A pesquisa partiu da hipótese de que a diversidade de informações possa abrir o leque de interpretações, possibilitar a contraposição de visões e facilitar a manifestação pelos estudantes de suas opiniões e interesses. Os livros escolhidos para a pesquisa foram Isaac Newton e sua maçã e Albert Einstein e seu Universo Inflável. A pesquisa foi realizada em classes dos 10 e 20 anos do ensino médio, de uma escola pública numa cidade do interior do estado de São Paulo. Os referenciais teóricos que guiaram este trabalho foram os da Análise do Discurso, da escola francesa. A importância que a análise de discurso dá às condições de produção na atividade discursiva, fez com que se considerasse esse referencial adequado para buscar compreender o funcionamento da leitura de divulgação científica em determinadas situações escolares / Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the functioning of the reading of scientific books in school in specific conditions. The research carne from the hypothesis that the diversity of Information, from different readings, can open up the interpretations, make possible the opposition of visions and facilitate for the students to manifest their opinions and interests. The books chosen for the research in c1ass were lsaac Newton and his apple and Albert Einstein and his lnslatable Universe, which are part ofthe collection Dead of Fame. The research was taken in c1assrooms of a public High School of the interior of São Paulo. The theoretical assumption of this work is the Discourse Analysis, of the French school.
