O caso de gestão estudado analisa a avaliação diagnóstica implantada na Coordenadoria Regional de Desenvolvimento da Educação 15 (CREDE 15) da Secretaria Estadual de Educação do Ceará (SEDUC) denominada AVALIA 15, e possui a seguinte pergunta norteadora: Como avançar no processo de elaboração da prova do AVALIA 15, na correção e análise de seus resultados? O objetivo geral desta pesquisa é: compreender o processo de elaboração, correção e análise dos resultados da prova. Além disso, pode-se mencionar como objetivos específicos: i) descrever a elaboração, correção e análise dos resultados da prova do AVALIA 15, ii) refletir sobre a qualidade do teste e da análise dos seus resultados e iii) propor ações que possam enriquecer a avaliação diagnóstica proposta pela CREDE 15. A partir da análise realizada nesta pesquisa, percebe-se que o processo de coleta e interpretação dos dados dessa avaliação diagnóstica precisa ser aperfeiçoado. Para tanto, utilizaremos como metodologia a pesquisa documental, por meio da análise da prova e dos resultados obtidos no AVALIA 15. Para desenvolver esta pesquisa, trabalhou-se com o referencial teórico compreendido pelos seguintes autores: Hoffmann (1996) e Luckesi (2006), que discutem o conceito de avaliação e sua importância no contexto escolar; Perrenoud (1999) que reflete sobre o papel da avaliação como orientadora da ação. Bonamino e Sousa (2012), que apresentam as três gerações básicas da avaliação no Brasil; Horta Neto (2010), que faz uma retrospectiva das avaliações externas no Brasil e analisa questões sobre esse tema. Cota (2001), que em seu estudo debate a experiência do Sistema de Avaliação da Educação Básica (Saeb). Viana (2010), que analisa o papel das avaliações externas no Brasil. Machado e Alavarse (2014), que discutem a qualidade na educação básica atrelada às avaliações externas. Além de Machado e Freitas (2014), que analisam a relação entre a gestão escolar e as avaliações externas. / This thesis is developed in the Professional Master in Management and Education Assessment of the Center for Public Policy and Education Evaluation of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. The management case studied analyzes the implemented diagnostic evaluation in Coordination Regional Education Development of Ceará - CREDE 15 called AVALIA (EVALUATION) 15, and has the following guiding question: how to move forward on the race preparation process the AVALIA (EVALUATION) 15, correction and analysis of its results? The general objective of this research is: to understand the process of elaboration, correction and analysis of test results. Moreover, it can be mentioned as specific objectives: i) describe the preparation, correction and analysis of the test results of the AVALIA (EVALUATION) 15, ii) reflect on the quality of the testing and analysis of results and iii) to propose actions that can enrich diagnostic evaluation proposed by CREDE 15. From the analysis in this research it is clear that the process of collecting and interpreting the data that diagnostic evaluation must be improved. Therefore, we will use as methodology, documentary research, through the analysis of the test and the results obtained in AVALIA (EVALUATION) 15. To develop this research worked with the theoretical framework comprised by the following authors: Hoffmann (1996) and Luckesi (2006), discussing the concept of evaluation and its importance in the school context; Perrenoud (1999), which reflects on the role of evaluation as a guiding action. Factors influencing academic performance : an analysis of grade 12 results of high and low performing schools in Capricorn District, Limpopo Province

