This thesis aims to extend the contribution of Daniélou\'s studies for the fields of Philosophy of Music, Music Theory and Musical Cognition, going beyond the field of Ethnomusicology within which his work is commonly classified, and to understand its contribution to the understanding of music today, both with regard to its reception and to the possibilities that its creative aspects opens. Being consistent with the system of Indian thought of Alain Daniélou, and its affirmation of the unknowability of ultimate reality and falsehood of the truth taken as dogma, we analyze their studies and researches as possible redescriptions or interpretations of the musical phenomenon, for this we based on the approach made by Gadamer between Theory and Philosophy and Rorty\'s propose that new object redescriptions contribute to broaden your knowledge, beyond this, we agree with Kuhn points about the scientific paradigms, and Vattimo attaches especially to the arts: persuasion and rhetorical conviction have a leading role in the consolidation of a paradigm, be it artistic or scientific. We understand the musical descriptions of Daniélou as close to the authors like Titus Burckhardt and his proposition of Sacred Art as well as Joscelyn Godwin and the Speculative Music. It also analyzes the studies and the surveys of Daniélou more like a proposition, a contribution to the development of a new creative possibility in the field of music, than a systematization of an existing music. As a result, the approach of the Daniélou\'s work allows the possibility of defining and comparing the groups and terms Speculative Music and Musical Speculation; Sacred Music and Sacralization of Music; Doctrine of Ethos, Theory of Affections, and Expression of Feelings; the symbolism involved in musical metaphysical approach proposed by Daniélou and his Universal Scale of the Sounds allows us to define the terms Tonic and Fundamental or Root. Finally we propose a theoretical-philosophical interpretation addressed to the poetics of musical creation considering the possibilities opened up by its scale as a different kind of relativism of the Equal Temperament System, perspectivism, fertile ground for the creation.

Gastronomy as a tool for peace and resistance in the Holy LandSöderlind, Ulrica January 2019 (has links)
This thesis is a study within the international master program “Religion in Peace and Conflict” at the department of theology at Uppsala University. The study should be seen as a microstudy over the role gastronomy plays as a tool for peace and resistance in the Holy Land. Jerusalem represent Israel and Tabye and Bethlehem represent Palestine in the study. The method used is the so-called abductive method or reasoning, where I am the one who is observing and analysing data from an ethnographical standpoint. The study is interdisciplinary in the way that cookbooks, interviews, personal observations and photographs are used as primary sources. The theory “The gastronomic man” are the theoretical framework. The theory deals with the factors that are of importance for the choices humans make when it comes to food and beverage. The results of the study indicates that gastronomy is present at least on two levels in society in the Holy Land, on a high political level manifested via diplomatic gastronomy and on a more personal level where the informants works with gastronomy both as a tool for peace, and for the Palestinians also a way to overcome the effects of the occupation. The results also indicates that education within the culinary arts are of great importance in order to understand other groups’ cuisines than one’s own. The cuisines that falls back on heritage, culture and nations. It is suggested that gastronomy can take the part of religion itself for its practitioners since themselves constructs what is sacred.

Les formes du temps dans l’œuvre d'Albert Cohen / Forms of time in the novels of Albert CohenKouassi, Amenan Gisèle 10 June 2013 (has links)
Forms at the time Albert Cohen showed that there is an interaction between chronological time and history novels written between the lines of all works. Different forms and modes of expression of time in Cohen are the foundation of a plural writing in contradiction with the times. Cohen's work transcends all divisions of temporality poetic, romantic, lyrical, dramatic, autobiographical, profane and sacred dimension to achieve a universal construction based on the time difference. The History is precisely to allow the decryption part time by man through an intimate experience with the various manifestations common in novels cohéniens are waiting, loneliness, boredom and melancholy. The intimate moment is not only unlimited but it remains open in several horizons thereby also the coexistence of multiple spatio-temporal sequences. With history, time admits two parallel realities : first, land, from which he begins to evaluate the chronological time and linear second, involving the mythical first giving it a foothold in the time of old regenerates the writer with the advent of a new Adam.

Mensagens de mundos em contraste: diálogos possíveis entre Mensagem e Sagrada Esperança / Messages from contrasting worlds: possible dialogues between Message and Sacred HopeAlessandra Batista 03 September 2014 (has links)
By bringing close two discourses as different as the ones in Message, by Fernando Pessoa, and Sacred Hope, by Agostinho Neto, contrasting visions of the role of art come forth, as new lights are cast on the identity and peculiarities of each work. By drawing parallels between those visions, it is given the opportunity to discuss the power of literature in the search for understanding and improving of mans experience in the world. With its strolls through the poems and its suggested interpretations, this dissertation attempts to scrutinize the means by which the poetic labor manages to create a reality of its own that, though fictional, revels itself as able to significantly influence reality

Previous issue date: 2013-12-20 / This thesis presents research on the discursive gender representation of nuns and prostitutes . The study, which placed in the dialogue of French Discourse Analysis (DA) and Women's Studies, problematizes the essentializing notion of female identity in the space of the sacred and the profane and approach about the view of subjectivity. The intention was, about the assumptions of AD, identify knowledge and demands that are nuns and face prostitutes the processes of interpellation-identification in a historical moment in which social conditions intent the subjective condition. To conduct the survey, consisted of a file statements with the answers given by the women of the two groups to the question "What is a woman?". File, were cut SDRs (discursive reference sequences), which were analyzed about the category of subject position . With the analysis of SDRs, it was found that nuns and prostitutes identify with the prevailing ideology but also to identify against occupying positions subject heterogeneous and divergent. From these subject-positions, it was possible not only to discuss gender relations experienced by the nuns and prostitutes but also to list the similarities and differences between the two groups of women and similarities and differences among women of the same group. Given these results, we conclude that the nuns and prostitutes resignify "to be woman" in their discursive spaces / Esta tese apresenta a pesquisa sobre a representação discursiva de gênero de freiras e de prostitutas.

