Argamassas autonivelantes industrializadas para contrapiso : análise do desempenho físico-mecânico frente às argamassas dosadas em obra / Industrialized self-levelling mortars for subfloor : analysis of physical and mechanical performance in comparison with dosed mortarsRubin, Ariane Prevedello January 2015 (has links)
Due to the industrialization and modernization of building systems, the search for productivity and time optimization at construction sites is becoming more present in the construction sector. The self-leveling mortar for subfloor, also known as continuous coating, is a material used in many countries in Europe, USA and Latin America, with strong implementation trend in Brazil. The main feature is its high fluidity, which allows the material to bind when applied under the action of gravity and its own flow capacity, providing high flatness and floor leveling, increasing productivity and quality control. However, some pathological manifestations in this material, as segregation of the mixture, lack of adhesion, bleeding, cracks, among others, are being reported in Brazil, by companies and users of this product. Based on laboratory evaluations this research seeks to analyze the physical-mechanical performance of self-levelling mortars for subfloors compared to traditional methods of mortar implementation, in the fresh and hardened state. For this, a survey was conducted in the building site of the city of Porto Alegre, to find out which mortar proportioning are being employed in the local construction industry. The results showed, after carrying out the tests, the Brazilian self-leveling industrial mortars for subfloors, are offering more satisfactory mechanical properties than those specified in Brazilian standard for the use of subfloors mortars with mix proportion 1:6 (NBR 13753 (ABNT, 1996)). However, the studied mortars presented low performance in relation with 1:3 mortar proportion, the most used in Porto Alegre construction sites, requiring improvements on their properties.

Self-levelling Platform Concept for a Winch-based, Single Point Absorbing, Wave Energy Converter / Nivellerande plattformskoncept för ett vinschbaserat, punktabsorberande vågkraftverkBergman, Anton, Eriksson, Robin, Grahn, Lars-Fredrik January 2020 (has links)
This report covers a bachelor thesis project to design a concept for a levelling system to a point absorbing wave energy converter that uses a winch with a chain, which has restricted capabilities to bending and thus requires a system which compensates for this. First of all, a literature study was made to see if there were any technologies that could be used, and also a wide search for information about the wave conditions in the Baltic sea were performed to find what requirements would be necessary for the concept to be able to withstand the conditions faced there. Following this, several brainstorming sessions were had to get ideas for different types of constructions that could solve the problem. After multiple ideas had been conceptualized, they were rated in a Pugh matrix with five different criteria which were: 1. mechanical complexity 2. complexity of required motion control 3. complexity of the structure 4. amount of potential critical weak points 5. mass of the system and lastly 6. how symmetrical it could be made. The concept that was deemed most viable out of all them is a cradle that holds the winch-drum and is controlled by a motor to compensate for one angular shift, and this is paired with a mooring system that limits the yawing motion of the entire buoy and thus removes the need for the compensation of that angle. This concept was then modelled in Solid Edge and following this; a stress analysis was made to determine the forces that would act upon the system. These were then used to determine whether the system would live up to the requirements or not with fatigue calculations. Lastly a list of recommended future work is presented.

In theory, this work is devoted to the principles and methods of measurement of volume changes of mortars and concretes. Emphasis is placed on cement self-levelling screeds with initial shrinkage compensation. In the practical part of the work is devoted to the development of prototype measuring system designed for non-contact detection of volume changes hydrating silicate. Using the new measurement method is also practically examined the influence of boundary conditions on hydration volume changes of selected silicate binders, cement mortar and cement levelling compound based on four different connective concepts. In the calculation, this work focuses on the numerical modelling of volume changes of the examined compounds.
