An Industrial Training Approach to a National Manpower Development Effort: A Proposal

Cuayo, Leonisa M. 01 May 1976 (has links)
The objective of this thesis is to propose an approach or a process by which a national industrial training system can be instituted for the Philippines; and specifying the role which the National Manpower and Youth Council should play in the undertaking. The thesis outlines some of the general features of the manpower development systems in several selected countries, followed by an outline of the Philippine manpower development system, and the environment in which the Industrial training system in the Philippines would operate. The existing organization of the National Manpower and Youth Council is described and a plan of action for the creation of a new system outlined. The plan of action includes a detailed outline of the steps necessary for the successful creation of a pilot industry training board and a discussion of the subsequent requirements and strategy needed to develop the entire national training system.

Understanding change : public space constructin in Bogota, Colombia, the Plaza de San Victorino

Coronado Cabrera, Maria Camila 08 July 2014 (has links)
Bogotá is a city that has seen rapid change in the recent years. By the 1990’s the city’s public space was in crisis and its elements were being used in inappropriate ways; some were even been illegally privatized. Inside the city’s multiple ills, a politically driven set of changes began to happen. By the turn of the millennium an urban renaissance of the city originated. Multiple public spaces, libraries, schools, and new transportation systems were built and implemented by different city Mayors. At present, after the initial thrill and polemics developed during the construction of the new public spaces, some of the major changes have settled. This situation makes it a good moment to develop an analysis of the performance of these public spaces today, in order to understand how they have evolved along with Bogotano’s during these years. The Plaza de San Victorino located in the downtown area of the city was one of the major renovation projects that the city underwent around the year 2000. Its analysis is representative of the evolution of Bogota’s public spaces during these years. This MDS makes an assessment from the point of view of the users of the Plaza de San Victorino. By making a Post-occupancy evaluation of this recently constructed public space using participant observations, mappings and surveys, this MDS generates a set of design recommendations for the Plaza and a design proposal for its improvement. / text

Describing the business decision-making process for evaluating cricket sponsorship proposals / Alida Johanna Coetzee

Coetzee, Alida Johanna January 2011 (has links)
One of the major challenges facing cricket unions today is getting adequate funding; on the other hand, one of the challenges facing businesses are the hundreds of unsolicited sponsorship proposals they receive annually. This study investigated the business decision-making process for selecting sponsorship proposals, specifically to contribute to the cricket unions’ understanding of the formal selection process that the sponsorship proposal goes through. The primary objective of the study was to determine the degree to which businesses follow the decision-making process when selecting a sponsorship opportunity. The research study was based on a descriptive research design. First, a theoretical discussion of sponsorship within the marketing communication mix was conducted to illustrate that a sponsorship is a product that the business must purchase, and therefore they use the decision-making process to choose among different sponsorship opportunities. The business decision-making process was discussed in further detail for selecting sponsorship proposals. Primary data was collected by means of a web-based questionnaire. A convenience sample was used to distribute the questionnaire to sponsors of the sixteen cricket unions in South Africa. The nature of a sponsorship relationship is rather sensitive; therefore a complete list of all the sponsors could not be compiled. A total of 39 respondents participated in the study. The sample was not representative, and therefore the results are only valid for those respondents who participated in the study. The results indicated that respondents were most likely to set product/brand/service objectives and media objectives for their sponsorships. All the sponsorship objectives are equally important to the respondents from the medium and large sponsors, except for guest hospitality objectives which are deemed more important by large sponsors than the respondents from medium sponsors. With regard to decision-making criteria, respondents found positioning/image criteria as very important during a sponsorship decision. The role-players identified by the respondents who most frequently participate in the decision-making process are the marketing manager, public relations manager, CEO or owner. With regard to the degree to which businesses follow the decisionmaking process, it was found that large sponsors are more likely to follow a fairly formal evaluation process than medium sponsors. It is recommended that cricket unions need to focus on the decision-making criteria and objectives that are deemed important by sponsors, and that they should also include these aspects in their sponsorship proposals. With regard to medium and large sponsors, cricket unions should focus on providing large sponsors with more guest hospitality opportunities; they must also prepare their proposals for a formal decision-making process as compared the less formal approach followed by medium sponsors when reviewing sponsorship applications. Recommendations for future research include that a similar study should be conducted with a large sample size, to be able to identify if statistical significant differences do exist for different size sponsors. A probability sample should be used, to be able to obtain data that is representative of the entire population. The limitations of the study, such as financial and time constraints, prevented from achieving all the recommendations for future research set out above. / Thesis (M.Com. Přípustkové věty ve španělštině v kontrastivní perspektivě se zaměřením na didaktické využití / Concessive sentences in contrastive perspective (didactic application)

KAMENSKÁ, Barbora January 2018 (has links)
The main topic of this final thesis is the concessional clause in the teaching of ELE for Slovak students. The following work consists of a contrastive analysis of the two languages, Spanish and Slovak, through which the possible difficulties with the concession in Spanish are assumed. The main objective of this work is that the students are able to recognize, interpret and correctly produce the concession in Spanish. In addition, the work explains the functioning of the concessional subordinates in Spanish. Moreover, it proposes eleven activities to practice this phenomenon that were carried out by the Slovak students of level B2 and C1. The didactic proposal includes all the problematic of the concessions putting the focus on the mode, which is, according to the results obtained, where more problems arise. All activities are part of the communicative approach and include games, dialogues and the use of new technologies. The content of the activities aims to familiarize the student with literature, history and Spanish cinema.

Constructing an Ionic diode using Solid Supported Lipid bilayers: A Proposal

ruan, cunfan 01 January 2018 (has links)
Ionic-type transistors are important devices for precise chemical control and biosensing applications. Previous work by Tybrandt et al. has demonstrated a novel approach to constructing an ionic transistor using conducting polymers poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) and quarternized- polyvinyl benzyl chloride (q-PVBC). This approach could be combined with the 3D stamp method of generating concentration gradients in supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) as shown by Liu et al. to create a charged lipid-based ionic polar junction transistor. An electric potential applied across the SLB would drive charged lipids towards the opposite electrode, thus generating current flow across the SLB. Incorporation of a charged-lipid functionalized PEDOT derivative as demonstrated by Johansson et al. would allow a longer period of current flow before charge carriers are depleted. Such a device could offer novel approaches to biosensing.

Financování korporátního klienta z pohledu banky / The financing of the corporate client from the perspective of bank

Vrbská, Eva January 2008 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to describe the course of corporate financing. The thesis is divided into two main parts - the theoretical part and practical part. The theoretical section describes the financial statements, financial analysis and the individual components of the loan proposal. In the practical part is given financial analysis based on data from the client's annual reports. Here is a loan proposal, drawn up on the basis of the conclusions of financial analysis, which provides appropriate funding attending various financial risks, which the client must undergo as an entrepreneur.
