A multi-agent software system for real-time optimization of chemical plants.

Elyser Estrada Martínez 09 March 2018 (has links)
Real-Time Optimization (RTO) is a family of techniques that pursue to improve the performance of chemical processes. As general scheme, the method reevaluates the process conditions in a frequent basis and tries to adjust some selected variables, taking into account the plant state, actual operational constraints and optimization objectives. Several RTO approaches have born from the academy research and industrial practices, at the same time that more applications have been implemented in real facilities. Between the main motivations to apply RTO are the dynamic of markets, the seek for quality in the process results and environmental sustainability. That is why the interest on deeply understand the phases and steps involved in an RTO application has increased in recent years. Nevertheless, the fact that most of the existing RTO systems have been developed by commercial organizations makes it difficult to meet that understanding. This work studies the nature of RTO systems from a software point of view. Software requirements for a generic system are identied. Based on that, a software architecture is proposed that could be adapted for specfic cases. Benefits of the designed architecture are listed. At the same time, the work proposes a new approach to implement that architecture as a Multi-Agent System (MAS). Two RTO system prototypes were developed then, one for a well-know academic case study and the other oriented to be used in a real unit. The benefits of the MAS approach and the architecture, for researching on the RTO field and implementation on real plants, are analyzed in the text. A sub-product of the development, a software framework covering main concepts from the RTO ontology, is proposed as well. As the framework was designed to be generic, it can be used in new applications development and extended to very specific scenarios.

Problematika RTO a RPO v riadení kontinuity / The issue of RTO and RPO in business continuity management

Salai, Viktor January 2011 (has links)
This thesis is concerned about Business Continuity Management with the focus on determination of the RTO and RPO parameters. The work is divided into two main parts. The first section briefly describes theoretical issues of Business Continuity Management in conjunction with IT Service Continuity Management. Then there are described various technologies that are currently used to ensure continuity and recovery of IT systems. In conclusion of the theoretical part, the work focuses on the process of Business Impact Analysis. This thesis thus offers a comprehensive view of main principles and benefits that these concepts have for company and how they should be integrated with each other. It provides an overview of various technologies, their link to RTO and RPO parameters and also the definition of steps of disaster recovery procedure. The work also briefly defines the basic procedure for determination of the RTO and RPO parameters, subsequent steps needed to design recovery solutions and analyzes various aspects which need to be considered when defining the parameters of continuity. The second practical part is based on the previous theoretically defined procedure and its aim is to analyze the data acquired during the questionnaire investigation in chosen company to determine the parameters of continuity for the applications in use and then suggest appropriate ways of addressing their backup and recovery. The result of this thesis is therefore a description of the analysis and practical application of methods for setting the parameters for continuity of information systems and the subsequent establishment of necessary measures.

Contribution à la construction d’ontologies et à la recherche d’information : application au domaine médical / Contribution to ontology building and to semantic information retrieval : application to medical domain

Drame, Khadim 10 December 2014 (has links)
This work aims at providing efficient access to relevant information among the increasing volume of digital data. Towards this end, we studied the benefit from using ontology to support an information retrieval (IR) system. We first described a methodology for constructing ontologies. Thus, we proposed a mixed method which combines natural language processing techniques for extracting knowledge from text and the reuse of existing semantic resources for the conceptualization step. We have also developed a method for aligning terms in English and French in order to enrich terminologically the resulting ontology. The application of our methodology resulted in a bilingual ontology dedicated to Alzheimer’s disease. We then proposed algorithms for supporting ontology-based semantic IR. Thus, we used concepts from ontology for describing documents automatically and for query reformulation. We were particularly interested in: 1) the extraction of concepts from texts, 2) the disambiguation of terms, 3) the vectorial weighting schema adapted to concepts and 4) query expansion. These algorithms have been used to implement a semantic portal about Alzheimer’s disease. Further, because the content of documents are not always fully available, we exploited incomplete information for identifying the concepts, which are relevant for indexing the whole content of documents. Toward this end, we have proposed two classification methods: the first is based on the k nearest neighbors’ algorithm and the second on the explicit semantic analysis. The two methods have been evaluated on large standard collections of biomedical documents within an international challenge.

Určování stresu z řečového signálu / Stress recognition from speech signal

Staněk, Miroslav January 2016 (has links)
