Törnqvist, Agne January 2023 (has links)
In the Swedish curriculum there is uncertainty today, regarding the purpose of the subject of religious studies on a highschool level. A question exists whether students should merely be learning about religions or if they should, in addition, also learn from said religions. The origin of these two options to religious education can be traced back to at least to the writings of Michael Grimmitt, a British philosopher of religion, and to the debate he sparked in the 1980s. The Swedish curriculum does not use the language of Grimmitt and is rather vague when it takes a stance regarding these two possibilities, though it leans heavily on the idea that Swedish highschool students should just learn about religion. Due to the vagueness of the current curriculum, the document is unable to answer the presented question. This essay intends to find an answer between these two choices to religious education. This will be done through the methods of reflective equilibrium, as defined by the philosopher John Rawls. By looking at which of the two options is the most compatible with the curriculum as a whole, an answer will be presented as to which approach is to be preferred. The result of the study is that it is not enough for students to just learn about religion and changes should be done to the curriculum. How such a change should be designed remains, however, unanswered.

Hemström, Calle January 2015 (has links)
This thesis studies the use of infographics in Swedish web versionsof newspapers. The selected cases consist of two examplesfrom Swedish newspapers Svenska Dagbladet and Dagens Nyheter aswell as a case from British newspaper The Guardian. The thesis’main purpose is to examine if the selected cases are making fulluse of the interaction possibilities websites provide as a mediumin order to achieve the aim of making information as easy tolearn as possible. This aim is to be seen as the main purpose ofinfographics in general according to theories in the areas of infographicsand cognitive multimedia learning. The three cases are then analyzed on the basis of criteriaconstructed from prior studies in infographics and cognitivetheory of multimedia learning using the method of reflectiveequilibrium.

Foregrounding Background Theories in Wide Reflective Equilibrium / Bakgrundsteorier i brett reflektivit ekvilibrium i förgrunden

Blomberg, Olle January 2007 (has links)

This thesis deals with two species of a very well known and popular method of moral justification called the method of reflective equilibrium. These two species are narrow and wide reflective equilibrium (NRE/WRE). More specifically, the thesis looks at the roles so called background theories are expected to play in WRE. The use of background theories distinguishes WRE from NRE. Whether background theories can fulfil all these roles, and whether these roles are needed at all, is discussed. One conclusion is that whether WRE is preferable to NRE or not, depends to large degree on how the key concept of coherence is understood. Given a common understanding of coherence as something thicker than mere logical consistency though, WRE is clearly preferable to NRE as a method of justification.
/
