The open archives and open access initiatives are contributing significantly for the undoing of the traditional model of scientific communication and for the construction of a new disaggregated model and with interoperability, fairer and efficient to disseminate the research results and like this, the knowledge generated by the scientific communities. However, due to the progresses of the information and communication technologies, not only the structure and the flow of the scientific communication is suffering considerable alterations, as well as the own concept and support of the scientific documents. This has been generating the need of the development of tools to optimize the organization, description, exchange and information retrieval processes, besides the digital preservation, among others. Highlight that the MARC format it has been allowing per decades the description and the exchange of bibliographical and cataloging registrations to the institutions, favoring the access to the contents informacionais contained in several collections. However, with the exponential growth of information and of the documents generation (above all digital), this has been demanding larger flexibility and interoperability among the several information systems available. In this scenery, the XML markup language is presented as one of the current developments that has as purpose to facilitate and to optimize the administration, storage and transmission of contents through Internet, it being incorporate for several sections and areas of the knowledge for the handling easiness and operational flexibility. Considera as tecnologias de informação e comunicação, em particular a Internet, como fonte potencializadora de difusão do conhecimento científico. Em especial, ressalta o periódico científico como um dos principais veículos de comunicação dos resultados de pesquisa nesse âmbito. Apresenta como objetivo principal, um Modelo para análise de usabilidade de periódico científico eletrônico, enfatizando os elementos da arquitetura da informação e da usabilidade de website para publicação eletrônica. Reflete sobre a perspectiva interacionista que reconhece a importância da atuação do usuário como integrante ativo no processo ensino-aprendizagem. Como objetos de estudo apresenta as revistas on-line RAE-eletrônica e REAd - Revista Eletrônica de Administração. A metodologia consta da comparação das estruturas dos periódicos selecionados, aplicada a um modelo já validado, e da aplicação de um questionário acompanhado de entrevista do grupo focal como métodos prospectivos de avaliação de usabilidade sob a ótica de usuários. Os avaliadores são alunos e docentes do curso de administração que participam de atividades na graduação e pós-graduação. Como resultados, apresentam-se as análises e discussões sobre a organização e estrutura das informações no ambiente digital de periódicos científicos e que devem ser consideradas para garantir a qualidade e a funcionalidade dos formatos eletrônicos bem como o Modelo para análise de usabilidade de periódico científico eletrônico. / Abstract: The present research is intended for addressing aspects related to the scientific communication considered primary source to spread scientific knowledge, which facilitates the interchange among researchers in several science fields. It also considers information and communication technologies, specially the Internet, as source to potentize the spreading of scientific knowledge. Moreover, this work presents the scientific journal as one of the main vehicles for communicating research results, and searches for references in the quality criteria which classify the vehicle, as well as in the principles and recommendations presented in the literature such as indicators to improve the structures of information hypermedia environments developed to the web. There is also a reflection on the interactionist perspective which recognizes the importance of the user as active part of the learning process. As study subject, it was selected the "RAE Eletrônica" and "REAd Revista Eletrônica de Administração", both on-line magazines, in order to carry a comparative analysis between the selected websites and journals, identifying elements observed in their structures and functionalities. Finally, along with an interview and focus group, a questionnaire was applied in order to evaluate usability from the viewpoint of the users who evaluated the system. These evaluators are students and Business Management teachers who participate in graduation and post-graduation activities related to their knowledge field. As a result, it is presented an analysis and discussion about data organization and structure in the digital environment of scientific journals, which must be considered in order to guarantee quality and functionality of the electronic format, as well as model of usability analysis. / Mestre

O aproveitamento eficiente e eficaz do conhecimento científico, o acesso a ele e sua disseminação para a sociedade é um desafio de cientistas e comunicadores. Com este objetivo, a Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (Fapesp) criou os Centros de Pesquisa, Inovação e Difusão (CEPID). Eles têm em sua missão a difusão do conhecimento científico, entretanto, a comunicação midiática é realizada de maneira distinta nas unidades, ressentindo-se, inclusive, da falta de profissionais especializados nesse trabalho, além de outras carências. A pesquisa pretende dar uma contribuição para aperfeiçoar o sistema de gestão da informação científica e tornar a comunicação midiática mais efetiva nos CEPID. São analisados três dos dez centros existentes, aqueles cuja direção se encontra na cidade de São Carlos, conhecida como a "Capital da Tecnologia", em função de sua vocação científica pela presença de universidades e instituições de pesquisa. / Abstract: Information is the raw material for the inclusion in knowledge society, characterized by speed of change at science, in information technologies and communication, in the beginning of the century XXI. The efficient and effective use of the scientific knowledge, and its access and dissemination for the society is a challenge for scientists and reporters. With this purpose, the State of São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) has created the Research, Innovation and Disseminatin Centers (Cepid's). They have as mission the diffusion of scientific knowledge, however, in units the media communication is accomplished in a different way, being resent of professionals lack specialized in that work, as well as other lacks. The research intends to contribute to the improvement of scientific information management and to turn media communication more effective in Cepid's. Three of ten existing centers will be analyzed, those who direction meets in São Carlos city, know as "the Capital of Technology", in fuction of its scientific vocation by the presence of universities and research institutions. / Mestre