Thesis (M. Ed. (Curriculum Studies)) -- University of Limpopo, 2021 / Limpopo Province comprises five districts namely Capricorn, Vhembe, Sekhukhune, Waterberg and Mopani. Furthermore, Limpopo Province has been amongst the bottom three provinces concerning Grade 12 results for the past years specifically since the introduction of the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) in 2014. The Capricorn District of Limpopo Province has shown a decline in Grade 12 results from 71.6% to 69.9% in 2016. However, there are certain schools in this district that are high performers while some are low performers. Also, the Sekhukhune District has shown a decline in Grade 12 resulted from 63.9% in 2014 to 51.1% in 2016. The purpose of this research study was to investigate and analyse the factors influencing Grade 12 results in low performing and high performing secondary schools in the Capricorn District, Limpopo Province. The objectives of this research study were to identify factors contributing to the high performance and low performance of grade 12 learners in the Capricorn district and investigate the perceptions of teachers and principals with regards to the school’s academic performance. Besides, the objectives include assessing the culture of teaching and learning in the participating low and high performing secondary schools and its influence on academic performance and assessing the roles of the school management team in the schools. This study employed a qualitative research approach in examining the factors that contribute to the academic performance of Grade 12 results of high and low performing schools in Capricorn District of Limpopo province. In addition, a case study was utilised to collect data of this study through interviews, observations and field notes. The sampled population of this study is as follows: Two school principals from the selected two secondary schools, thus one from poor performing school and one from high performing, four grade12 teachers from the two secondary schools, thus two grade 12 teachers from high performing secondary school and two teachers from low performing secondary schools. The data was thematically analysed by highlighting phrases that presented the respondents’ attitudes and thoughts, repeating the interview transcripts, reading to ensure accuracy, highlighting important statements and organising the themes that emerge from the interview. . vi The following themes emerged from the thematic analysis of data in this study (i) Physical resources, (ii) parental involvement, (iii) learner discipline, (iv)school community and (v) senior support. The findings of this study revealed that for the schools to achieve high performance and obtain excellent results, both teachers and learners must be distinctly committed to the teaching and learning process.

Viešosios bibliotekos vaidmuo bendruomenėje / The role of the public library in the local community

Magistro darbo objektas – viešosios bibliotekos vaidmuo bendruomenėse. Darbo tikslas – apibrėžti ir įvertinti viešosios bibliotekos, kaip sociokultūrinio objekto, vaidmenį bendruomenėje. Darbo uždaviniai: išanalizuoti svarbiausius bendruomenės gyvavimo aspektus ir bruožus, teoriniu požiūriu išnagrinėti viešosios bibliotekos paskirtį ir kaitą, išsiaiškinti Marijampolės savivaldybės viešosios bibliotekos filialų vaidmenį mažose bendruomenėse. Atlikus literatūros analizę ir atvejo tyrimą, kuriuose informacijai ir duomenims gauti naudotasi bibliotekos nepublikuotų ataskaitų, statistinių duomenų analizės bei anketinės apklausos metodais, prieita prie išvados, kad viešoji biblioteka užima reikšmingą vietą socialinėje bendruomenės sistemoje; pastebėta bendruomenės, kaip socialinės sistemos, funkcionavimo priklausomybė nuo sociokultūrinės aplinkos bei švietimo ir kultūros paslaugų infrastruktūros išvystymo. Analizuojant socialinę bendruomenės sistemą, jos vystymosi bei struktūros pokyčius bei viešosios bibliotekos, kaip socialinės institucijos transformacijos požymius, atkreiptas dėmesys į viešosios bibliotekos galimybes vietos bendruomenėje jos sociokultūrinei, informacinei bei edukacinei situacijai gerinti ir viešosios bibliotekos pokyčių, lemiamų bendruomenės poreikių, perspektyvas. [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The subject-matter of the master’s thesis is the role of the public library in the community. The aim of the work is to define and evaluate the role of the public library as a socio-cultural object in the community. The goals of the research study are as follows: to establish cultural and information needs of the community, to review the mission and evolution of the public library, to estimate the need of the public library services and to define their structure, and to survey and evaluate the role of the branches of the Marijampolė municipality public library in small communities. Having used the theoretical methods of induction and comparison of the scientific literature and the empirical scientific research based on the method of analyzing data from statistics and the data acquired from the questionnaires, a conclusion was made that the public library plays a significant role in the social system of the community. Having applied the method of generalizing abstraction, there was observed a dependence of the functioning of the community as a social system on the development of the infra-structure of the socio-cultural environment and that of the educational and cultural services. Having analyzed territorial and social aspects, a conclusion was made that socialization and integration of the individual into the civil society takes place on the territorial basis in the set social environment through purposeful community and socio-cultural education.
