REVITALIZACE A PROSTOROVÁ KULTIVACE KLÁŠTERA ROSA COELLI V DOLNÍCH KOUNICÍCH / REVITALIZATION AND SPATIAL CULTIVATION MONASTERY ROSA COELLI IN DOLNÍ KOUNICE

Vankušová, Katarína January 2016 (has links)
Diploma thesis describes the design of roofing for the monastery Rosa Coeli. The initial thought to perform the revitalization of this complex via this way was formed after an exhausting research. At its current state, the Rosa Coeli is sought after and is very popular among tourists; however, as an object, it has a fairly limited impact to everyday life of residents of the city Dolní Kounice. The roofing will, understandably, change the character of the building. As such, it will be usable during the entire course of the year – not only for one-off events. The construction of the timber roof truss consists from solid features, where the chief endeavor was to preserve the unique genius loci.

REVITALIZACE A PROSTOROVÁ KULTIVACE KLÁŠTERA ROSA COELLI V DOLNÍCH KOUNICÍCH / REVITALIZATION AND SPATIAL CULTIVATION MONASTERY ROSA COELLI IN DOLNÍ KOUNICE

Proisl, Daniel January 2016 (has links)
The impressive ruin of the church certainly has its charm, and may be in the form of tourist attraction, but I think that nowadays it is a shame to have such a valuable relic with potentially attractive surroundings only on Sunday tours. In my own proposal I have tried to combine historic footprints of preserved vaults and slope of the roof with modern and extensively (maybe overall) prefabricated structures and roofing membrane.

Revitalizace Technického muzea v Brně / Revitalization of Technical Museum Brno

Sirová, Kristýna January 2017 (has links)
Project of revitalization of Technical museum Brno deals with extension of its complex. Museum has not enough capacity to shelter and expose all its large vehicles. The extension of transport museum is designed as an urban complex based on axes. The large architectural scale presents monumental objects as small as collection of toys. Typology is minimalistic and variable so it could react on various demands of exhibitions designers and public. Analytical part examines researches about museum exhibition's evolution and contemporary trends.

BŘECLAV - REVITALIZACE AREÁLU BÝVALÉHO CUKROVARU / BRECLAV - REVITALIZATION OF THE FORMER SUGAR REFINERY

Baťková, Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to create a strategy for the gradual integration of the dilapidated area into the city's cultural hub. This project is primarily focused on harnessing the lucrative position of a sugar factory in the center of the city and trying to create the ideal conditions for the emergence of a commercially viable urban environment within it. The area has the potential to create a much needed city center. The location is convenient and the existences of monumental former storage halls, which are among the oldest buildings in the city, would encapsulate the industrial heritage of Břeclav for this venture. Thus, the revitalization can assess both the area's location and surroundings, and more broadly even the more expansive imagery of the whole city. The task of the thesis is not to determine the final form of the area but rather to determine the direction in which the revitalization could go. Emphasis is placed on the process and methodology of renewal.

REVITALIZACE A OBNOVA VEŘEJNÝCH PROSTRANSTVÍ VE VELKÝCH NĚMČICÍCH / REVITALIZATION AND RENEWAL OF PUBLIC SPACES IN THE VELKÉ NĚMČICE

Kubovič, Marko Unknown Date (has links)
The aim of the diploma project entitled Revitalization and renewal of public spaces in Veľké Němčice was to find the right approach to finding a new use of the former brewery building located in the center of the village. With the right function, contribution to the development of the village was to transform part of the building into a community center, which in terms of capacity and location fits into the development strategy of the village. The second part of the building was at least partially restored to its original function in the form of a small brewery.

Jihlavské historické domy / Historical Houses Jihlava

Fojtová, Lucie Unknown Date (has links)
The subject of this thesis is an urban and architectural study of the area around the historical Gate of Matky Boží in Jihlava and a proposal for a development plan for this part of the historic centre. From the point of view of the context of the whole city and the integration of the area into its structure, the proposal restores the pedestrian permeability of the area by means of a footbridge connecting Matky Boží Street with the suburb. In addition, two parking structures are proposed on the site to help minimize the parking problem in the historic core and make way for new public spaces. The architectural portion of the work deals with the renovation of two historic houses owned by the city. The emphasis is on a new, sustainable functional use of the spaces of these listed buildings. The result is the design of a complex of two houses with a publicly accessible inner courtyard, which together form a vibrant part of the urban centre of Jihlava suitable for living, working, culture, entertainment, leisure and recreation.

Pendulum Performing Arts Center: Adaptive Reuse Design of the Historic Court Square Building in Springfield, Massachusetts

Schnarr, Lindsay M 01 January 2011 (has links) (PDF)
Drawing from the ongoing revitalization efforts in the Western Massachusetts post-industrial city of Springfield, Massachusetts, this adaptive reuse project aims to bring the public back to the city center by providing a common space for cultural connections. Sensitivity to preservation of the historic fabric of the existing Court Square Building is blended with the transformative potential of introducing architectural expressions of dance theory to create a school and theater for the performing arts. The study of balance between opposing, yet complimentary forces, as they exist in architecture and dance, creates a conceptual interplay that guides the design of this project. Viewing the existing historic building as a dance partner to the proposed contemporary addition, leads an exploration in the tectonic translation of form, rhythm, weight, movement and breath, as elements of dance theory that are developed to represent the building envelope, structure, materials, circulation and openings. Ultimately, the adapted building creates a dialogue for the past and present city of Springfield, simultaneously honoring its unique cultural heritage and future potential in serving as an icon for successful urban transformation.
