For analysis of objects have been selected works The Slave Isaura - written by Bernardo Guimarães and The Tenement which is a novel written by the writer Aluísio Azevedo. The dissertation aimed to analyze the creation of imagery of black women in Brazilian literature, from the works mentioned. Specifically , we sought to investigate the theoretical conceptions of the imaginary and the image of women in the construction of Brazilian Literature ; analyze in such black woman image construction of the works is represented by the characters ; identify in the works featuring the black female characters ; demonstrate the full of meanings language if there are oppression and exclusion marks suffered by Afro-descendant population and the works studied manifest forms of protest and denunciation by their black female characters , with the hypothesis of the imaginary black woman as constructed by cultural issues , social , which create the image of this woman by inserting a group marked by racial prejudice and oppression . The image was constructed on the black results from the needs of each historical setting and to identify the construction of this stereotype , it has made the necessary scoring discursive formations that circled each time . / Esta dissertação apresenta uma discussão sobre a imagem da mulher negra presente nas obras literárias brasileiras. Para objetos de análise foram selecionadas as obras A Escrava Isaura - escrita por Bernardo Guimarães e O Cortiço que é um romance de autoria do escritor Aluísio Azevedo. A dissertação teve como objetivo geral analisar a criação da imagem da mulher negra na literatura brasileira, a partir das obras mencionadas. Especificamente, pretendeu-se pesquisar as concepções teóricas do imaginário e a construção da imagem da mulher na Literatura Brasileira; analisar se em tais obras a construção da imagem da mulher negra é representada pelas personagens; identificar nas obras a caracterização das personagens femininas negras; demonstrar pela linguagem carregada de significados se existem marcas de opressão e exclusão sofridas pela população afrodescendente e se as obras em estudo manifestam formas de protesto e denúncia através de suas personagens femininas negras, tendo como hipótese o imaginário da mulher negra enquanto construído por questões culturais, sociais, que criam a imagem dessa mulher por inserção de um grupo marcado pelo preconceito racial e pela opressão. A imagem que se construiu acerca do negro é resultante das necessidades de cada configuração histórica e, para identificar a construção desse estereótipo, fêz-se necessário pontuar as formações discursivas que circundaram cada época.
