Huang, Yu-Ting 07 September 2005 (has links)
The Criteria and Relative Suggestions of Elementary School Teachers in Selecting Chinese Textbooks Abstract The purpose of the research is to analyze teachers¡¦ opinions about the criteria and their suggestions for selecting the Chinese textbook. In order to achieve the research goal, the researcher¡A based on documentary analysis ¡A makes self-written materials about ¡§survey of teachers on criteria and suggestion of selecting the Chinese textbook in the elementary school.¡¨ The population of this survey was elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung area. 563 teachers were stratifiedly sampled from 48 elementary schools were the samples by using Stratified Sampling. Among Them 403 returning surveys were effecitve. The data analysis was conducted through the Descriptive statistics, T-test,and One-Way ANOVA. 1. According to the teachers¡¦ opinions on criteria of selecting the Chinese textbook, the order of importance is Teaching-Related Attributes, Physical-Related Attributes, Publication-Related Attributes, Outside-Related Attributes, and Context-Related Attributes of textbook. 2. In the Context-Related Attributes, teachers stressed on the correction of the content, and the capability of approaching the grade 1-9 curriculum competence indicators. 3. In Teaching-Related Attributes, teachers focused on the attraction of students' motivation and the instructional strategies of conforming the grade 1-9 curriculum competence indicators in the selecting book. 4. In Physical-Related Attributes, teachers emphasized the most on the size of typeface basing on the suitability of reading. 5. In Publication-Related Attributes, teachers emphasized the most on the continuance of the research which the publisher could make in linguistic field. 6. In Outside-Related Attributes, teachers stressed the most on the experience of using Chinese textbook and the educational philosophy in the textbook. 7. Female teachers paid more attention to Teaching-Related Attributes and Context-Related Attributes than the male teachers. 8. The teachers in large-scale schools paid more attention to Publication-Related Attributes of textbook than the teachers in other schools. 9. The elementary school teachers in remote districts paid more attention to all attributes of textbook than the teachers in cities and towns. 10. 62.8% of the elementary school teachers agreed that teachers are the major population who could make the choice of textbooks to use. 11. 97.9% of the elementary school teachers thought that teachers should be the faculties who could select textbooks to use, but they lacked consistency of thoughts that parents of the students also need to select textbooks. 12. Only a few elementary school teachers expressed that there were continual evaluations of textbook proceeding in their schools. Based upon the above conclusions, this research provides suggestions to and reference material for teachers, schools, publishers, educational administration and future research. Keywords: textbook. criteria of selecting the Chinese textbook. the suggestion of selecting the Chinese textbook

Sélection Séquentielle en Environnement Aléatoire Appliquée à l'Apprentissage Supervisé

Caelen, Olivier 25 September 2009 (has links)

The strategy of recruiting life insurance salesperson that exhibit excellent performance ¡Ð The case of Prudential Life Insurance Company of Taiwan Inc.

Hsu, Tien-Chih 30 July 2006 (has links)
Abstract Based on the underlying intentions of life insurance, if managers of insurance companies truly understands the importance of insurance to the society, their management philosophy would be grounded on care for the needs of the public and implement such philosophy as their management objective. Yet, according to the year 2004 statistics published by the Life Insurance Association of the Republic of China, the average insured value of new life insurance contracts is merely NTD 780,000 in 2004. The average insured value of effective contracts is NTD 780,000, while the ratio of insurance coverage is 166.3% (effective contract divided by total population). This indicates that the average payout for every death is only NTD 1,290,000, indicating significant inadequacy of life cover. There is a popular saying in the insurance business, ¡§birds would be found where there are trees, and business achievements would be found where there are people¡¨. The majority of sales departments in life insurance companies focus on achievement of new contracts; new staff will bring sales to the company. Increased rates of ineffective policies arising from low retention rate of new salespeople, lack of professionalism among salespeople, or inadequate service were not considered. Therefore, insurance salespeople are not only the key elements in the business achievements of insurance companies, but also the key personnel underlying long term performance indices. The objectives of this study are: 1)What are the characteristics of salesperson that exhibit excellent performance? 2)Which recruiting channel recruits the best insurance salesperson? 3)What are the methodologies for recruiting and selecting insurance salesperson? 4)What are the impacts of such recruiting methods on the performance of the insurance company? 5)Are the insurance salesperson recruited through such channels appropriate to the needs of the company? A case study is adopted as the research method. The subject company ¡V Prudential of Taiwan (POT), clearly understands that business performance is grounded on having professional insurance salespeople. Hence the long term business objective of POT is to recruit and nurture professional life insurance planners, which is different to the management approach adopted by majority of the insurance companies in Taiwan. The recruiting and selecting methodology of the case company was studied. The business philosophy, sources of recruitment, recruiting and selecting methods and processes were reviewed. Furthermore, in-depth staff interviews to gain their viewpoints on recruitment were conducted. Results of the study into the recruitment methodology and interviews were compared to reflect the results of long term key performance index of insurance company. The findings of this study are: the long term performance index of POT, namely staff retention rate, individual average insured value per new policy, insurance company retention rate, persistency rate of the policy, rate of passing staff qualification tests and, MDRT membership qualification rate, the incremental rate of the premium income, were all rated above competitors. ¡iKeywords¡j Prudential of Taiwan¡ALife Insurance¡ARecruiting¡ASelecting¡ALifePlanner

考慮兩階段相依製程下量測誤差對指數加權移動平均管制圖之效應研究 / Effects of Measurement Error on EWMA Control Charts for Two-Step Process

