Figuring (un)figures : reading Beckett's 'Ping' through moving-imageTiggs, Jennifer C. January 2009 (has links)
In this thesis I explore the idea that Samuel Beckett's 'Ping' is a text that 'performs' - acting on the reader to create an active response - through the act of translating the text into a different medium - one that fundamentally also 'performs'; sounds, shows, moves, that of moving-image.

The Study of Integrated Planning and Improvement Strategy for Kao-Ping River BasinTsai, Kuan-hsing 11 September 2007 (has links)
Kao-Ping river, so-called the largest river in Taiwan, is also known as Low Dan-Swe river. It is originated from Chi-San to the Lin-Yuan industrial section, and flow into the ocean. It is also divided the Southern Taiwan Pin-Dong province from the Kaoshiang Province. The Kao-Ping river is about 171 km long, the river surface area is about 3625 square meter. Its river roots supply more than 24 states and towns. It is said to be the largest river in Taiwan, not only because of its surface area, but also its nourish ability. In industrial use, in farming agriculture, or in water resource, the Kao-Ping river devotes itself as a river of life to many culture. In the raining season, the Kao-ping river has enough water supply, but sometimes in the hot season, the river¡¦s supply ability is limited.
In this study, the drainage area's background, geographic environment, climate, hydrology goes pasturage aquatic products output and population add with analysis, and in water resource takes advantage of present situation, water quality's quality and develop in plan, with future plan adds with expound in layout. It high screen stream drainage area each plan it face problem with bottleneck, will bring up and add with analysis analyse in this article.

The Study of Flow Dynamics in Kao-ping Submarine Canyon and near Kao-ping ShelfWu, Meng-lin 27 August 2004 (has links)
The interaction between the submarine canyon topography and coastal current has very important influence on the flow field around the canyon. This study aims to understand the nature of the interaction and the associated dynamic around the Kao-ping Submarine Canyon in southern Taiwan. In 2000 and 2002 year during the flood season of the Kao-ping River, moored instruments were deployed in the Kao-ping Submarine Canyon, Kao-ping River mouth, and Kao-ping shelf for one month. The results revealed sea surface fluctuations were dominated by the tide. The sea surface fluctuations at Kao-ping River mouth and Liu-Chiu Yu Island belong to mixed tide with diurnal dominance. But the sea surface fluctuations on the shelf belong to mixed tide is having by semi-diurnal dominance. The current fields of the shelf and canyon both are dominated by semi-diurnal tide. The energy of tidal current is stronger with increasing canyon depths. Results of harmonic analysis show that the current field of canyon bottom layer and on the shelf both is dominated by the M2 component. The variation of temperature field is regulated by tidal currents. During floods, shelf flow is northwestward and the current of canyon bottom layer flow downcanyon. During ebbs, shelf flow is southeastward and the current of canyon bottom layer flow upcanyon. The interaction between the temperature field of submarine canyon and shelf is pronounced. The tidal fluctuation of temperature field on shelf is especially conspicuous during spring tide. When temperature decreases in the submarine canyon, the shelf temperature begins to decline. When temperature increases in the submarine canyon, the shelf temperature begins to arise. The results of harmonic analysis reveal that the temperature field of the canyon leads that of the shelf around 2.08 hours. The current field of bottom layer in the canyon flows towards the canyon head during ebb tides. It brings the colder and deeper water to canyon head along the canyon axis. The colder and deeper water causes the water temperature to decrease in the canyon and on the shelf. During flood tides, the colder and deeper water withdraw from the canyon head region, which makes the shelf temperature increase.
The currents on the Kao-ping shelf both are largely alongshore in 2000 and 2002 observations. The alongshore mean current is northwestward. The current velocity of surface layer is greater than that of the bottom layer. In Kao-ping Submarine Canyon, the mean current of bottom layer at 195m and 245m flows in opposite directions. It flows downcanyon offshore at 195m and upcanyon at 245m. The current velocity of 245m is greater than 195m. Mean current flow of bottom layer is downcanyon along canyon axis at 280m in 2002 year. During the transition between ebb tide and flood tide, temperature fields of canyon and shelf show trend reversal. Submarine canyons play an important role in transport deeper and colder water. The interaction of canyon and shelf current field can influence the variation of shelf temperature. The tidal current velocity is stronger in spring tide. It is easier to make deeper and colder water to ascend to the shelf. The influence of current is more noticeable to adjust on the shelf and canyon temperature fields during the spring tide. The results of scale analysis show the canyon topography can influence coastal current when the radius deformation of the canyon is smaller than the canyon width. The canyon current will produce phenomena of upwelling and down-welling with tidal periods. This seems match Klink¡¦s¡]1996¡^model results.

interoperabilidade do Governo Brasileiro (e-PING) nestas Unidades.
interoperabilidade.
A pesquisa
identificou também a necessidade de maior interação entre as Unidades da Fiocruz,
padronização das ferramentas de TI e estruturas de dados, além da definição de uma política
institucional que apóie essas iniciativas de padronização. / Salvador

