Sezónní akumulace využívající technologii power-to-gas / Seasonal accumulations using power-to-gas technology

Zavadil, Jan January 2020 (has links)
The diploma thesis is focusing on the seasonal energy storage in synthetic fuels and the Power to Gas system (P2G). The P2G enables the conversion of electrical energy in times of electricity surplus, for example by using the surplus from renewable energy sources to produce synthetic gas, particulary hydrogen and synthetic methane. The main focus is on the technical and economic assessment of P2G of the Gazela natural gas pipeline. Furthermore, it identifies the limits of production, transportation, and storage capacities of these synthetic gases. The technical analysis assumes the injection of hydrogen of a certain molar concentration, according to the four proposed scenarios, into the natural gas transmission system in the Gazela pipeline. The results have showen that an increase in the molar fraction of hydrogen in natural gas will cause problems in gas transport and will lead to an increase in the pressure losses, an increase in flow rate, and a decrease in the storage capacity of the pipeline. The economic analysis examines the use of P2G technology in Czech conditions. It demonstrates the amount of production costs for the production of 1 MWh of synthetic gas depending on the electricity price and the operating time of the production facility. The sensitivity analysis has shown that neither hydrogen nor synthetic methane is competitive next to cheap natural gas unless measures like an increased price of emission allowances or a carbon tax are taken.

A Versatile Sensor Data Processing Framework for Resource Technology

Kaever, Peter, Oertel, Wolfgang, Renno, Axel, Seidel, Peter, Meyer, Markus, Reuter, Markus, König, Stefan 28 June 2021 (has links)
Conclusion and Outlook / Novel sensors with the ability to collect qualitatively new information offer the potential to improve experimental infrastructure and methods in the field of research technology. In order to get full access to this information, the entire range from detector readout data transfer over proper data and knowledge models up to complex application functions has to be covered. The extension of existing scientific instruments comprises the integration of diverse sensor information into existing hardware, based on the expansion of pivotal event schemes and data models. Due to its flexible approach, the proposed framework has the potential to integrate additional sensor types and offers migration capabilities to high-performance computing platforms. Two different implementation setups prove the flexibility of this approach, one extending the material analyzing capabilities of a secondary ion mass spectrometry device, the other implementing a functional prototype setup for the online analysis of recyclate. Both setups can be regarded as two complementary parts of a highly topical and ground-breaking unique scientific application field. The requirements and possibilities resulting from different hardware concepts on one hand and diverse application fields on the other hand are the basis for the development of a versatile software framework. In order to support complex and efficient application functions under heterogeneous and flexible technical conditions, a software technology is proposed that offers modular processing pipeline structures with internal and external data interfaces backed by a knowledge base with respective configuration and conclusion mechanisms.:1. DISRUPTING THE PRISON-TO-PRISON PIPELINE: DOING RESTORATIVE IDENTITY WORK WITH OFFENDER-LABELED YOUTH

Gibbs, Jahmon Londre 01 January 2019 (has links)
The purpose of this qualitative ethnographic study was to addresses how the existence of counterspaces influences the psychological well-being of offender-labeled youth transitioning back into society. A counterspace has been defined as a social setting where two or more individuals come together to challenge deficit notions. No longer is recidivism solely being placed on offender-labeled youth that reside within juvenile correctional facilities, therefore the need for innovative programs that help develop resistance narratives and promote reengagement with the educational system are needed. In this 12-week qualitative ethnographic study the two concepts of restorative practices and narrative identity work are blended together and reconceptualized to create something new Restorative Identity Work. From an ontological perspective, the educational experiences within the counterspace (Room 21) was shared utilizing a musical playlist. The playlist is used to provide a thick description of the 12-session leadership group that was designed to be a resource for offender-labeled youth to become eligible for the high school Student Council within the correctional facility. Through the use of journals, theme songs, restorative practices, and narrative identity work, offender-labeled youth gradually gained a deeper understanding of their role in social narratives. The leadership group resulted in six out of nine offender-labeled youth becoming members of the Student Council and fostered the development of resistance narratives for all nine students.

Vytápění historického objektu alternativními palivy / Heating historic building alternative fuels

Lampa, Jan January 2014 (has links)
The introduction of theoretical part deals with issue of fuel. There are basic kinds of fuels, their properties and calorific values. In next part a summary of types of boilers depending on the kind of fuel is described. A process of burning in each type is discussed. Then the basic issue of heat transmission, heat losses and design of individual elements of central heating system is described. In the second part there are two studies compared to each other. In the first one an automatic pellet boiler is used as a source of energy and in the second one it’s a heat pump, type air-water. At the end both of the variants are reviewed and the better option is chosen. In the last part the better option is designed, into detailed design documentation. Important design values for using the heating system and hot water service are calculated.
