In this way, to understand how the annual visit of the Folia rebuilds and renews the traditions and the cultural identities of a rural community that moved from the Jaraguá to Goiânia, as well as understand how the continuity of the visit of the Folia do Divino contributes to maintain the cultural identity of this community in a new culture, with new cultural values and paradigms. / O presente estudo A Folia do Divino e Identidade Cultural: o caso da comunidade de Jaraguá em Goiânia - constitui-se na análise da identidade cultural da comunidade migrante de Jaraguá em Goiânia tendo como pano de fundo a folia do Divino, uma das manifestações folclóricas mais expressivas daquela comunidade. Dessa forma buscou-se entender como a visita da folia reconstrói e renova as tradições e a identidade cultural de uma comunidade rural decorrente de uma mudança de cidade; bem como compreender como a continuidade da visita contribui para a manutenção da identidade cultural dessa comunidade em uma nova cultura, com novos valores e paradigmas culturais.

The devotion to the saints is a kind of communication. In this thesis communicational processes, its languages and its flows are sought at the Saint Sebastian s party, at Alecrim neighborhood, in Natal/RN. The view is focused on the individuals and collective behaviors, in a dynamic which involves the saint s interlocutors at the party space, which supports the pre-novena, the novena and the procession. It tries to show through observation, ethnography and interviews the elements that composes the symbolic language present on the gestures, on the performances and bodies movements, on the clothing colors, as well as on what is said orally or in silence, on the spontaneous prayers or pre-elaborated ones, on the written messages that the devout addresses to the saint at the patron s festivity / A festa ? uma das linguagens mais comunicativas, carregada de conte?dos e significados simb?licos. A devo??o aos santos ? uma forma de comunica??o. Busca-se pesquisar nesta tese os processos comunicacionais, suas linguagens e seus fluxos na festa de S?o Sebasti?o, no bairro do Alecrim, em Natal/RN. O foco do olhar se volta para os comportamentos coletivos e individuais, numa din?mica que envolve os interlocutores do santo no espa?o da festa, que comporta a pr?-novena, o noven?rio e a prociss?o.
