on comparing the Europeanisation of selected municipalities and identifying differences based on their size. The main source of the information was interviews with officials and politicians responsible for the European agenda in selected municipalities. The results of the work confirm the theoretical assumption that the size of municipalities has a significant impact on the management of the EU agenda. The thesis deals with school educational programs of institutions which organize free time activities for children and youth in Pilsen and in Blovice. The first part characterises school educational programs, free time education or institutions which organize free time activities.The beginning of this first part deals with law of free time education in school system, forms of free time education and then it deals with process of making the school educational programs, their content and structure. In practical part there is a specification of selected institutions which organize free time in which the research was done. There are the research characteristics, questions and methods of the research. Next part analyses and compares school educational programs in selected organizations which work with free time activities for children and teenagers. The aim of the practical part is to compare information which is written in school educational programs and assess the quality and quantity of detected data. At the end there are results of this research and résumé.

Diploma thesis "Media and their management in the region of Pilsen 1945 - 1955" deals with media management in the Pilsen region within historical context of the first decade after the Second World War. It starts with restitution of press in May 1945 and foundation of the radio station in Pilsen. It observes restitution of the journalist organization in Pilsen, including post-war purge of journalists. Further, it describes growing influence of the communist party on media management in the Pilsen region until February 1948 when the communist party definitively gained political power in Czechoslovakia. After the so-called Victorious February, the thesis deals with another wave of purge among journalists in the Pilsen organization and abortion of non-communist press. It introduces the process of nationalization of the printing industry and new goals for journalists and media defined by the communist party. Finally, it describes the first half of the 1950s when other press restrictions and reorganizations of the printing industry in the Pilsen region took place. It presents foundation of a censorship office, the Main Board for Publishing Control (HSTD), within the management of press and radio in the Pilsen region.
