POWER SPECTRAL DENSITY ANALYSIS OF PRINTER DEFECT

Shin, Il-Won 01 January 2005 (has links)
A potential characterization tool for printer quality is the power spectral density (PSD) analysis of flat-field printer outputs. This thesis explains the relationship between the PSD and characteristics of printer defects using examples of scanned printer outputs. In addition, a protocol is also presented for scanning flat fields and performing a PSD analysis. The protocol considers sampling and windowing issues to best focus on defects or quality issues of interest. The main objective of this work is to determine the interactive relationships of print defect patterns such as graininess, streaking, and banding under flat-field hardcopy outputs. The additive and multiplicative models are considered for describing the interaction between printer defects. Simulated print defect patterns and metrics base on the PSD are used to demonstrate the patterns generated by multiplicative and additive processes. These results are compared the PSD of actual flat-field prints from digital printers to draw conclusion concerning actual artifact interaction. For all defects examined the additive model is shown to be a good model of the interactions between printer defects.

Representações compactas para processos de decisão de Markov e sua aplicação na adminsitração de impressoras. / Compact representations of Markov decision processes and their application to printer management.

João Vitor Torres 02 June 2006 (has links)
Markov Decision Processes (MDPs) are an important tool for planning and optimization in environments under uncertainty. The specification and computational representation of the probability distributions underlying MDPs are central difficulties for their application. This work proposes two strategies for representation of probabilities in a compact and efficient way. These strategies use Bayesian networks and regularities among states and variables. The proposed strategies are particularly useful in systems whose variables have many categories and have strong interrelation. This proposal has been applied to the management of clusters of printers, a real problem that in fact motivated the work. Markov Decision Processes are then used to allow printers to act as a group, and not just individually. The work also presents a comparison between MDPs and Fuzzy Logic in the context of clusters of printers.

Inkjet Printing of Paper-Based Wideband and High Gain Antennas

Cook, Benjamin 07 December 2011 (has links)
This thesis represents a major contribution to wideband and high gain inkjet-printed antennas on paper. This work includes the complete characterization of the inkjet printing process for passive microwave devices on paper substrate as well as several ultra-wideband and high gain antenna designs. The characterization work includes the electrical characterization of the permittivity and loss tangent for paper substrate through 10 GHz, ink conductivity data for variable sintering conditions, and minimum feature sizes obtainable by today’s current inkjet processes for metallic nanoparticles. For the first time ever, inkjet-printed antennas are demonstrated that operate over the entire UWB band and demonstrate gains up to 8dB. This work also presents the first fractal-based inkjet-printed antennas with enhanced bandwidth and reduced production costs, and a novel slow wave log periodic dipole array which shows minimizations of 20% in width over conventional log periodic antennas.

Experimentální 3D tiskárna pro laserové sintrování plastů / Experimental 3D printer for the selective laser sintering of polymers

Kroutil, Tomáš January 2017 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with design and realization of experimental 3D printer for selective laser sintering of plastic powders. The output of the work is a device that can create the main process conditions for laser sintering. A diode laser is used in the device, which allows aluminum composite powders to be processed. The printer allows you to heat up the applied layer of powder and set-up space. The research section focuses on similar equipment, process parameters, laser technology and control system. The design section contains solution variants and a description of the chosen solution.

Návrh a konstrukce CNC routeru pro DPS / CNC router for PCB

Gerják, Rastislav January 2017 (has links)
In mechanical industry, both additive and subtractive manufacturing methods are controlled by instructions in G-code, making it possible to utilize both technologies in one modular device. Main objective is to design, construct, and calibrate multipurpose machine based on RepRap 3D printer, which will be able to use attached spindle to precisely mill light materials. Particular emphasis is given to ability to carve a pattern and drill holes in plated substrate in order to create functional PCB by incision.

Jednostupňová převodovka vyrobená 3D tiskem / A single-speed gearbox made by 3D printing

Hykolli, Denis January 2021 (has links)
The aim of these theses was the creation of a single-stage gearbox by additive technology FDM / FFF. By chosen values was made dimension calculation for gears. The 3D model of the gearbox was designed in 3D software Autodesk Inventor. Single parts were produced on an FDM 3D printer by Prusa Research. Manufacturing programs for parts were prepared in PrusaSlicer. These programs were used for producing individuals parts on 3D Printer. Transparent material and printing parameters for the top of the gearbox were chosen by visual test and test of light intensity. The total cost of model production is calculated in the work. The result of these is a completely working model of a single-stage gearbox with a transparent top of the gearbox.

Konstrukce 3D tiskárny pro materiály s vyšší pevností / Design of 3D printer for high strength materials

Žlebek, Michal January 2015 (has links)
Thesis deals with FDM 3D printing method and testing capabilities of optimum printing conditions for different materials. The aim of this work is to design and manufacture of experimental device that enables printing to investigate these conditions. A device designed in this work was named UK3DP and allows dual color object printing with maximum dimensions of the square base of 150 mm and a height of 150 mm. Before printing, the user can set almost all parameters affecting the printing process, including air temperature in heated chamber that is part of it. To verify the functionality several materials are tested, including ABS, PC and PEI. It also describes basic verification of the influence of selected parameters on the print result. Performs tensile tests confirming the influence of ambient temperature during printing on the quality of fiber connections, examines the final quality of the surface for each layer height and compares the resulting deformation of printed objects with other printers. The result of this work is a 3D printer capable of testing printing conditions for both existing and new types of materials with a range of user adjustable parameters.