Abstract
Rural Tourism was first found in Europe in the 19th century; Industrialization coupled with the market economy had accelerated urbanization process and brought negative effects, which created an atmosphere of intense competition, leading to urban residents long for the quiet rural life and beautiful countryside. Rural tourism development is so striking, inseparable from its particular historical background. Since more than a century of industrialization and urbanization process accelerates and the economic and political status of rural undergone great changes. In particular, in the last 50 years, because of technological advances, production continues to improve, but agricultural labor demand declined at the same time. The relocation of population in many rural areas, leads to depression of rural services and rural communities in decline. With the move of young people, rural aging has become increasingly prominent. Development issues in rural areas attracted the attention of Western governments of developed countries, while the development of tourism and rural economic structure to change an important way.
Ping Tung industry is rich in resources, and in recent years, urbanization and recreational needs of pressure, Industry and Tourism of vigorous growth. This study explored cases around the world for the rural tourism development and strategy, through France, England, UK, Germany and other rural tourism development strategies and models of case analysis, induction suitable for a rural tourism development in Ping Tung County, The results displays that the county¡¦s rural tourism development is in line with modern green tourism, environmental protection and tourism trends in the world of national tourism policy for the current major driving directions. In the future, Ping Tung County, needs to establish the development of village tourism brand, the government initiates to promote counseling, and with the whole city and the county of Ping Tung County and Tourism marketing strategy to achieve sustainable tourism development in Ping Tung County, Ping Tung County can look forward to the development of rural tourism by attracting foreign experience to come to Taiwan, and also increases the visibility of ping Tung county in the world.

Performance Improvement of Kademlia-based Peer-to-Peer System by Integrating Physical Network into Overlay NetworkLin, Jung-Wei 19 July 2012 (has links)
¡@¡@Kademlia[1] provides a concept of using XOR between ID to present logical distance. As Kademlia uses logical distance to search, it cannot take physical distance into consideration, which can lead the result to be the closest in logical, but the farthest in physical.
¡@¡@In this paper, ping rate is used to represent the meaning of physical distance, and construct a physical network in Kademlia. The operations like lookup and search will take logical and physical distance into consideration at the same time, called PRKad.
¡@¡@The simulation result shows that PRKad can actually automatically choose the more efficiency nodes, which means the close nodes in physical network, to decrease the time using of the following operations.

A Study on Deng Xiao Ping¡¦s Military thinking and practice 1977-1997Hsu, Hou-Ho 08 January 2004 (has links)
Deng Xiao Ping¡¦s military thinking and practice played an important role in upgrading China¡¦s national power. Having the interest of the whole nation and the defensive strategic thinking in mind, first of all, Deng Xiao Ping implemented military reform during the peacetime, which involved many aspects including politics (political party), economic reform, scientific and technical development, etc. and thus should be deliberated from an all-direction angle. Next, enlightened by the collapse of Russia, East Germany and Poland, Deng Xiao Ping promoted economic reform to ease the financial burden incurred from the establishment of self-reliant nuclear military strength in late 1950s¡¦ and early 1960s¡¦. Third, with his understanding toward the modern history of China, Deng Xiao Ping felt that the leader of China must play the roles of a neutral and arbitrator, so as to avoid any internal upheaval and vicious circle of conflict among political party, government and military. In view of this, all measures taken by Deng Xiao Ping during the period when he was in power were aimed to balance the powers among different factions. As a result, the political power shifted peacefully from the hands of soldier to the ones of civil officials.
In Deng Xiao Ping¡¦s early life, he was only a member of the political committee in the army and lacked of practical fighting experience. Therefore, his military thinking and practice were primarily from his observation of changes in external environment as well as the internal system reform under the circumstance of war. As to his reform thinking, it came from trials and real practice. He tried to find out the right ways on the one hand and corrected his errors on the other hand: He refrained the economic liberalization from overheat by political interference; controlled the military by the leadership of the party; balanced the military factions and have them curb one another in order to stabilize the military in the process of four major reforms. As a planner and leader of China¡¦s reform and opening up, a leader of seeking truth from facts, and a realist, Deng Xiao Ping paid much attention to the accumulation of materials, development of productivity, and strategic thinking for national defense. In his opinion, China could get rid of poverty only when the materials were accumulated to a certain degree and became a rich country with strong military power only when its building up of national defense reached a certain scale. To view from current international situation, any reform measures brought about by Deng Xiao Ping to cope with the change of international situation in his time had been proven to be in conformity with the trend of the powerful countries in the world if judging from their effects and results. In addition, the build up of China¡¦s national defense supported by his economic reform was closely related to the future development on the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, so notice must be taken to such development from time to time. Maybe, Deng Xiao Ping¡¦s military thinking and practice can be used as a reference for any studies on the future development of China¡¦s national power.
