Dialysberoendets påverkan på det dagliga livet : en kvalitativ intervjustudie

Ahlgren, Helén January 2013 (has links)

Hedging strategies of Swedish mining companies : a qualitative study

Shihab, Mohamed, Bubere, Fredrik January 2013 (has links)
This study investigates how risk management in general, and hedging in specific is used  in industries that produce and sell raw materials. We investigated the hedging strategies in the Swedish mining industry. We gathered data for this study from five interviews with CFO’s and Head of treasury’s from five different Swedish mining companies in order to get their  expertise and opinions of hedging. We found that companies only hedged their commodity prices if they were forced by circumstances outside of their control. We also found interesting similarities and differences between state-owned and publicly traded companies.

Vägen till framgång : En studie om festivaler i Stockholm

Bergström, Lisa, Grafström, Emily January 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this paper is to examine how events can be successful and stay competitive.Festivals are a big part of the event world and it can be difficult to understand why certainfestivals are successful and others not. In this paper we have conducted a comparison betweentwo major festivals in Stockholm. Both of them reached success, but nevertheless one of themfailed, while the other one is still successful. With this comparison, it appeared that there aremany aspects that help a festival to reach success but also factors that can make a festival afailure. To conduct this study, a number of interviews have been carried through; these havelater been put in relation to different theories about festivals. The results of this study providesinsight into festivals ups and downs and why these happen, and can hopefully be a help toboth new and existing festivals to achieve good results.

Genus och funktionshinder. En journalstudie gjord på barn- och ungdomshabiliteringen

Skarp, Emelie, Skoglund, Jessica January 2009 (has links)
The purpose of this qualitative study is to investigate how the welfare officer who works in the child and youth- habilitation is documenting in boys and girls journals. We also want to see if there are any differences or similarities in the journals on the basis of a gender perspective? The investigation is made from ten journals, five boys and five girls in the ages from 13 -18 years. The analysis which proceeds from prior research made on this area and from a number of gender theories and gender perspectives is based on a hermeneutic nature. The results show that the welfare officers make more documentation about the boys´ school situation than the girls´. Although is the documentation made more detailed about the girls´ feelings and general health. In the girls’ journals the family’s health gets more attention than in the boys´ ones where there is more focus on the boy himself. Further the results show that the girls altogether have had almost double as much contact whith the welfare officers than the boys had. Concerning documenting sparetimes interests the result show that three of the girls like riding while two of the boys do sports in their sparetime.

The Differentiation Of Emotions Of Shame And Guilt In Adolescents With Maternal Breast Cancer

Kacmaz, Belgu Lale 01 September 2011 (has links) (PDF)
This study aimed at revealing and differentiating the emotions of shame and guilt felt by the adolescents with maternal cancer. In order to reveal and differentiate these emotions, a sentence completion task and interviews were used. The study was conducted on 10 adolescents in age range of 16-20. With each participant, four private sessions were made. In the first session, the participant&rsquo / s knowledge of his/her mother&rsquo / s condition was evaluated through the Sentence Completion Test. In the second session, Pandora&rsquo / s Box, a film by Yesim Ustaoglu was watched with the participant to understand if the film evoked the targeted emotions and the second format of Sentence Completion Test was given. In the third session, 20 minute interviews were conducted with the participant, privately. These interviews were called &ldquo / interventions&rdquo / because they aimed to intervene to the process of feeling guilty and ashamed and replace them with a positive self-conscious emotion, pride. The fourth and final session was conducted after one week and aimed to check if the anticipated affect of film and interventions lasted. Only 3 participants out of 10 returned for the fourth session, so the fourth session was left out of the analysis. Two main analyses were conducted in the current study. The frequencies of shame and guilt were examined in the Sentence Completion Test analysis and the interviews were analysed qualitatively. The outcome resulted that in both Sentence Completion Test and interview analysis, the adolescents with maternal cancer revealed emotions of shame and guilt. Furthermore, in the Sentence Completion Test analysis, it was tested whether the frequency of emotions of shame and guilt increased or decreased by the intervention of the film and interviews and the outcome yielded that neither the film Pandora&rsquo / s Box nor the interventions made any significant effect. The results were evaluated and the implications were discussed. Finally, limitations of the study and recommendations for future research were explained. Keywords: Cancer, breast cancer, adolescents, self-conscious emotions, Cinematherapy, Interventions Technique, Qualitative Study.

Patients' Perspectives in Following Hypertensive Guidelines on Sodium Intake and Lifestyle Modifications in Panama

Chang, Lissette Raquel 01 January 2013 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to explore patients' perception and knowledge regarding hypertension and hypertensive guidelines on sodium intake and lifestyle modifications in a work environment in the Republic of Panama. Hypertension is important not only because of its high prevalence but also because it is a major modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. In Panama the prevalence of hypertension is about 38.7% and uncontrolled hypertension is almost 50%.This number may translate into complications for the general population. For instance 52.8% of the population has had an ischemic disease and death by ischemic disease climbed from third place to second place from 2009 to 2010. This qualitative study used an exploratory approach and semi-structured in-depth interviews to answer the research questions. A purposive sample included woman with a hypertension diagnosis, between 30 to 59 years of age, and working in a single organization. A constant comparative analysis was used to search for themes grounded in the data. Emerging themes illustrated that participants perspectives of hypertension had become their drives towards the management of their disease and throughout their daily lives constant different factors played the role of motivating or discouraging their non-pharmacological treatment. Participants had also provided a list of barriers and coping strategies which were redundant on the need of practical knowledge, obtainable goals and policy changes of their environment in order for them to keep their disease management. Further research at a population level may aid to generalize this finding and to provide a better understanding of patients' compliance to non-pharmacological treatment.

Internationalization process of Big Image Systems AB

Santoyo, Gustavo, Hamerla, Florian January 2006 (has links)
The internationalization of firms, especially among SMEs, represents big challenges that must be addressed. For this thesis, the internationalization process of the Swedish company Big Image Systems AB is studied. The purpose of the thesis is to generate a theoretical model to satisfactorily describe and explain the internationalization process of Big Image Systems AB. The case study methodology is our research strategy for this qualitative study. Based on theories about SMEs and internationalization, and after exhaustive analysis and selection, we developed an internationalization model for Big Image. The so called Big Image Model considers the dimensions of internationalization developed by Welch and Luostarinen (1998) and the entrepreneurial perspective by Andersson (2001) to satisfactorily describe and explain the important factors involved in the process. We observe that the entrepreneur plays a central role towards internationalization, and that theoretical guidance can make SMEs learn from their own experiences and, as a consequence, progress.
