Electronic fee collection in the Czech republic and possibilities of its future utilising / Elektronické mýtné v České republice a možnosti jeho budoucího využití

Electronic Fee Collection (EFC) is spread almost all over the Europe. Its main duty is to collect fees by on board units. The system of electronic toll does not need to be inevitably only a tool for fee collection. The combination of DSRC and DNSS systems might bring new horizons in terms of telematic data usable for wide variety of services. This diploma thesis in its theoretical part deals with electronic toll systems in general and shows how the system works in chosen countries of Europe. Special focus is on Czech toll system, its implementation and evaluation of its economic contributions year after year. From this point of view, the Czech system works fully. In practical part, the focus is on widening of the system functionality. At this moment, the on board units works only as a tool for collecting fees. However, thanks to combination of microwave and satellite system, the on board unit could become also a very intelligent tool for collecting of telematic data.

Statistické zpracování družicových dat gama záblesků / Statistical analysis of the gamma-ray bursts satellite data

In this thesis the Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) are studied, the brightest explosions in the universe. GRBs have been observed since year 1967, but there are several unsolved problems. In the first chapter there is an introduction to the issue of GRBs, and the history of observations are briefly described. The Fermi satellite, the latest satellite devoted to gamma-ray burst observations is described in chapter two. Characteristics of the Fermi instruments are also described. The observed data of GRBs are characterized in the third chapter. The distribution of GRB durations, distances, and spectral hardnesses are described. The characteristics of long and short GRBs (distance, isotropy of distribution, metalicity dependence, isotropic energy) are described. A chance of the appearance of a GRB in the Milky Way is discussed. New Fermi observations are described too. Fourth chapter is about models of GRBs. The fireball and canonball models are described. Fifth chapter is focused on the exposure function of CGRO-BATSE, Fermi-GBM, Swift. I have created the exposure function for GBM on Fermi satellite. It is quite difficult, and I have assumed some simplified hypotheses. Modelování a simulace příjímače komunikačního systému pro bezpilotní letadla / Modelling and simulation of communication system receiver for unmanned aircraft

This diploma thesis deals with the simulation of the radio communication system for satellite control of unmanned aircraft, namely the command and control communication link – the forward link. The aim of the thesis is to create a simulator in the Matlab environment. The simulator includes a model of the transmitter, radio channel and receiver. Four-state CPM modulation with partial response and filtered symbol shape is used. The radio channel performs noise, frequency Doppler shift and time delay to the received signal. Subsequently, in the Acquisition Unit, the Doppler shift and time delay are detected and compensated. At the end of the thesis, the simulation results of the presented model are presented in the form of graphs đť¸s/đť‘0.

Rekonstrukce opakujících se segmentů DNA / Reconstruction of Repetitive DNA Segments

Hlavní motivací diplomové práce bylo najít vhodný algoritmus, který by vytvořil grafovou reprezentaci NGS sekvenačních dat v lineárním čase. Zvolenou metodou pro reprezentaci je de Bruijnův graf. V další části práce byl navrhnut nástroj, který je schopen transformovat graf do přijatelné podoby pro vykreslování, a dále je schopen odstraňovat chyby, které vznikají při konstrukci grafu. Cílem práce je vytvořit nástroj, který rekonstruuje repetitivní segmenty v DNA. Implementovaný nástroj byl otestován a je schopen identifikovat opakující se segmenty, určit jejich typy, vizualizovat je a sestavit jejich sekvenci na jednodušších genomech s velkou přesnotí. Při použití složitějších genomů, nástroj nalezne pouze fragmenty repetitivních segmentů.

