Slagen kvinna : Om mäns våld mot kvinnor

Danielsson, Pär January 2006 (has links)

This thesis discusses the subject of men’s violence towards women present day Sweden. My primary information consists of a national report, including men’s violence against women. The purpose of this thesis is to examine how men’s violence towards women is argued in the above named national report. As method I have used discourse analysis and social constructionism. An essential conclusion of this thesis is, according to the national report, that both beaten women and perpetrators are offered different treatment and help from the police and judiciary. Further results that can be mentioned concern, firstly the fact that “experts” are given legitimacy to formulate and define the problem men’s violence towards women. Secondly, it is intricate to estimate some progresses, considering men’s violence towards women, on the grounds of two aspects. We can’t, for a certainty, know if some eventual progresses depends on different social actors work with these questions, or the fact that different kind of studies use disparate methods.