Previous issue date: 2011-02-09 / Our purpose of study and corpus research is the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, a
Pentecostal hustle, introduced in the Roman Catholic Christian religious institution.
The objective in this work is to understand the action of the sacred in any miracle
purpose, our goal is to analyze the concepts of miracle cure in the Catholic
Charismatic Renewal presented by the faithful, from their narratives about how they
its impacts on personal and social life of those who took part in the experience of the
miraculous phenomena, that is, cancer cure. Charismatic Renewal, thus enabling an
environment conducive to the pursuit of religious offering (occurrence of miracles) to
the
sacred, from feelings as belief and supernatural faith, but without leaving the
conventional treatment. Reestablishing them physical, psychic and emotionally,
giving them a purpose (nomia) to their existence. It will be developed through a field
research, supported in the sociological discussion of religion that will enable us to
identify each Catholic Charismatic Renewal, beyond the therapeutic function,
element as convener (because of its paradoxical character), between Religion and
Medicine, faith and science. In particular, it will be focused through this labor, to
analyze and present the experience of the miracle with a group of 7 (seven) women
Brazil. For this current analysis, it will be used, in our fieldwork, two investigative
methods: participant observation and implementation of two research questionnaires
(self-applicable). Therefore we realize that religion, mainly the Catholic Charismatic
Renewal is a way to provide its followers to try religion or it may lead to the meeting
cancer. In Catholic Charismatic Renewal, the miracle cure comes as a converging
space between Religion and Medicine because these two realities in modern ages
are prone to reconnect towards the solution of modern problems. This encounter
provides changes in the psychological and social behavior, because they
correspond, respectively, a change in the order of the conscious and unconscious
and, hence a behavioral intrapersonal and interpersonal change.
fenômenos milagrosos, isto é, a cura do câncer.
especial, buscar-se-á, neste trabalho, analisar e apresentar a experiência do milagre
cidade de Goiânia, GO.
comportamental intrapessoal e interpessoal.

paper, which has the spiritual mediumship as its specific object of investigation. The
present study was developed based on various fields of human knowledge, such as
anthropology, psychopathology, knowledge about mental health and its recent
achievements. Concepts of religious experience, mediumship and psychopathology
are worked in order to clarify questions which were inserted in this study, and these
questions have to do with mediumship, religious experience and mental health. The
methodology used was the review of the classical bibliography with concepts and
cases that exemplify psychic manifestations. From this review, assumptions were
made on the central theme - mediumship, religious experience and mental health.
Concepts of umbanda and kardecist spiritism were used to illustrate and identify the
diversity of the theme. From the perspective of psychic suffering, mediumship,
religious experience and mental health were addressed together in order to show
that it is possible to develop mental health experiencing suffering and anguish, since
they are welcomed and thus able to restore the notion of the self. This study
contributes to the understanding of mediumship as religious experience which leads
towards the good exercise of mental health, since individuals who are able to
develop their psychic experiences become important for the well-being of the whole
community. / A mediunidade correlacionada à experiência religiosa e saúde mental é o tema desta
ilustrar e identificar a diversidade do tema. Sob a perspectiva do sofrimento psíquico,

Previous issue date: 2007-04-25 / Arts as an expression of the human being as a whole has always been directly related to
rituals. The dance as an artistic expression, and as part of those rituals, develops it self
in each culture as a means of expressing the maturing concepts cultural values of a
people. It becomes a mirror of the society from which it comes. This study endeavours to
analyse dance as an expression of worship to deity (the sacred). It looks to discuss the
process which took place as dance lost its fundamental place as part of Christian
worship. Furthermore it looks at how dance regained its place in the current Christian
worship trend. The study also endeavours to encourage a timely reflection on this
current phenomena. A dança

Letopolis and the 2nd province of Lower Egypt : sacred geography Research.Cagnard, Léo 09 December 2016 (has links)
The aim of this PhD is to study the 2nd province of Lower Egypt, and its towns, of which the main one was Khem/Sekhem. This area was called the Letopolite nome since the Ptolemaic Period and according to its new metropolis : Letopolis. Nowadays, this province is situated to the north of Giza’s governorate where some remains were found, particularly on the site of the former metropolis, todays Ausim which is located 12 km northwest of Cairo. These findings don’t provide a lot of information about places and cults in this region. However, the province and some identified place names in the region (Khem/SekhemIyt, Imhedj/Kemhedj, Sakhebu, Ro-hesau, Sa-ta ...) are present in other Egyptian sources, sacred and profane. The established corpus of gathered documents mentioning a place-name of the region, its gods or local titles from the Early Dynastic Period up to the Greco-Roman Period in Egyptian, hieroglyphic, hieratic and demotic language. The purpose of this study aiming at drawing up a general view of the sacred geography of this region and, at trying from sources which are outside it, to determine what could be the local contexts, and those dependent of a national theology. Four main themes are developed in the essay. Firstly, the study of the places introduces their names, their possible location and identification, function and historical elements known when possible. The second part broaches the gods-themselves, classified according to their main city or sanctuary while detailing their duties. Thirdly, we discuss the myths, rites and res sacrae of the province and present the main topics that are attached to this province locally and in the national religion. The fourth part is devoted to a prosopographic study and analysis of the titles appearing in the province by presenting the various registered families, the titles and the functions they bore throughout Egyptian history.
