Vydavatelství Axel Springer a jeho transformace v digitální dům / The publishing house Axel Springer and its transformation into a digital house

Báčová, Tereza January 2015 (has links)
The diploma thesis The publishing house Axel Springer and its transformation into a digital house focuses on the gradual transformation of a the German publishing house Axel Springer from a traditional publisher of printed media into the digital house it is today. The thesis analyzes its business activities and offers a periodized overview of the house's dominant business strategies from the moment it was established in 1946 to 2014. Simultaneously, the thesis presents the chronological development of the house's product portfolio. It is this record of the house's historical and current portfolio which discovers not only the changes in the structure of revenues, but also the house's shift from its original object of enterprise. In the case of Axel Springer, the transformation is characterized with a transfer of the principles of media enterprise into the digital environment - within which the focus was broadened from media projects to non-media projects as well. Economically speaking, this strategy has been successful, as in 2014 the house generated more than 70% of its overall profit (EBITDA) from its digital activities. At the same time the thesis proves in a critical manner that the digital transformation of Axel Springer is not a result of successful digital transformation of the way the...

Komunikační strategie Knižního klubu / The communication strategy of the Knižní klub company

Adamcová, Kateřina January 2014 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the communication strategy of Knižní klub publisher since its establishment till the end of the year 2013. Knižní klub belongs to publishers that mostly in 90s' formed Czech literary culture by its business model. Until recently it was a part of the world media group Bertelsmann, which has operated literary clubs all over the world since 50s' of the 20th century. It entered the Czech Republic shortly after the revolution and brought many forbidden titles. The policy of edition represented the mix of the quality world literature and also the whole range of saleable books which copied actual readers' trends. On this basis, I focus on historical background and its influence of the policy of edition. Then I deal with the development of the literary club after the year 1989. With The Knižní klub publisher, which has gone through several changes from distribution company to appropriate publisher, I try to target the communicational activities in socio-cultural context. Communication strategy was observed through club catalogues and media. Media image in social-cultural supplements Víkend Mladé fronty Dnes, Salon Práva and critical monthly journal Literární noviny is also part of the text and helps to understand the strategy of the publisher.

recepce francouzské literatury vydávané v edici Světová četba (1948-1999) / Reviews of french literature inthe book serie Světová četba (World Reading) between years 1948 and 1999

Radváková, Tereza January 2012 (has links)
The diploma thesis Rewievs of French Literature in the Book Series Světová četba (World Reading) between years 1948 and 1999 analyses the forewords of one of the most important Czech book series of the 20th century. The main aim of the thesis is to find out to what extent the contemporary culture policy influenced the content of the respective texts that were published together with the translations of francophonic literature. The author has chosen the method of qualitative analysis, which has provided the basis for the subsequent quantitative analysis. She tries to describe the way in which the slant in the forewords can present itself and to find out if it truly presented itself in the Světová četba book series. As there is not enough processed materials available concerning the book series and the policy of the Odeon publishing house (formerly SNKLU or SNKLHU), the thesis also covers an extensive historiographic background research based on archive materials and controlled conversations with witnesses.

Kubiková, Karolína January 2019 (has links)
This Master Thesis is focused on analysis of media response to editions Fresh and Raketa of publishing house Labyrint in the context of history of publishing practice in the Czech Republic in the nineties. It also discusses contemporary literature for children and youth. Thesis studies critical media response to three particular books from studied editions Tajemství oblázkové hory by Bára Dočkalová, Robinson by Petr Sís and Plyš by Michal Hvorecký. Novel Plyš by Michal Hvorecký was covered the most in the media. The smallest number of articles was published about Tajemství oblázkové hory by Bára Dočkalová. Even though it was nominated for Magnesia Litera Award, it did not win the price in the end. The closing part focuses on a unique project by publishing house Labyrint, a magazine for children called Raketa. Media attention is focused on creators of magazine, either it is the owner of publishing house Labyrint Joachim Dvořák or its chief editors Johana Švejdíková and Radana Litošová. Critical reflection is rare, there are mostly short notes recommending buying the magazine or describing a new issue. There is a broad spectrum of media chosen for this analysis, from news media to cultural and literary periodical such as Tvar, Host, A2 and catalog Nejlepší knihy dětem.