何漢葳, Ho, Han-Wei Unknown Date (has links)
無 / In this article, a two-step process is considered to investigate the effects of measurement errors on EWMA and cause-selecting EWMA control charts. At the end of current process, a pair of imprecise measurements of in-coming quality and out-going quality is randomly taken with individual units. The linear relationship between in-coming quality and out-going quality is assumed and four possible states of the process are defined with respective distributions of in-coming and out-going qualities derived. The EWMA control chart with measurement error is then constructed to monitor small-scale shift in mean for the previous process while the cause-selecting control chart, or EWMA control chart based on residuals, including measurement error, is proposed to diagnose the state of current process. Based on sensitivity analysis, the presence of imprecise measurement diminishes the power of both the EWMA and the proposed control charts and affects the detectability of process disturbances. Further, applications of proposed control charts are demonstrated through a numerical example to show some possible misuses of control charts. If the process mean shifts in a small scale when a single assignable cause occurs on each step, the proposed cause-selecting control chart is more sensitive than other control charts. The Hotelling T^2 control chart is also compared to illustrate the diagnostic advantage outweighed by proposed cause-selecting control chart.

數據相關之二階製程管制 / Two-step Process Control for Autocorrelated data

陳維倫, Chen, Wei-Lun Unknown Date (has links)
Most products are produced by several process steps and have more than one interested quality characteristics. If each step of the process is independent, and the observations taken from the process are also independent then we may use Shewhart control chart at each step. However, in many processes, most production steps are dependent and the observations taken from the process are correlated. In this research, we consider the process has two dependent steps and the observations taken from the process are correlated over time. We construct the individual residual control chart to monitor the previous process and the cause-selecting control chart to monitor the current process. Then simulate all the states occur in the process and present the individual residual control chart and the cause-selecting control chart of the simulations. Furthermore compare the proposed control charts with the Hotelling T2 control chart. At last, we give an example to illustrate how to construct the proposed control From the proposed control charts, we can determine which step of the process is out of control easily. If there is a signal in the individual residual control chart, it means the previous process is out of control. If there is a signal in the cause-selecting control chart, it means the current process is out of control. The Hotelling T2 control chart only indicate the process is out of control but does not detect which step of the process is out of control.

Influences on the Principal¡¦s Leadership and the School Effectiveness of the Principal-Selecting System of Elementary Schools in Kaohsiung City

Tseng, Hsiu-chao 21 July 2005 (has links)
The main purpose of the study is to research influences on the principal¡¦s leadership and the school effectiveness of the principal-selecting system of elementary schools in Kaohsiung City. The study is divided into three sections. The first issue is focused not only on investigating the fundamental theories about the principal-selecting systems, leadership and the school effectiveness, but also on analyzing some related empirical researches. Second, the efforts are concentrated on finding out the current status and the variation of the principal¡¦s leadership and the school effectiveness. Therefore, we will realize the changes and examine the correlations among the two variables and the principal-selecting system. Finally, the concrete conclusions combined with records and results of my research will be devoted to consider about improving the school effectiveness and the principal¡¦s leadership. The approach is the Questionnaire-method with stratified sampling randomly. Based on the results from studied reports and recommendations from experts in this field, an analyzing tool with high reliabilities has been developed, titled ¡§A questionnaire for exploring the influences of existing principal-selecting system on the principle¡¦s leadership style and the school effectiveness.¡¨ A total of 600 teachers from 86 elementary schools responded the questionnaire, in a population of 36 public elementary schools in Kaohsiung City. Of them, 466 valid copies, approximately 97%, are collected. Data was analyzed with computers by traditional or state-of- the-art statistic methods, such as Arithmetic Mean, Standard Deviation, T-test, One-way ANOVA, and Pearson Product-moment Correlation. Main findings obtained from the study are as follows: 1. The elementary principle¡¦s leadership style approximately is conformed with the transformational and transactional leadership as the principal-selecting system have been brought into force. 2. Teachers realize the principle¡¦s leadership style from many views because of differences among their educational background, sex, and function. 3. After taking the principal-selecting system effect, the elementary principle¡¦s leadership style and the school effectiveness are improving. 4. Therefore, the quality of teaching is improving better than other parts of the school effectiveness. 5. Besides, teachers respectively recognize the school effectiveness through some different basic variables. 6. In conclusion, the principle¡¦s leadership style is related positively to the school effectiveness. According to analysis of records and results of researches, the above-mentioned issues will be suggested for concern to the educational administrators, the elementary principles, and correlative researchers in the future.

Selection of Geriatric Rehabilitation Clients by Geriatric Clinicians in Emergency Departments

Graceffo, Eleanor Marlene 10 September 2010 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to compare the discharge outcomes of two client groups who were admitted to geriatric rehabilitation units (GRUs). The Emergency Department or ED Group were clients seen by WRHA Geriatric Program Assessment Team (GPAT) geriatric clinicians in EDs and admitted directly to geriatric rehabilitation units and the Acute Group were clients admitted from inpatient acute care units to geriatric rehabilitation units. The study design was a retrospective study using administrative data to examine two groups for the following discharge outcomes: discharged home, discharged to personal care home, and poor outcomes of either medical instability or mortality. The study results found that 70% of clients assessed by GPAT clinicians and admitted from the ED directly to a GRU were discharged home. Similarly, 68% of the clients admitted from acute inpatient units to a GRU were discharged home. The discharge home outcomes indicate that geriatric clinicians in consultation with team Geriatricians were able to select geriatric rehabilitation clients in a busy ED despite the need for an abbreviated evaluation period requiring rapid decision-making. Results of the study indicate that clinicians in this unique GPAT program utilizing collaboration between the ED team and clear GRU admission criteria selected ED clients with potential to benefit from the rehabilitation process and return to their homes in the community. Furthermore, 6% of the ED Group cases had poor outcomes of medical instability or mortality and 10% of the Acute Group had poor outcomes following GRU admission (see Table2).
