On the role of domain-specific knowledge in the visualization of technical flows

Garth, Christoph, Tricoche, Xavier, Wiebel, Alexander, Joy, Kenneth I. 17 January 2019 (has links)
In this paper, we present an overview of a number of existing flow visualization methods, developed by the authors in the recent past, that are specifically aimed at integrating and leveraging domain-specific knowledge into the visualization process. These methods transcend the traditional divide between interactive exploration and featurebased schemes and allow a visualization user to benefit from the abstraction properties of feature extraction and topological methods while retaining intuitive and interactive control over the visual analysis process, as we demonstrate on a number of examples.

Sun, Chia-jen 29 June 2008 (has links)
Thanks to the booming of China and eastern Europe demanding, the world steel annual production soaring from 0.75 billion tons in 1990 to 1.239 billion tons in 2006, the percentage of top 10 steel company is 28.43% of the world production and it is a history record. It looks like raw material industrial like steel makers are shinning. Nevertheless, due to merge of the steel industry and final product customer of local market were shifting to the China market, threaten are increasing. Therefore, to find out how China Steel gains more competition through her resource integration becomes main reason of this research. In Blast Furnace steel making, the co-relationship between upstream and downstream is highly cohesive, China Steel has started to set up her Process computer system since 1979. The main function of the Process computer is to receive production order from ERP system and download the receipt to the low level controller through its built in model; During production, the Process computer also track the material from semi-product to the final product, A Quality evaluation system in every Process computer system also helping the production supervisor to make sure the quality of the outlet. To leverage the thirty years Process computer know-how becomes main search of this essay. Through survey of Dragon steel¡BChung-Hung Info Steel and Inform-Champ corporation to study their current status of the system¡Borganization and requirement, list all the demanding and possible solution as an information base, then use RBV to analysis these demanding. This research will based on the process computer know-how center of the CSC Process control computer shop to establish a new process to contribute the following ¡§Rent¡¨ in CSC group: (1). To readjust the data flow of CSC Process control computer shop based on the competition acknowledge survey of all the team members in this shop. (2) To support Chung-Hung Steel for his revamping and new process control computer system. (3) To support Dragon steel to establish his own maintenance system and to handle the new project of the Dragon Steel to minimize the project organization manpower. (4) To establish a common platform of spare parts and an integrated purchasing system to minimize the stock of spare parts and to meet the economic scale on purchasing. (5) To establish a model research center in China steel as a CSC Group model ware. (6) To assist ICSC to set-up his total solution capability of process computer technology

Study on Architecture-Oriented Hot Strip Mill Statistical Process Computer Model

Li, Ting-li 05 January 2009 (has links)
Hot-rolled steel products occupy a key position, between upstream and downstream, in the steel industry chain. In this country, revenue of hot-rolled strip steel products maintains the greatest proportion among all steel products. Continuous pursuit of knowledge progress and growth plays a significant support to sustainable enterprises and gives them a vigorous operational strength in the face of international competition. During the hot strip steel manufacturing process, as the second-level standard of the computer integrated manufacturing system in a steel plant describes, in addition to those needed information related with real-time electronic control equipment dealt by process control computers, how does hot strip mill statistical process computer, abbreviated HSMSPC, utilize statistical analysis and information processing also challenges the future competitiveness. This research engages in a genuine hot strip mill statistical process computer system developed by a well-known steel corporation located in Taiwan, adopting structure behavior coalescence, abbreviated as SBC, six golden rules to build up the architecture-oriented hot strip mill statistical process computer model, abbreviated as AOHSMSPCM. AOHSMSPCM shall construct a hot strip mill statistical process computer system in an architecture-oriented way so that it is able to fully express the operational act and information extraction which cover system structures and system behaviors as well; subsequently, the hot strip mill statistical process computer system will produce higher added value in the face of the production line variability, replicate update, knowledge management, and so on. AOHSMSPCM begins with the analysis layer of system architecture. In this research, system structures and system behaviors are well described in the HSMSPC analysis layer. Besides this, easy to duplicate and extension of scalability are thoroughly elaborated in this research. Finally, this research comes up with "Strengthening the variability control of a hot strip mill", "Preserving assets of corporate knowledge" and "Upgrading process technologies of production lines" as three benefits that AOHSMSPCM contributes to the enterprise.

Silva, Bruno Firmino da, 1989- 06 February 2015 (has links)
Orientadores: Flávio Vasconcelos da Silva, Jones Erni Schmitz / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Engenharia Química / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-27T17:33:20Z (GMT). Ambos indicadores, permitiram uma visualização do desempenho dos controladores de modo global e a auxiliaram na escolha do melhor conjunto de malhas de controle para o processo / Abstract: Chemical process have complex dynamics behaviors due to the presence of recycle streams, heat integration and several unit operations interconnected, leading to interaction problems among variables and making difficult to do an effective process control. Plantwide control methodologies aim to establish controls systems for entire chemical plants; however, it is possible to obtain different control solutions. This work proposes an evaluation of different Plantwide control structures for a specific process using Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and determinate which structure best meets the industry strategic goals. As a case study, it was implemented a simulation of a typical biodiesel process in Aspen Plus and Aspen Plus Dynamics. The process implemented intended to represent the production of biofuel obtained from the transesterification of soybean oil with methanol and homogeneous alkaline catalysis as chemical route. For dynamic simulation of the process, two sets of controllers obtained using global control heuristic methodology were used to control the process, setting up two proposals of control for biodiesel production. Key performance indicators of the overall process were used to evaluate the control proposals, such as the DDS indicator (Dynamic Disturbance Sensitivity), which presents the total molar accumulation over time, and an indicator that presents the raw material costs also over time. Both indicators allowed a view of the controllers global performance and aided in choose the best set of control loops for the process / Mestrado / Sistemas de Processos Quimicos e Informatica / Mestre em Engenharia Química

Digitala redskap i skolan : Teknik och pedagogik

Berisha, Ilir, Elisabeth Axelsson, Ann-Kristin January 2014 (has links)
