This thesis is a “dense description” of the Sama (audition) ritual – the spiritual concert composed by prayer, recitation, song, music and dance, inspired by the Persian Jalaluddin Rumi or Mevlana (1207-1273) in Konya (Turkey), in the thirteen century – as is practiced nowadays.
