Aves do arquipélago de Santana e litoral continental adjacente Macaé - Rio de Janeiro, Brasil

Foram observadas 77 espécies: sete marinhas, 10 aquáticas e 60 terrestres. As espécies aquáticas e terrestres podem ser categorizadas como visitantes, migratórias e residentes. As visitantes vêm à ilha periodicamente. As migratórias vêm à ilha ao acaso. A ilha de Santana possui 18 espécies com populações constantes. Foram feitos inventários com menos detalhes na ilha do Francês e no litoral continental adjacente. No continente registrou-se 52 espécies, sendo 40 comuns à ilha de Santana. Na ilha do Francês foram observadas 26 espécies todas com ocorrência na ilha do Santana e na área continental. São relatados aspectos comportamentais envolvendo dispersão, reprodução, forrageamento, mudança de habitat e variação na ocorrência de congenéricos. / A survey of the bird fauna of tbe Santana island, southeastern coast of Brazil was done for a period of 25 months. Seventy seven species were recorded: 7 marine species, 10 aquatic and 60 terrestrial. Aquatic and terrestrial species could be classified in three categories: visiting, migratory and resident. The visiting species probably visit the island periodically. The migratory ones come to the island at random. Santana island has 18 species with stable populations. Cursory survey had been done on the nearby mainland and on Francês island. Fifty two species were recorded in the nearby mainland, 40 of which shared with Santana island. Francês island had 26 species recorded, all shared with Santana and the mainland. Behavioural traits are reported: dispersion, reproduction, foraging, habitat shifts and variation in the occcurence of congeneric species.
