O mal-estar no ensino religioso: localização, contextualização e interpretação

The point of departure is the diffused feeling of malaise in this teaching. Malaise is a metaphor from health area that appears as something diffused in many speeches. The main purpose of the theses is to make a radiography in order to localize this feeling of malaise. As a preamble, some historical roots were indicated. The remote root was the catechism of Indians and Negroes and the conflict it rose in the Gospel preachers and in the receivers of the Christian message. The proximate root was the coming of the republican regime and the separation between the Church and the State. The republican laicization put the religious teaching out of public schools. Afterwards, by the pressure of the Church, it was readmitted but always as optional for the students. The research localized many focus of malaise. They are concentrated mainly in the law and his application because of its permanent ambiguity. The teachers´ formation was pointed out as the second cause of malaise. Analyses were made on these two situations. The theoretical bases of the analyses was the Gramsci`s philosophy of praxis / Esta tese pretende analisar o ensino religioso nas escolas públicas, na atualidade brasileira. Parte do pressuposto de que haja um mal-estar relativo a essa disciplina. Essa metáfora, oriunda da área da saúde, aparece, em muitos discursos, como algo difuso no ensino religioso. Fazer uma radiografia para localizá-lo foi o objetivo principal do trabalho. Como preâmbulo, apontam-se as raízes históricas desse mal- estar. A raiz remota, na catequese dos índios e negros escravos e os conflitos que gerou nos evangelizadores e nos evangelizados. A raiz próxima, no advento da República, a separação entre Igreja e Estado e os conflitos decorrentes. O laicismo da era republicana, a principio, alijou a disciplina do espaço público. Depois, graças à pressão da Igreja Católica, ela foi readmitida, sempre, porém, em caráter facultativo para o aluno. A pesquisa localizou vários focos de mal-estar. Eles se concentram, especialmente, na legislação e sua aplicação, devido à sua imprecisão e ambigüidade. Depois, a formação dos docentes para a disciplina é a outra maior incidência do mal-estar.
