Investigação da relação entre parâmetros da compactação giratória e de deformação permanente em misturas asfálticas densas / Investigation of relationship between the gyratory compaction and rutting parameters of asphalt mixtures

Jéssica Santiago Soares 08 August 2014 (has links)
This research aims to study relations between compaction and permanent deformation by means of Superpave® gyratory compaction and static and dynamic creep tests. Thus, eight asphalt mixtures were evaluated which were composed by same type (granite) and gradation (dense) of mineral aggregate but two types of asphalt binder (Pen 50/70 AC and Pen 50/70+SBS AC), two different levels of air voids (4% and 7%) and the addition of hydrated lime. Compaction results indicated that curve slopes of 7% air void asphalt mixtures were stronger than the 4% ones, and compaction parameters were sensitive to lime addition and asphalt type change. Static and dynamic creep test results indicated that 4% air void and modified asphalt mixtures presented lower susceptibility to rutting, but, these modified asphalt advantages were observed only in dynamic creep tests. In regard to relation between compaction and rutting parameters, linear models did not fit accurately, excepting some CDI and TDIm ones.

Estudo do dano por umidade de misturas densas com ligantes asfálticos convencional e modificado com polímero SBS / Study of moisture damage of conventional and polymer modified asphalt mixtures

Andre Anitelli 12 August 2013 (has links)
This research presents a contribution to understanding hot mix asphalt (HMA) moisture damage susceptibility according to ASTM D 4867 and AASHTO T 283 tests. A full factorial experiment design was carried out considering the factor variations, on two levels: asphalt type (CAP 50/70 and CAP 50/70+SBS), additive presence (with or without hydrated lime) and mixture procedure (short and long term aging). The experimental program resulted in 8 types of asphalt mixes (experimental conditions) which were characterized by the original properties and after a thermal conditioning wich consisted of a freezing phase (-18 °C for 16 hours) and a thawing phase (60 °C for 24 hours). Findings indicate that (i) no one mix was considered susceptible to moisture damage, however the ITR (indirect tensile ratio) of the CAP 50/70 mixes resulted ITR near to protocol admissible values; (ii) in general, CAP 50/70+SBS mixes presented higher resilient modulus, indirect tensile strength and indirect tensile ratio values, (iii) the addition of hydrated lime did not show remarkable changes in original properties, nevertheless it contributed for maintaining or increasing the moisture damage resistance; (iv) short and long term aging procedures (ASTM and AASHTO) did not cause important changes in original properties and after conditioning the mixes showed similar behavior tendencies.

Použití R-materiálu do asfaltových směsí typu asfaltový koberec mastixový / Usage of reclaimed asphalt pavement in stone mastic asphalt

Coufalíková, Iva January 2019 (has links)
The dissertation deals with the possibilities of adding recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) to the stone mastic asphalt (SMA), which is increasingly being promoted due to its good resistance to permanent deformations and high traffic load. Thanks to the use of high-quality input materials in production, this is a valuable material source. The theoretical part describes composition of SMA mixture and problems of pavement recycling. The practical part deals with SMA 11S laboratory designs with RAP ratio of 0 to 50%. Based on these suggestions, a trial section with 17 variants was placed, which varied with the content and quality of the RAP and the used additives. All variants have been subjected to functional testing not only on mixtures but also on recovered binders. The results obtained during the dissertation were used to build a certified methodology named "Methodology of application RAP to Stone Mastic Asphalt." In conclusion, the results of the dissertation are summarized.

Asfaltové směsi s vyšší životností za použití R-materiálu / Bituminous mixtures with a higher lifetime using recycled asphalt

Stromecký, Roman January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with a project of asphalt mixtures with high stiffness modulus using R-material. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of these mixtures in the Czech Republic and in Switzerland. Further this part deals with the use of R-material in the Czech Republic and chosen other countries of the world, it also deals with the ways of recycling roads. The theoretical part also deals with the testing methods used. In the practical part two new asphalt mixtures of the high stiffness modulus type with the addition of 25 % R-material are suggested. As a base for these two mixtures a mixture of the high stiffness modulus type, which was taken from an asphalt mixing plant, was used. Tests were run on the binders and several functional tests (stiffness modulus, fatigue resistance, low temperature qualities) wer done on the suggested asphalt mixtures and also the mixture taken from the mixing plant. Consequently, the results were compared. The conclusion of the thesis is devoted to modelling a construction of a road using the program LayEps, which verified if the suggested mixtures could reduce the thickness of roads.
