Paying special attention to the current purposes and propositions underlying the teaching and learning of Literature in high school we address the discussions for the inclusion of poetical songs of Brazilian popular music in the Literature classes, considering didactic explorations of the music and pedagogical approaches of the lyrics. In this way, through the approaches that consider the reading literary perspective, it is possible to make poetical lyrics interact with the poetry expressed in them, thus providing students with a learning of literature through which they can discuss issues based on a knowledge offered by this learning. Through these reflections, we present alternatives for the exploration of songs in the classroom, considering the lyrics as a mediating tool in the learning process of reading poetical texts and the use of music as a didactic resource that may help mediate students learning. / Este trabalho apresenta reflexões sobre as perspectivas para uma inserção da canção nas aulas de Literatura, de maneira que o estudo dessa composição mantenha uma integração com o ensino-aprendizagem dos conhecimentos literários previstos para o Ensino Médio. Com atenção às atuais finalidades e proposições para o ensino-aprendizagem da Literatura no Ensino Médio, dirigimos as discussões para a inserção de canções poéticas da nossa música popular brasileira nas aulas de Literatura deste nível de escolaridade, mediante explorações didáticas da música e abordagens didático-metodológicas das letras. Neste sentido, discorremos sobre possibilidades de que, através de abordagens que considerem a perspectiva da leitura literária, as letras poéticas interajam com a poesia que nelas se expressam e viabilizem aos alunos uma aprendizagem da literatura, pela qual eles possam discutir questões a partir de um conhecimento oferecido por meio dessa aprendizagem. Pelo percurso dessas reflexões, apresentamos alternativas para explorarmos as canções em sala de aula, tendo em vistas a abordagem das letras para intermediar a orientação de uma aprendizagem de leitura do texto poético e a participação da música como um recurso didático que auxilie a intermediar esta aprendizagem.