Étude des procédés d’appropriation esthétique de l’astronautique dans Nous trois de Jean Echenoz suivi de Hellen-Freischmann

Roy, Alexandre 06 1900 (has links)
The essay entitled Études des procédés d’appropriation esthétique de l’astronautique dans Nous trois de Jean Echenoz explores the strategies employed by the author Jean Echenoz to engage in a new dialogue with the theme of astronautics, which he brings into play in his sixth novel. Characterized by a playful and distanced adherence to literary fiction, Nous trois plays with styles, references and language, inscribing his universe into an esthetic of precariousness, sparing no dimension of his work. His narrative structure induces a troubling ambiguity around the characters’ identities and narrative instances. On a diegesis level, the author sets an unstable and unsettling universe in which the subject of astronautics is exposed without any complacency. Taking advantage of the language’s inherent precariousness, Echenoz takes ownership of the astronautics’ lexicon which he employs to further his style. The novel Hellen-Freischmann narrates the journey of a peculiar author whose goal is to publish his manuscript starring celestial bodies as protagonists. This narrative is intertwined with the tale of a publisher from a prestigious publishing house who must come to terms with this atypical submission. These characters evolve within a dark universe where strangeness stands alongside familiarity, where likelihood threatens to fall into fantasy, and fiction contaminates reality. The novel is carried by an unusual and unstable voice, characterized by complex plays on focus, contrasted language use, and a certain indecision towards the role of narration in the story told. This playful narrator incorporates a nomenclature proper to astronomy, which serves both the intrigue and the style of the novel.

Ink / Ink

Vomelová, Lenka Unknown Date (has links)
-ink- ink is a small independent publishing house, that is aiming to publish student-written literature with graphic design and illustrations made by young designers and artists. Main goal of the publishing house is to support, execute and spread projects of young, not yet estabilished authors and artists and thus develop the contemporary art scene. The visual identity of the publishing house is left open, it is going to be created in time by the books that are going to be published by ink. The logo is often used as a background to posters, or a stamp over photographs. I'm letting the content to speak for it's brand, not the logo. I created business cards, bookmarks, a stamp, wrapping papers that are used for parcels as well as a background for posters, and stickers. Novel Devil Novel Devil is a first book published by ink. Author of the book is Jan Smutný, recent graduate of Faculty of Fine arts in Brno. Illustration and the overall design of the book are made by me. The design is inspired by gothic books written in textura or bastarda and illustrated with woodcuts. My aim was to create a book clearly referencing this visuality, but not a „retro“ or a historicist book. I tried to create a classical book with a modern twist. That's why I chose new, modern typefaces Enigma and Lapture and the illustrations are just vector lines. Because of the theme I work only with black and and background white colour. The book was published in 200 copies.

The letters of Casa Ricordi

Rebulla, Patrizia, Ledda, Pierluigi, Müller, Helen 03 December 2019 (has links)
The Archivio Storico Ricordi holds the historical records of one of the most important music publisher of all times. For almost two hundred years, beyond their main business as music publishers, the Ricordis were also impresarios, agents, and cultural organisers, and played a central and unique mediating role within Italian musical life. This role is very well documented by some 30,000 autograph letters addressed to Casa Ricordi by composers, writers, librettists, singers, and conductors, and an impressive and neatly ordered collection of around 600,000 sent letters. The whole collection will be published online bit by bit. The goal of the project is to connect the letters not only with the relevant records of the Ricordi archive (ledgers, contracts, stage designs, scores, pictures...), but also with other music archives over the web.

Budování aritmetické triády ve dvou matematicko-didaktických prostředích: "Sousedé" a "Barevné trojice" / Building of Arithmetical Triads in Two Mathematical-didactical Environments: Neighbours and Coloured Triples

Otradovcová, Dana January 2012 (has links)
The thesis attends to the mathematical charts constructing of additive triad of pupils on 1st grade of the primary school by means of two mathematical - didactic settings "The Neighbours" and "The Coloured Trio". They occure in mathematical textbooks created by prof. RNDr. Milan Hejný, CSc., RNDr. Darina Jirotková, Ph.D., PhDr. Jana Slezáková, Ph.D. and their colleagues and which are published by Fraus. In my thesis I shall attend to the theoretical pieces of knowledge in the given mathematical area as well as to the reasons for the creation of the new mathematical teaching concept after the czech educational reform. Mathematical tasks from the two appointed settings will be handed in to the pupils to be solved. The pupils will encounter such tasks for the first time. It shall be observed how they are able to cope with the given tasks and if they will be able to infiltrate the problem of the tasks or to invent their own tasks. Further on the thesis shall attend to the means of solutions of similar tasks by the students of The Pedagogical Faculty of the Univerzita Karlova and to the analysis of their comments on the tasks.