Nesse sentido, o objetivo principal desta tese foi investigar a magnitude e distribui??o dos recursos e?licos offshore, verificando tamb?m possibilidades de complementaridade com a fonte h?drica. Para isto, foi utilizado uma s?rie de dados de precipita??o do Climatic Research Unit (CRU) e conjunto de dados satelit?rios de velocidade de vento do projeto Blended Sea Winds da National Climatic Data Center (NCDC/NOAA). De acordo com crit?rios estat?sticos foi encontrado tr?s tipos de complementaridade presentes no territ?rio brasileiro: h?drica h?drica, e?lica e?lica e h?drica e?lica. Notou-se que houve complemento bastante significativo (r=-0,65) entre as fontes, h?drica e e?lica, principalmente das bacias hidrogr?ficas do sudeste e centro oeste com os ventos do Nordeste. Com intuito de refinar a extrapola??o dos ventos sobre o oceano, foi utilizado m?todo baseado na teoria de Monin-Obukhov para modelar a estabilidade da camada limite atmosf?rica. Foi utilizado o conjunto de dados de fluxos de calor, temperatura e umidade do Projeto Objectively Analized Air-Sea Flux (OAFLUX), al?m de dados de press?o ao n?vel do mar do projeto NCEP/NCAR e o modelo de relevo global ETOPO1 da National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC/NOAA). Verificou-se um bom recurso em ?guas rasas, entre 0-20 metros, estimados em 559 GW. A contribui??o do recurso e?lico em um reservat?rio, foi investigada com um modelo h?brido e?lico-hidr?ulico simplificado que permitiu o c?lculo do n?vel dos reservat?rios a partir de dados de vaz?o afluente, defluente e produ??o de turbina. Notou-se que o sistema h?brido evita os per?odos de estiagem, poupando continuamente ?gua dos reservat?rios atrav?s da produ??o e?lica. Assim, a partir dos resultados obtidos, ? poss?vel afirmar que os bons ventos das costa brasileira podem, al?m de diversificar a matriz el?trica, estabilizar as flutua??es h?dricas evitando racionamentos e apag?es, reduzindo o uso das t?rmicas que eleva o custo de produ??o e emite gases poluentes. Pol?ticas p?blicas voltadas ao incentivo da energia e?lica offshore ser?o necess?rias para seu pleno desenvolvimento. / The stabilization of energy supply in Brazil has been a challenge for the operation of the National Interconnected System in face of hydrological and climatic variations. Thermoelectric plants have been used as an emergency source for periods of water scarcity. The utilization of fossil fuels, however, has elevated the cost of electricity. On the other hand, offshore wind energy has gained importance in the international context and is competitive enough to become a possibility for future generation in Brazil. In this scenario, the main goal of this thesis was to investigate the magnitude and distribution of offshore wind resources, and also verify the possibilities of complementing hydropower. A data series of precipitation from the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) Blended Sea Winds from the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC/NOAA) were used. According to statistical criteria, three types of complementarity were found in the Brazilian territory: hydro ? hydro, wind ? wind and hydro ? wind. It was noted a significant complementarity between wind and hydro resources (r = -0.65), mainly for the hydrographical basins of the southeast and central regions with Northeastern Brazil winds. To refine the extrapolation of winds over the ocean, a method based on the Monin-Obukhov theory was used to model the stability of the atmospheric boundary layer. Objectively Analyzed Air-Sea Flux (OAFLUX) datasets for heat flux, temperature and humidity, and also sea level pressure data from NCEP/NCAR were used. The ETOPO1 from the National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC/NOAA) provided bathymetric data. It was found that shallow waters, between 0-20 meters, have a resource estimated at 559 GW. The contribution of wind resources to hydroelectric reservoir operation was investigated with a simplified hybrid wind-hydraulic model, and reservoir level, inflow, outflow and turbine production data. It was found that the hybrid system avoids drought periods, continuously saving water from reservoirs through wind production. Therefore, from the results obtained, it is possible to state that the good winds from the Brazilian coast can, besides diversifying the electric matrix, stabilize the hydrological fluctuations avoiding rationing and blackouts, reducing the use of thermal power plants, increasing the production cost and emission of greenhouse gases. Public policies targeted to offshore wind energy will be necessary for its full development.

Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery : Analysis of two scheduling algorithms

Unmanned, as well as manned space missions have seen a high failure rate in the early era of space technology. However, this decreased a lot since technology advanced and engineers learnt from previous experiences and improved critical real time systems with fault detection mechanisms. Fault detection, isolation and recovery, nowadays, is generally available in every flying device. However, the cost of hardware can bottleneck the process of creating such a system that is both robust and responsive. This thesis analyses the possibility of implementing a fault detection, isolation and recovery system inside of a single-threaded, cooperative scheduling operating system. The thesis suggests a cooperative implementation of such a system, where every task is responsible for parts of the fault detection. The analysis is done from both the integration layer, across the operating system and its tasks, as well as from the inside of the detection system, where two key components are implemented and analyzed: debug telemetry and operation modes. Results show that it is possible to implement a fault detection system that is spread across all the components of the satellite and acts cooperatively. Furthermore, the comparison with a traditional, dedicated fault detection system proves that errors can be caught faster with a cooperative mechanism. / Obemannade såväl som bemannade rymduppdrag har sett ett högt misslyckande i rymdteknikens tidiga era. Detta har dock förbättrats mycket sedan ingenjörer började lära sig av sina tidigare erfarenheter och utrustade kritiska realtidssystem med feldetekteringsmekanismer. Idag är alla flygande enheter utrustade med feldetekterings-, isolerings- och återställningsmekanismer. Däremot kan kostnaden för hårdvara vara ett problem för processen att skapa ett sådant system som är både robust och mottagligt. Denna uppsats analyserar möjligheten att implementera ett feldetekterings-, isolerings- och återställningssystem inuti ett enkelgängat samarbetsplaneringssystem. Denna uppsats föreslår ett samarbete för implementering av ett sådant system, där varje uppgift ansvarar för delar av feldetekteringen. Analysen görs från både integrationsskiktet, över operativsystemet och dess uppgifter, samt från insidan av detekteringssystemet, där två nyckelkomponenter implementeras och analyseras. Resultaten visar att det är möjligt att implementera ett feldetekteringssystem som täcker alla satellitkomponenter och som är mottaglig. Aceasta teza analizeaza posibilitatea implementarii unui sistem de detect,ie, izolare s, i recuperare de la erori într-un satelit care este echipat cu un procesor cu un singur fir de execut,ie, care are un sistem de planificare cooperativ în sistemul de operare. Aceasta teza sugereaza o implementare cooperativa a unui astfel de sistem, unde fiecare proces este responsabil de câte o parte din detectarea erorilor. Analiza este realizata atât din perspectiva integrarii în sistemul de operare s, i procesele acestuia, cât s, i din interiorul acestui sistem de detect,ie, unde doua elemente importante sunt implementate s, i analizate: telemetria de depanare s, i modurile de operare. Rezultatele arata faptul ca este posibila implementarea unui sistem de detect,ie care este împart, it în toate componentele sistemului unui satelit s, i se comporta cooperativ. Mai departe, comparat,ia cu un sistem tradit,ional, dedicat, de detect,ie a erorilor arata ca erorile pot fi detectate mai rapid cu un sistem cooperativ.

Koncepční návrh zástavby tepelného spínače do konstrukce družice / Conceptual design of a heat switch installation into a structure of satellite

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na sestavení přehledu konstrukcí a teplených cest kosmických lodí a kosmických vozidel, které se v současné době používají. Na základě specifických požadavků a standardů jsou vypracovány koncepční návrhy zástavby tepelného spínače do konstrukce družice. V jednotlivých kapitolách jsou popsány určité členy, které se na vedení tepla podílí a jsou důležité pro navrhované koncepty z pohledu konstrukce. Diplomová práce popisuje postupy výpočtu tepelných vodivostí a rozložení působící tíhové síly do míst uchycení pro jednotlivé koncepty. Na závěr provádí hodnocení a výběr potenciálně nejvhodnějšího návrhu.

Formy a funkce přímé řeči v žánrové struktuře novinových zpráv / The function of direct forms of presentation in the generic structure of newspaper reports

The thesis deals with the employment of direct forms of presentation in the genre of hard news. The texts for the analysis were excerpted from the main British broadsheet newspapers. The classification of forms of presentation is based on Semino and Short (2004) and focuses on their deictic and syntactic properties, interpreted in terms of the pragmatic concepts of perspective, faithfulness claims and the role of the reported and reporting speaker. Attention is paid to various direct forms, including direct speech, free direct speech and combined forms, i.e. non-direct forms appearing with a partial direct quote. The thesis draws heavily on the work by White (1998), whose approach to genre is informed by the ideas proposed by the Sydney School and Systemic Functional Linguistics. Hard news is characterised by the orbital generic structure, consisting of the nucleus and a number of specifying satellites (White 1998). The occurrence of direct and combined forms of presentation is explained by their deictic, syntactic and pragmatic properties, the generic role and characteristic features of the nucleus and individual satellites, and the overall function of hard news.
